Heh, I remember watching the mkv and thinking, "Oh no, he didn't clear that text box as fast as possible! It's a mistake! A mistake!" But then I started thinking, "Or maybe you have to wait for that guy to sit down before you can do anything and can't rush him. I guess that sounds reasonable."
put yourself in my rocketpack if that poochie is one outrageous dude

I sidehopped instead of supersliding because you can't superslide on ice and backwalking makes Link slide about near the beginning wasting time.
In the graveyard and outside it rolling turned out to be faster (about 35 frames faster outside and about 5 frames inside). Backwalking would have been slower becasuse time is wasted turning to set it up and then turning back to face Darmani (you have to have the lens of truth on him for 12 frames before he will react to the song of healing)/.
BoMF -- Yup, you have to wait for him to sit down.

He's only about 15% done at the adult wallet. Though, now that the Goron Mask is collected and the Song of Soaring is about to get gottenified, things will start speeding up dramatically.

I managed to skip the Skull Kid cut scene in 10 bombchus. I started at the latest possible time and kept as close to the loading point as possible.
Can it be done with fewer? I'll load up an AVI soon of that small segment soon so that you all can pick at it :)
EDIT --
Here's a quick AVI. It desyncs unfortunately, but it shows the hieght and distance etc. which is what I need commented on if I am able to use less bombs.

I can do it with 10 bombchus on a console, so my gut feeling says that a TAS sould be able to do it with fewer. Not sure though.
I remember using four to go as high as I could, then dropping and using a fifth just above the cutscene trigger, then I used four more to get as high a possible, then dropped almost all the way down again, used my last bombchu for another backflip, then I could just backflip into the loading zone.
You can do it in 9, and possibly eight, if you go near the wall opposite the tree. The cutscene trigger is much closer to the loading zone there.
I haven't managed to do it in eight, but it may be possible.
BTW, you'll have to either do it in 9 or abandon the superslide here, as the route calls for only 10 explosives to be used (it says 10 bombchus, but it should say 1 bomb, 9 bombchus). The extra chu(s) should be used in place of bombs when hovering in Woodfall.

Right. That means I have to totally change my angles.
I won't really be able to work much on the run until Wednesday (exam season), but then I have 5 full (and at present) free days. I'll post a WIP when I get into Woodfall Temple which should be by the end of next week.
Also, in Deku Palace I imagine that I am to skip the beans and just hover up to that ledge, however, in my route it says that I have one 'bomb boost' in which to do it. Imo, if my memory serves me correctly, this sounds unlikely. Does anyone have a youtube link? Just incase I'm getting the wrong idea (I assume it's drop bomb, infinite sword, backflip, bomb explodes, hover, backflip, bombchu, hover, backflip, ledge).
Anyway, until next week...
You can also skip the Deku conversation at the Palace if you whip out a bomb on entering the area and then shield drop and backflip giving you a mid-air superslide and glitching inbetween the two shown here
Here is what you do once you get inside

don't you do the goron bomb boost outside the palace anyways to skip the whole thing?
I thought I somewhere where the guy goron blasted onto the top of the archway where those two deku guards were.
edit: oh wait, the trick you posted was skipping 90%. nvm. I wonder if being the goron is not needed...

A quick update since I haven't posted for a while.
I've done the Skull Kid cutscene skip in 9 bombchus. I really really tried, but I just couldn't get it in 8 and after the 6th desync I decided just to let it go and move on.
I'm now making my way into the woods of mystery, but Goron rolling is causing annoying desync problems too (eg. bouncing of walls etc). Also, there are even more desync problems as my Luck Manipulation regularly falls out of sync (Magic Pots not being manipulated where they should be etc.) which will definitely cause problems in future.
I'll try and get to Deku Palace today and into Woodfall Temple tomorrow and if all goes to schedule I could be in Great Bay by the end of the week (this is all desync dependant of course).
Will post a WIP tomorrow hopefully.

I'm now in Deku Palace. Hopefully some of you can watch this, but if you're watching from a save state it will probably desync at the bombchu hovers.
I've now been presented with a few problems --
1) I'm all out of magic - It lasted just as long as it needed to, but it's a while before I need any more. I'll try and pick some up if it's on my way.
NOTE -- All the bushes in Woods of Mystery gave only rupees, I couldn't manipulate anything else.
2) Running low on health - The Boat Cruise skip has left me with very little health (One heart). I think I have just enough to Goron Bomb Jump, but after that I'll need to find another heart somewhere if I want to get into Great Bay.
3) If I use a bomb to mid-air superslide over the Dekus blocking the way will this affect the route? I imagine I can pick up more bombs easily at Snowhead, but I thought I should ask to make sure...

My save state was just before he bought bombs. And when he did the super slide, it didn't worked. He just stood there on the same place with his shield, oh well=P.

Mukki: do not worry about the encoding. for viewing purposes of WIPs, that was just fine.
About the segment itself: excellent! the goron rolling was superb, as was skipping through most of the swamp in record time.
Great wip, I really liked how you squeezed Goron rolling wherever possible, it really speeds up the game. Don't beat yourself up about not being able to skip the skullkid cutscene in less bombchus, I doubt anyone cares.
Here's to hoping that the game becomes less desyncable... and keep up the good work!
1) Most owl statues have Magic pots near them. Only CT, Woodfall, and South Swamp don't.
2) You did just get a Red Potion, didn't you? You'll have to drink that before Pirate's Fortress, anyway.
3) You can either Luck manipulate a bomb out of the rolling snowballs in Snowhead Access or get some out of the pots behind the laboratory. This will give you +5 bombs, so feel free to use the extra 4 as you see fit (ie, superslides).

Desynced for me at around 100k frames (right after activating the owl statue in the city, I think the same place as Tompa). However what you had up till there looked damn good. Good luck on Deku Palace.
