Famidash is a homebrew NES demake of the 2013 PC/mobile rhythm platformer game, Geometry Dash. Version 1.2 of Famidash features demakes of the official main 22 levels and 21 custom community-made levels, compared to the 13 main levels and 7 custom levels in Version 1.1.
This run aims to clear the game's 43 levels while collecting all of their coins. If you want an explanation of this game, the mechanics behind the run, and the main levels, please read
this submission. These submission notes will only talk about the custom levels that are exclusive to this run.
The Levels
Before we get into it, there's just a few things to mention:
- Unlike the "main levels" run, all of the levels are done in order, since we have a different level to end input early on.
- Not all levels have 3 coins. "The Challenge" has 0, while "Dear Nostalgists" has 2.
Dreamer
Accidentally found a skip at the dual portal. I unfortunately wasn't able to find a way to skip the speed portal at the wave portal however.
Ground to Space
While I didn't find any skips, I was able to clip through the small blocks as the ship before the UFO portal. This actually ended up helping, as it let me hit the slow speed portal late, which I couldn't do as effectively with the UFO.
Kappaclysm
In the Geometry Dash version of this level, there are two skips: one at the first ship and one at the UFO. I managed to recreate both of them in this run, which I think is very cool. I didn't think they'd work at first!
Sunshine
Jumping on the edges of the spiked platforms allowed me to skip a speed portal and a cube portal. I was then able to skip the next speed portal by hitting the orbs at the right time.
Lost in the Woods
Three skips in this level: two at the wave and one at the swing. I unfortunately couldn't find a way to skip the other speed portals in the UFO or swing sections.
Bloodbath but no
This level is basically a playground when it comes to skips. It's really easy to just skip most of the portals. I skip the second ball portal and speed portal. The game doesn't let you go out of bounds, so I try to keep my high speed for as long as possible. Eventually, I'm forced to slow down.
Dear Nostalgists
I skip a speed portal at a ship section early in the level. You can skip the slow speed portal after the dual portal section, but then the level becomes impossible, so I have to hit it.
At the end of the level, I'm able to fall out of bounds and skip another speed portal.
Problematic
Unlike it's Geometry Dash counterpart, I'm unable to skip the speed portals in the wave. Fortunately, I'm able to skip the ship and cube portals at the end, as well as their respective speed portals.
Fire Temple
I use the wave to skip the speed portal in the dual portal. I then use the swing to barely skip the speed portal and the cube portal (this skip was really hard). After being forced back to the main route, I skip the cube portal again by flying in between some spikes.
Forest Temple
I wasn't able to skip the first slow speed portal, but I was able to skip the next one and keep my high speed for almost the entire level.
Lucky Draw
The final level of the run! This level requires no inputs to beat. The catch? It's entirely luck-based. Basically, there are 800 triggers in this level. Each trigger has a 1/64 chance of randomly killing the player. This makes the chance of beating the level 1 in (63/64)^800, or a 1/296 000 chance. ... Why did they do this???
FractalFusion worked on this level, so I'll let them give a more detailed explanation in the submission thread, but the main thing you need to know is that many of the starting seeds result in an infinite loop that never beats the level (presumably because of a coding error or oversight). By exiting and starting the level at different frames, we can alter the starting seed and end input early, beating the level after 64 attempts and 8 more minutes of repeatedly dying and waiting.

I would like to give a special thanks to jlun2, CoolHandMike, and CasualPokePlayer, who helped me restore the TAS after I accidentally corrupted it. I would also like to give a special thanks to FractalFusion, who solved "Lucky Draw" and was able to find the fastest winning seed. Without them, this run would've never been finished. Thank you all so much for your help! This is my longest TAS so far! I hope I make an even longer one some day!
