Oils Well

You're rich!...maybe. Geologists have just located one of the largest oil deposits in North America, on your land! But you have to get it out of the ground before you can spend it.
The other oil barons are jealous, and they would do anything to sabotage your operation. They have planted oozies and land mines in your oil fields to wreck your drilling equipment.
Don't let them cheat you out of your millions!
More information can be found in the manual.

Effort In TASing

I've done a lot of games in the past, where routing is everything. In this one, routing is even more important...due to the horrendous dangers that need to be avoided. In addition, each level has a number of concepts that needed to be taken in consideration:
  • The Drill Bit
    • Cannot directly consume "Land Mines".
    • Must devour every "Oil Pellet" to complete a round
    • Frequently must destroy the "Oozies", head on.
    • Uses the "Petromine" to slow down all moving obstacles on screen to allow more time.
  • The Drill Pipeline
    • Cannot be touched by "Oozies"
    • Will allow passage of the "Land Mines" and "Goblets"

Ending Choice

This game has a very clear ending, which rewards the Oil Baron a "Stock Certificate" . Afterwards, it starts all the way back at the beginning on a second loop.

Human Comparison

This runner did a very good job. I believe this run is probably close to the limit of human capabilities.

Darkman425: Claiming for judging.
Darkman425: Sorry for the long delay in judging this. The routing and optimization looks good.
Accepting to Standard.

despoa: Processing...

you don't need to have played this game to know 1:50 was a damn clutch move. Yes

Boy is this game unpleasant to listen to, but the routing and near misses looks very fun.

I do like the game, but I don't like the rapid blinking at all, unfortunately, so I couldn't make it through the encode. Might be good to have a warning for that.
