So I guess I'll start of. I'm nominating Blip for the amazing work he did at the beginning getting famtasia into shape, that wasn't easy. He also added rerecording support to several emulators such as FCE Ultra. I'll also nominate nitsuja for all he did to Snes9x. Michael Fried I think also should be nominated since I've seen him consistently try to be helpful, and he was one of the main people planning out the Legend of Zelda run. Finally, I'll nominate Bisqwit, since let's face it, the whole site was created by him, and all the coding went into it isn't easy. He's also shown himself to try to help out all the newbies who had trouble getting the hang of things.

I was going to nominee Truncated alone since he he good comments, suggestions and/or ideas about pretty much everything. Nach did some good points though so I'd also like to nominee Bisqwit, Blip and Nitsuju.

Truncated. even though it comes off a bit harsh on the first look, his advice is sound.

Bladegash, simply because of everything he does in the IRC room NOT nominating Bag, since he is about as inefficient as they come.

Nitsuja for sure. My CotM movie wouldn't exist if it wasn't for him. He also did a lot improving Snes9x.

Even though I think Nitsuja will probably win because of work output, I'll go ahead and nominate Jyzero for his grand work on Gens. It's the only console I owned and I have some special affection for it (you probably noticed). So Jyzero it is.

There should be a difference between programming and forum/IRC stuff. For the former, I'd go with blip just because he was the first one to implement frame advance in an emulator. This is something I absolutely cannot live without anymore, and I know a lot of others feel the same way. For someone who's helpful in other ways, I'll definitely say Truncated. If he has any idea how a game works, he'll probably point out something you missed. My cancelled Kid Chameleon movie would not have been anywhere near the quality that it was without him... EDIT: I'll add that Mike Uyama is also great with any game he knows. -Josh

I would say Truncated and Nitusja. Truncated for his ability to add good criticism to a variety of runs (I have no idea how he does it). Nitusja for vastly improving Snes9x and making VBA better than the official version. I would say Blip, but I didn't frequent this forum when Blip was around. Where is he anyways? Off topic: Josh, you cancelled Kid Chameleon? Nooooooooo....then again that must have been a lot of stress. Are you still working on improving Vice Project Doom?

NesVideoAgent! hurumph. I agree somewhat about blip, but I recognize Truncated better as an overall helpful person. I have trouble naming a single person though.

Seconded! ...although first we'll need an inane philosophical debate over whether NesVideoAgent can accurately be described as a 'person' and thus be eligible for this award.

Hey Mike, didn't know you were following my movies. I just got tired of stressing over perfection and took a break from movie-making. I will return to Vice soon though...right now I'm about halfway through level 5. It will be awesome, trust me... The problem with Kid Chameleon is that there's a noticeable optimization to be made all the way back in level 3. You just cannot hexedit in this game either, as there are more random factors than just enemy behavior. After I finish Vice, I'll probably move onto Monster Party and make that publish-worthy. The game in and of itself is quite entertaining, as it's one of the most whacked-out things on the NES. I honestly don't know whether I'll ever get back to Kid Chameleon...it's a pain because the controls are SO precise and it's so long. If it ever gets done it would be star-worthy IMO, as even in a speedrun the game still offers a ton of variety, so maybe I will get to it... Anyway, back to the topic. -Josh

To get a bit technical here, when choosing someone for this award, only base your judgement on things they did that helped prior to April 1st. For example, while Nitusja did excellent work upgrading blip's movie support in Snes9x along with other things, his work on VBA should be an accomplishment reserved for next years awards, since AGB runs were not accepted as of April 1st. Along the same lines, don't nominate me for work on ZSNES, or my efforts in arranging the awards this year. Next year though... ;)

Bag: It applies to anyone, but only nominate them for accomplishments prior to April 1st. Helping out others before then. Modifying an emulator before then. Updating the site docs before then. Encoding movies before then. Giving good advice before then, etc...

^_^ Actually, I think whole late night crew on IRC should be able to split the whole non-software help. When we aren't dinking around, we can get a lot done. Also, the constructive criticism that comes with each WIP is astounding at some points.

Truncated, Blip, Nitsuja, and Jyzero, for reasons mentioned above. Arc for helping me with Metroid, both directly and indirectly (watching his movies).
If for honesty, you want apologies, I don't sympathize.

While I have been improving ZSNES for a while now, my ZSNES improvemnts that are movie related were done recently, and not entirely done yet, this site does not yet accept ZMVs. I think I should be nominated for next year, not this year.

No, moozooh is definitely the winner, unless you create a "most thanked person" award.
"Genuine self-esteem, however, consists not of causeless feelings, but of certain knowledge about yourself. It rests on the conviction that you — by your choices, effort and actions — have made yourself into the kind of person able to deal with reality. It is the conviction — based on the evidence of your own volitional functioning — that you are fundamentally able to succeed in life and, therefore, are deserving of that success." - Onkar Ghate
