Dragonball Z ='s action, great plot, great storyline, real perspective of the characters, suspense and thrilling action. Thats what I love about it.

Well, I don't care for it much either, all of the fights degenerate into two guys powering up for extended periods of time to unleash one attack which always fails. See you next episode. And the dubbing sucks. I've never seen the subbed version though.

Meh. I enjoyed watching it, but it's far from the best anime I've ever seen. It had its redeeming factors, but many things I didn't like about it. It did what it aimed to do well though. And I think that Dragonball was better.

Common attributes of anime :) I recommend you take a wider look (at more different series).

no a lot of people say that and what happens is that everyone joins the wagon, and never watch it for themselves and dont even have their opinion about it. The dubbing does not suck for dbz, funimation did a great job on it , and also they did a great job with the music also. THe subbed version is good as well. How do I know you didn't watch it for yourself ? because you are wrong about what you just said.

I don't care for it. The idea was novel before it was released on Toonami. This is the general break down of DBZ/DBGT: Goku:"I am super strong! There are no enemies here so we can live in peace!" Frieza/Cell/Whatever:"I am super STRONGER! I will destroy everyone because I am inherently evil and my power level is 50 billion!" Goku:"ARGH! HOW CAN THIS BE!?! I will train for a long time and become stronger!" *Fight ensues, Goku wins* Goku:"I am once again the strongest! The world is safe again." Repeat, ad nauseum, with a few random deaths and rebirths and whatnot. I think the writers wrote the first 30 episodes and then decided to copy/paste with new names, moves, and locations.

Funimation = Worst dubbers ever. 4Kids may hack up their properties, but at least the voice actors aren't grating on the ears. Chris Sabat's voice burnses us. IT BURNSES US! And pretty much every voice they got for the Hagaren dub is painful. Ed sounds way too old. As for DBZ... It's mindless. There are a few moments worth it - Gohan's explosion to SSJ2 -- And if you even dare say Funi did THAT scene right, I'll shoot you in the face with a bazooka. -- being probably the best. Might I recommend some shounen series with ACTUAL plot? Bleach is far greater than DBZ could ever hope to be. Sousei no Aquarion, which just started this season, is already better than MOST DBZ eps. The best thing DBZ has going for it is Kageyama Hironobu doing songs for it. He tends to make anything he's on better by default. Except his version of Planet Dance. Ew and why. Ew and why?

Personally, I have preferred Dragonball. I like Dragon ball Z but I hate the buu saga as well as Dragon Ball GT. Though, the best DBZ game was Dragon Ball Z RPG on SNES, but never released in America.

I've watched the entire series. I've also watched many many other anime series. DBZ isn't nearly as impressive as most try to make it out to be, especially when you put it against GTO, Get Backers, Naruto, Ah! My Goddess, X, Angel Sanctuary, any Ghost in the Shell, &c &c &c. Even ones that aren't all that great, like Metropolis, I still enjoyed much more than DBZ. It is a bit older than those that I've mentioned, true, but you also have better series from the late 80s early 90s as well, Ranma 1/2 for instance. Naruto has better action, so does a number of animes. X has much better storyline, along with almost any other anime you can name. More realistic characters can be found in a 4 year old's notebook of scribbles. All it has going for it, really, is the shiny thing factor. And most people grow out of that.

Now there is a series which rocks. Also Samurai Champloo is a great show, in a similar spirit. It's just the sheer *style* which makes those series so good. Though Trigun is my personal favorite.

Slayers does get old after a while. But it took until the middle of season 3 for me. It got DBZ-esque. Beck is friggin awesome though.

I hate DBZ, although not as much as Naruto... I personally loved Onegai Teacher & Last Exile, as well as numerous other series...but those two really stand out. Onegai Teacher probably because it was the first or at least among the first romantic comedy -series I LOVE to watch and Last Exile because it is 100% perfect. Seriously.

I love Hokuto no Ken. I found this anime somewhat funny with Ken using some non-human super moves . There was also Cobra

Let's see... I first got hooked on anime watching Sailor Moon at 6:30 AM (about ten years ago). Moved on to the original Dragonball and DBZ. I quit watching DBZ seriously during the Android saga. I wouldn't say it's a bad show but it no longer holds my attention. I've only seen the first season of the original Dragonball but I liked it. After that it was Slayers. I like it but I refuse to ever see another Slayers movie again; they're all exactly the same, I swear. Then it was Cowboy Bebop and Trigun, two of my favorite shows to this day. Most recently I've really enjoyed Read or Die, Bleach, Air, and Naruto.
