• Record form reset
  • As fast as possible
  • Takes no damage
Damage will stuns you for a while, so don't take damage. But there are rare cases that take damage will save time.
  • Jump as high as possible
If you can run on the your way, don't jump. Jump will slower than you run. But if you need to jump, jump as high as possible is a good idea.
  • Use weapons to save time
Kill enemies when on your way then you don't have to jump. So I use weapons frequently.
  • Cross though enemy
If you hit enemies at right timing and angle, you can cross though enemy without getting hurt. That's just for a while they cannot do damage on you. So dont stop for a long time on them.
  • Stage 1: Killer Moth
You can hit him when he start flying. Use Three-way shoot -> batarange -> Three-way shoot again.
  • Stage 2: Machine
Systematically destroy its parts. First take out the guns at the end of the conveyor. Next take out the glowing blue eye at the left edge. finally the eyes on the wall behind you.
  • Stage 3: The Electrocutioner
If you don't use weapons on him, he will come to you step by step. When you use weapons, he will jump from his side to another. His move is very fast than you run to him. So give him a shoot, let him come to you. Next he will detect your position and attack. Try to let him start attaking the wall with his back to you, blast him ! Don't touch him when he uses his big slash or you will get hurt.
  • Stage 4: Dual-Container Alarm
Take care one of them ! They have the same 64 Hp(total 128 hp). When you just finish one of them, the other will become 16 hp(total 80 hp). So I choose the one near my position.
  • Stage 5: Firebug
That's the best hard one. You just has 2 pixples accuracy to play with him. The same strategy with Electrocutioner. Let him detect you posion and move the other side behind him. Ya, his fists are the most fast and powerful in the world, but our hero BATMAN's fists are better than him.
  • Final Stage: The Joker
Have your fists ready ! Just knock him down !
There exist some lag in some segments, because too many particles(enemies & use weapons) at the same screen. Lag always exist everywhere, just big or small lag difference. Make it balance is a homework to do ^.^ BTW, don't forget to listen to the music, it's very great ! Especially I like Stage 2.

Thank our hero " blip " for patching such a good emulator

Bisqwit: 46 seconds faster than Linnom's version. Most unexpected. Congratulations, this will be published!

Voted yes because it was entertaining and it beats the previous movie by almost a minute. I especially liked your creative use of the weapons, something lacking from Linnom's movie. Nice job jecy. I only have one question. In stage 4-1 when the Joker pops up on the tv screens there is a lot of slowdown. Is there anyway to prevent that? My only complaint is that your submission text leaves a lot to be desired though the music in the game is great :P. You could add these two bullet points: -Takes no damage -Aims for fastest time You could also explain how your run beats Linnom's run by almost a minute.

cool. well done. there is room for improvement and i have 2 complaints: - your style choice of not killing enemies cost you time. - even though you dont exactly HAVE TO, you should have discussed the making of this movie on the forums. or at least let people know you are making it. i had no idea you were making this and i think nobody did. you can save our and your time if you let us know.

Hi ~ all, First I was very very sorry that I had not explained it clearly carefully. Well, English is not my first language, I need some time explain this movie. Please forgive me and wait seconds, I will add it. mikwuyma >I only have one question. In stage 4-1 when the Joker pops up on the tv screens there is a lot of slowdown. Is there anyway to prevent that? In stage 4-1, ya, there is some lag in that room. Maybe I can prevent that if i slowndown my speed. Thank you for your enjoying it, thx.

jecy you can kill the first enemy instead of ignoring him, that will remove the lag. but that should have been discussed on the NES forum, on the Batman thread. not here on the submission after you have finished your work. edit: sorry if i sound too mean, it wasnt meant to :P

Very short description there... is it the language barrier again? For the interested: - As fast as possible - Abuses glitches (goes trough a flame twice without getting hurt) - Takes no damage (as opposed to the published version) This is 46 seconds faster than the currently published version. Now for some ideas: - Around 16030, could you jump from the upper ledge to avoid landing an extra time when you go down? Perhaps this means you will turn to the right slower. - Around 22000 there's a lot of slowdown. Kill more enemies. - Beginning of level 4-3, can you jump into the hole in the start instead? As before, maybe this gives you problems with turning.

I dont know how to add these descriptions into my submission, sorry. > Around 16030, could you jump from the upper ledge to avoid landing an extra time when you go down? Perhaps this means you will turn to the right slower. I think this is a good way for landing.(faster 2 frames or so, I reminded) >- Around 22000 there's a lot of slowdown. Kill more enemies Please give me a hint how to kill enemies without lose much time. That's would be appreciated. >- Beginning of level 4-3, can you jump into the hole in the start instead? As before, maybe this gives you problems with turning. Ya, You are right. but if I jump down form start, I will take damage(Ya, that's will save time, but how dare I let our hero get hurt). If I jump to the plateform (about 25500), then keep going , it will be slower.(turning is not problem for me ^.^)

Excellent movie. I'll vote yes. However, I have a feeling this won't be the last Batman submission... Perhaps it's something lag-related?

Open your submission page (link in the first post), click Edit and add the text, then click Save. Thanks for the help. If I start over again to avoid some lag but maybe faster or slower and no new strategy boss fighting. Is it worth to do just improve or worsen some seconds ? Anyway, I'll take it into consideration and I should save my enery now. BTW, if someone would like improve it, I'm very glad to see it(same strategy is okey).

If it improves, it is very much worth it. :) By the quality of this movie, even one second would be a good result (more would be incredible...). I support your decision to have the movie no-damage.

Bisqwit >If it improves, it is very much worth it. ) By the quality of this movie, even one second would be a good result (more would be incredible...). One second improvement is possible for me, just more redo counts for good luck. Not count of lag. Yes, trust me, I'm pretty sure of that. The lag is the big trouble. If I eliminate that, I'm afraid I'll lost time. sometime fast sometime worse. >I support your decision to have the movie no-damage. THX, I missed this sentence. I add some discriptions, still rough. hope you can understand.

i would really like to see you kill more enemies, instead of just hitting and getting through. he is batman, not spiderman :) on level 5-1 on the biggest lag on the level, i think you can try to some options to avoid the lag: - kill the first flamethrower below - dont jump too high, keep the screen down to kill the 2 cars below - if not possible to keep screen down, dont shoot at the two cars, the weapon sprite lags too.

I love it! Perhaps you should consider making a lag-reduced version, but this definitely shows a lot of skill. I like the batarang manipulation, very smooth, especially at the beginning of level 3.

I'm not a movie maker myself but I like movies which comes out of nowhere, unexpected. Walker Boh does that all the time. I understand your feeling as you tried to make a batman movie as well but seriously, you make it sound jecy would have done something wrong while he didn't do absolutely anything. Even if he knew there was some discussion about the game, there is nothing wrong with a bit of mystery and suprise. There is absolutely no such thing as "you should have discussed about making this movie" whatsoever. This movie was really good, I really didn't believe someone could beat Linnom's time with so big difference. Well done.

FODA >i would really like to see you kill more enemies, instead of just hitting and getting through. he is batman, not spiderman ) Really ? I had seen Linnom's publish page. There was a word "The hero of Gotham City goes against the villain of Gotham City. His fists are more powerful than any weapon in the world, but he rarely kills anyone" I just thought everyone like this play style. Well that let me confused. >on level 5-1 on the biggest lag on the level, i think you can try to some options to avoid the lag - kill the first flamethrower below - dont jump too high, keep the screen down to kill the 2 cars below - if not possible to keep screen down, dont shoot at the two cars, the weapon sprite lags too. Very thanks for the knowledge, that's helpful. I had tried similar things before. If I killed the first flamethrower, then in the next right side there would be 3 flamethrower upstair. Still maintained 3 flamethrowers in the "operation" screen. About "Dont jump too high and kill..." I had forgetten what had happened, sorry I'll try it again. If I didn't kill 2 cars but use batarange just kill the 2 flamethwowers upstair or use 3-way shoot kill 2 flamethrowers & 2 cars upstair, that would be slower 8 or 10 frames. Sprites or weapons is hard to make it balance for me. ^.^ I can select a average lag solution so you cannot easily feel the music lag but that will be slower. Would you please allow me to do this thing ? TheAxeMan >I love it! Perhaps you should consider making a lag-reduced version, but this definitely shows a lot of skill. I like the batarang manipulation, very smooth, especially at the beginning of level 3. Thank you for the enjoying. I really did a lot of test before starting. But it still not good enough. ^.^ You all absoultely are better than me. As for re-make a one, if somebody would like to do it, I'm very welcome. If no, I may take this one and I hope more people can give me some clues not only walkthough but play style will be appreciated. In fact, I had gotten the same feeling with you, lag made me unable to enjoy listening to the great music. I started it from previous days(apr.1) and tried. I didnt have net connection at that time in my place. I'll remember your name, thx. >This movie was really good, I really didn't believe someone could beat Linnom's time with so big difference. Well done. When you feel surprised and happy, that's the biggest reward to me. ^.^

I am really surprised how humble you are, nobody is better than anyone! you did a marvelous job on this game, i can only appreciate it. I was rushy to say those things because i underestimated your testing, but you say that you tested the game a lot, even the lag. So, i trust your gameplay for this game (and any other game you try).

From a personality standpoint, Batman is probably less likely to kill a criminal than Spider-Man. I actually think the ending of this game is pretty cold; Batman just throws the helpless Joker to his death. The movie wasn't like that and the comics were nothing like that. This game should probably have one of those "pacifist" runs, actually ^_^

Yeah, there's an ending where The Joker DOESN'T dance with the Devil in the pale moonlight, right?

the ending is only activated when you walk towards the joker after he's dead. you can sit the for all eternity and nothing will happen unless you walk to him.

Sorry, I should explain some clearly. First you can shoot the joker with 3-way shoot twice like the previous stage fight, then 3 jumps totally are enough for me to knock him down without any movement till the end. The 4th jump is unnecessary(mean you can avoid it with good previous jumps) but I like Linnom's cool ending(still within 932s). That's cool(fly to knock him down). D BTW, play style than speed or speed than play style. What's the priority you'll choose. Your choice is very important to me. ) Edit And that's remind me there is another ending(very possibly buggy). When he has 0 hp, then you punch him. That's the ending in this movie, kneel and lose his hope...(I dont know how to describe it). When he has 2 hp, then punch him. you wont see this scenario(it been skipped).
