Here comes another BTTF game (released in Japan only)--one that remarkably isn't as removed from the movie subject matter as the two NES ones (although it has to deviate for the sake of amusement). As usual, you control Marty, this time, continually on his hoverboard, as he "skates" and bounces off enemies and bosses in 2015, 1985-A, and 1955. If nothing else, it's at least faster-paced than the other ones. This movie ends after 2-2, to give people a sense of the gameplay, and whether any interest is present. The ROM is "Super Back to the Future II (J)". Edit: Fixed the desyncing problem while still trying to keep it interesting--"wobbling" seems to mess it up for some reason.

Okay! This second WIP ends after 4-4 in 1985-A, in the rooftop scene where Marty defeats Biff by...jumping on his head and shocking him. Yes. Are people able to get this working alright?

What emulator version did you use for the recording, I am having desync problems at the second boss, with Griff, who is supposed to be crashing through the court house.

This is odd...I'm running 1.43+, and I'm having the same desync problems watching the run as well. None of the boxes are checked, either, but when I watched a previous version, everything seemed to work alright... Edit: Ok, I think I've figured out the problem; "wobbling" seems to cause the game to desync. I'm not sure if that's only in the boss stages or not, but I'm not taking any chances.

I recently downloaded the rom, and I love it. It's a hoverboarding platformer that follows the movie's story. I want to see a TAS of it.

Heh... "Follows the movie's story"? Oh right, like the scene in the future where Marty has to defend himself from officers pulling out oversized revolvers (as large as their bodies) and giant kids tossing cans of soda. Or maybe the scene where, after learning from the "Biff Tunns" museum how Biff made his fortune, Marty hurtles through the insanely proportioned hallways of the hotel, fighting off security guards and dodging floating black balls. Or where he had to get past the insane saxophonist before meeting his mother. Or the scene where he frantically makes his way through Oak Park Cemetary searching for his father's grave, whilst fighting past machinegun wielding terrorists and molotov cocktail wielding Britishers with their heads on fire. Seriously though, I mean no offense; I was working on a TAS of this game at one point and it just blew me away how many "creative liberties" one had to take to make a game like this work. It's a great game, though one very, very frustrating point for me was the second Griff boss battle--the game would desync, over and over as the fight started. So, in conclusion, I would also like to see a TAS made of this game. I'm not going back to it for personal reasons, so please don't ask.

Since 2015 is the year that Marty Macfly traveled to the future, why not TASing this game in such a special year? After all, the AVGN considered it as a good game and I didn't found any thread for it so.... Have fun! BTW, I did a testrun a LONG time ago and it sucks, so I already tried anyways.

I want all good TAS inside TASvideos, it's my motto. TAS i'm interested: Megaman series, specially the RPGs! Where is the mmbn1 all chips TAS we deserve? Where is the Command Mission TAS? i'm slowly moving away from TASing fighting games for speed, maybe it's time to start finding some entertainment value in TASing.

Hey guys! I decided to pick this game to TAS. Note how this game is tough to TAS (Lots of lag on almost every way). WIP: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/37499582443296370 I improved a lot of Viewer's old WIP (Dated March 23 2005) on Round 1-1, and a fix on Round 1-2. I originally started this run on BizHawk 1.11.7, but I stopped before because I picked other game to TAS. I changed the header to BizHawk 1.12.0. Note: This is the third topic of this SNES game. The first two topics is: http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1962 http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3770

WIP 2: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/37659946180836546 Viewer's Old WIP (snes9x) desyncs on Round 2-2. So, this New WIP (BizHawk), doesn't desync, completing Round 2-2 with success! Improved Round 2-1 with several optimizations, including skipping one member of Biff's gang. Well, I saved totally over 40 seconds of old snes9x WIP, even with much more lag.

Well, my lastest progress was until 3-1, and forgot to post a link here. Now, after 2 years, some new progress - actually still finishes on 3-1: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/54913042614538702 First of all, since this run was initially worked prior to 2xx BizHawk versions, I resynched my lastest WIP to 2.2.1 version with the help of TAStudio, and also managed to find some new tricks, resulting on more more bruteforce with those stages - lag is still really annoying). Second, it's 511 frames faster and removed 286 lag frames - both overall.

@grassini Thanks! And the WIPs will reach slower here. More progress: http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/55700863165553522 3-2 and 3-4 were really difficult. Although 3-4 tooks much more time to reach a very satisfied result, It's not final version for me - but TASing a single stage for a long time is stressful. With some pausing (start button), it's possible to delay that attack from those "guards" on 3-4, avoiding some lags. Actually I did the same with an enemy at the end of 2-1, but avoiding even more lag. 3-3 boss sucks when playing on real time: He has 16 HP, but when he reaches 0 HP, It's still possible to hit before he "dies", but the HP "resets" to 255 - which means that you still must attack until reaches 0 again, or lose a life to restart the battle. Interessingly, this boss has an own HP address. For 3-5, I managed to hit both bosses as soon as "invicibility stunning" ends, with some help of running, which increases the Y speed a bit more.
