I dislike the GameFAQs boards because they're at most times too strict, but I realize they have sponsors to please.
I still visit anyways for the high scores topics.
Don't forget Battle & Chase and Rockman.EXE WS, Boco. They're as equally important as the rest. ;)
<offtopic>I haven't truly played the mobile phone games that are so hard to get since they are Japan-only brands (unless someone can emulate them to a vast degree), but I can tell for sure that I myself have played every single Rockman game that has come out for a game console/portable and I bought/own about 90% of those games. All I lack in my collection is Rockman & Forte WS.</offtopic>
I really can't see a reason to say that Rockman X8 is a slow and dull game (I think X7 does a better job at being just that to be honest). julianch seems to have a problem defending whatever honor he still has in his veins, because frankly, I have never seen X8 being slow and dull as he claims it is. Heck, I can prove to him how fast-pace'd the game truly is by playing the PC version (I have the PS2 version too, but I don't have recording tools for it and my tape recorder can't handle NTSC signals), so we can prove his statement wrong. Just say when...!
*Gets the game and Fraps ready*
You really, really aren't missing anything there. Oh god that game was horrible Its only redeeming quality was using Quint as a main character, and even that was screwed up by it being a BANDAI game (and set in 200x, what?)
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster.
I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.
I don't care if Bandai took the liberty of creating it (and EXE WS, considered being one of my personal favorite games, out of own taste and opinion). This R&F game is (and most definately plays like) a Rockman game and it counts to my collection. I only liked the music in that game though (WS-ified versions of the SNES version Rockman & Forte more or less).
Haha, that game had some really stupid-looking Robot Masters. Dangaman looks the worst, but Compassman looks the funniest. I liked the flashback to Rockman World 2, though. But I didn't have the urge the replay the entire game as Forte, since I can't read the story, and I figure it won't be terribly different with him anyway.
Hey, why didn't they get around to using MagicMan's song? :(
put yourself in my rocketpack if that poochie is one outrageous dude
I wondered that too. I thought it would even be hidden internally inside the game, but it didn't. I guess Bandai disliked that theme. I see nothing wrong with that theme though, since I liked it.

Actually, I agree with Julianch. After seeing the latest speedrun of MMX8 on SDA and playing it a bit on my friend's console, I can honestly say that it is a pretty shoddy game. It seems like they spent too much time on graphics and not enough time on details like gameplay or plot. The new Maverick/Robot Masters seem like bad parodies of older bosses. The only ones that seemed cool were Optic Sunflower and Bamboo Pandamonium, but we can all agree that those names/concepts are horrid abominations in the eyes of past characters.
Also, I have some qualms with the whole tag team thing that you can do in the boss fights. It's like the developers decided to blatantly steal concepts from MvC and then mix it with some very repetetive movements and a horrid eye raping. I'm not going to get into all of it, though.
MMX 1-3 are still the best of the X series. I have played X 1-8 excluding 6 and have found that the series is more or less dragging out a painful end rather than going out in style or keeping a respectable franchise alive.
HEEEEEEY, THESE SCORES ARE MINE!!!!!.
1) yes, in my opinion MegaMan X7 is a great game.
2) I was wrong about the slow pace of X8.
3) Boco words are offensive.

I think that invalidates his opinion of X8. Comparing it to original Megaman series and perhaps even the SNES Megaman X games isn't really a straight comparison, but comparing it to X8 and saying that X7 is better, you really have to have not played one of those games much. They're very similar, they just removed the most sucky parts of 7.

Well, I'm glad that you're so easily amused, then. I will give it one thing: its Sigma fight is probably the hardest in the series if you don't bring Zero there. Beyond that it just didn't entertain me enough for a second run through the game. (Especially with the fact that one of the weapons you get is absolutely useless. Nothing is weak to it, and it's not even a particularly useful weapon to clear standard enemies with.)
But, meh. You're entitled to your opinion.

But "one of the worst" implies that it isn't the worst.
Y'see, English is a strange language in that if you use extra words to avoid an etreme (like "one of" or "almost") it implies that the extreme isn't true.
