Mega Man is my favourite videogame saga ever, I played every Mega Man game and I love them. But recently I played Mega Man X8. this game has poor gameplay and slow moves. Please, don't buy this game. ¡¡¡¡ Mega Man X8 sucks !!!!.

Didn't Boco say this is the best Capcom game ever or something? *shrug*
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

You have not played every game in the series. Please do not pretend that you have. I respect your opinion even though I really don't see how you arrived at it, as X8 is wonderful. What's poor about it? And what makes it slow compared to other X-series games, excluding the obvious (X7 and Command Mission)?

i've only finished all the nes and snes games to megaman (except mm soccer), and a few on gameboy. I've played some of the games on playstation but I don't think they're as good as the old ones.

Nah, Boco's going to spoil our fun by listing every pointless Japanese game that didn't get exported.

In fairness, that's Boco's point. Using emulation, I'm sure it's possible to have played every Mega Man/Rockman game out there, but Boco is wagering that julianch hasn't. I suppose that fact isn't terribly relavant to julianch's opinion of X8, but everyone's entitled to their own thing, right?

That's kind of irrelevant to the discussion, I'd think.

I would disagree with that particular assessment. (At least, I don't know of any good cellphone emulators, or counting non-canon games, any Tiger LCD emulators.) But the low estimate of 93 canon titles in the series (as of September 2004) makes it kind of hard to believe anyone who insists on having played them all.

It's not relevant at all. But when I asked for clarification of that opinion, none was given; rather a defense of the easily provably untrue statement.

Including Rockman Dash Golf, Rockman Space Rescue, Rockman EXE Phantom of Network, etc? Or, less obscurely, Rockman EXE 4.5 Real Operation, Wily and Right's Rockboard, Rockman Megaworld, The Best of Mega Man, Rockman EXE N1 Battle, Superadventure Rockman, etc?

Getting back on topic.....

I actually found this game a lot of fun. I consider it the best X game since X4. Slow moves? The game moves at a very fast pace, faster than any of the other X games (I have never played X7). If you mean the responsiveness of the controls, I never had a problem with them. All the the actions seemed instantaneous, and the control setup made sense, unlike the controls for X6. Poor gameplay? Other than Gigabolt Man-o-war and Avalanche Yeti's stage I found the gameplay similar to X1-3. I will admit that Gigabolt's stage was incredibly stupid, and Avalanche Yeti's stage dragged on too long. The other stages were typical MMX platforming stages.

Boco, don't be such an [expurgated]. Everyone knew what he meant with his initial post, and no one gives a shit about the 93+ canon and non-canon titles. [expurgated]...stop picking arguments just for the sake of hearing yourself talk. EDIT by feitclub: This discussion will remain civil. Name calling is not permitted.

I think Boco's point is that the games everyone knows about and "every game in the series" are two very different things. Basically, julianch was using hyperbole even if he/she didn't know it. On a side note, everyone needs to drop the insults. Now. I can't imagine why anyone is angry about this discussion but apparently a nerve has been touched. I've had to edit two posts already and I can lock this topic if I have to.

Well, Julianch still hasn't denied playing every single game ever, so I'm going to believe him.

Wait, so because there's 93 games with the word Megaman/Rockman on it, they're all part of one big contiguous series? I don't understand that.

Yeah, I don't condone incivility and insults, but editing every post that isn't pleasant is a little extreme.

Well, yes. The EXE games (there are at least 13 so far) are in an alternate universe but the rest of the games form one coherent timeline. But that has very little to do with the real claim (that X8 was so horrible) which he has yet to substantiate.

I tend to think of it as having several series inside a single franchise. Hence, there's the Battle Network series, the X series, the original series, and so forth. Like Star Trek.

Yeah, and Star Trek is supposed to have one big timeline too, but the writers mess it up all the time.

I'm not a humorless robot seeking out and erasing people's words. I just have a thing against people who lace their arguments with snide insults, one of the reasons I hate the GameFAQs boards. In fairness, I'm not sure Cazlab was trying to be insulting, but I decided to err on the side of tolerance.
