Hey everyone, i recently went over the problem of carrying a savefile over different movies (mostly for RNG manipulation purposes in Pokémon Platinum) I read another post saying you needed to tick the SRAM file and use the .dsv file associated with the ROM. But here's the problem : > I first start a new game with a clean save using a movie > I then proceed to save the game (if i soft reset the emulator now, i can use the save i've just done) > I then start a new movie pointing the SRAM at the correct .dsv, the savefile is empty I somehow managed to work around that problem ONCE (was not able to reproduce it), but i think it involved using savestates and closing the movie manually before saving in game. Plus closing the emulator to update the .dsv file. But i'm really lost on how to consistently carry that ingame savefile across multiple movies i'm doing. If anyone has any idea or experience with that kind of manipulation, i'd take the help :) Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but it seems DeSmuME is rather bugged for SRAM and movie recording; this includes both starting from SRAM + resetting during playback. Not sure if it's fixed in the development builds.

Use version 0.9.9 if you're having any trouble with SRAM and movie recordings. 0.9.10 and 0.9.11 are both bugged, as jlun2 said. IIRC the later versions just ignore the SRAM data in the movie file and use the same save file that is used if you aren't recording/playing a movie. So you can make get the movie files to play back correctly, but it's very easy to mess up and you have to keep separate save files for each movie file.
