Submission Text Full Submission Page
This TAS is about 10 seconds faster than ctrlaltdestroy's published run
I'll write more later when I'm not tired i promise, but the Main improvement is the fact that when you leave a level, you can hit Select to start depleting energy, this makes the Energy Countdown shorter, savin time 8) There's also some gameplay improvements too! Don't worry i didn't just cut-and-paste ctrlaltdestroy's run to make this.
CtrlAltDestroy's submission text is way more detailed than mine is (at least for now) so go read it if you really wanna know more about this CRAP game: #3745: CtrlAltDestroy's NES Dash Galaxy in the Alien Asylum in 06:37.33

ars4326: Judging!

I'm going to cancel this movie. There are several known improvements, and I'm too busy to implement them, and prioritizing this game over other stuff would be... a mistake. I'm probably not done with this crappy game, but right now isn't the time.

So I happened to be awake late and noticed this got posted. Sadly, Dash Galaxy has had somewhat of a speedrunning history, and clearly some of that was overlooked. I'd recommend the author check the game page on SDA for the specifics, but a major glitch was overlooked that saves a bunch of time on floor 24. http://speeddemosarchive.com/DashGalaxy.html Considering the SDA run is several seconds faster than this run (after adjusting for timing differences between TAS and SDA), I feel like this should be rejected for now.

The author can make adjustments and post the update in this forums, or someone else can help out and become coauth with a fix to it. Simple straight out rejection without waiting doesn't exist here.

Yea sorry I'm more used to SDA's system where its a straight accept/reject. Everything else looks good and the trick is near the end of the run so it should be fairly simple to add in.

Heh, my ass has been pre-emptively kicked. (Between this and the pound level in Garfield and his Nine Lives, I'm beginning to think I overlook things - to put it mildly :P) Don't worry, I'm dedicated to this game and its, er, legions of fans. I'll make an improvement - anything to put off having to write a submission text. ;) The RTA I see has some other tricks I missed, like pressing select during the platforming parts to deplete energy even further, so I might do a complete overhaul while splicing in the usable stuff I have. Keep your eyes peeled.

Hey, nice job. I actually was intending to do this one over sometime in the future, since real-time runs had beaten my run by several seconds due to a different route. Excellent trick with the suicide button, I never thought of that. Good luck with the improvements!

Hi, Tormented. Do you think you'll have an updated file made here soon? I can set your submission to delayed, in the meantime.

Oh dear. I completely forgot about this. Don't worry, I'll have an improvement by the weekend, just been crazy busy and I'm... not giving a crappy NES game that much priority.

Sounds good! I should be able to have it judged for you that same day. edit: Also, I've got a question regarding a possible routing improvement, toward the end. In the first stage you enter on level 23, there's two keys over the to left of the bomb that you collect. Wouldn't it be faster to collect these two keys here, so that you could use them to unlock the consecutive barriers in level 24? This would assuredly save time over having to enter and re-enter that stage again (on level 24). edit 2: My mistake! I just tested it and realized that the game resets your bomb & key count after using a warp (been too many years since I've played this).
