I leave it here. More info here: http://pastebin.com/Hia10WyM It would be nice to make poll: 1) leave as it is 2) make movie profile does not dependent to where you look at it

Just to make it clear: Session Start: Mon Nov 23 21:32:06 2015
[22:35] <r57shell> guys
[22:35] <r57shell> maybe I'm really stupid
[22:35] <r57shell> but
[22:35] <r57shell> http://tasvideos.org/Movies-Stars.html
[22:36] <r57shell> why there movies that actually HAVE stars
[22:36] <r57shell> don't have stars icons?
[22:36] <Fog_TAS> because you're in the star section?
[22:36] <Fog_TAS> seems counter intuitive to have a star when you're in the star section
[22:37] <r57shell> no
[22:37] <r57shell> it's counter intuitive to NOT HAVE
[22:37] <r57shell> star icon for movie that has it
[22:38] <DwainiumB> Fog_TAS: I just wanted to make a quick test movie but it just isn't responsive enough
[22:39] <DwainiumB> I use 5396 anyway, I'll just wait until everything is fixed.
[22:43] <r57shell> Fog_TAS in hope that it will change something, I'll add example from life
[22:44] <r57shell> Imagine I have car
[22:44] <r57shell> and I wanna buy tires
[22:44] <r57shell> studded wheels
[22:45] <r57shell> I opening some shop
[22:45] <r57shell> for tires
[22:45] <r57shell> then, I adding filter
[22:45] <r57shell> studded
[22:45] <r57shell> and SUDDENLY
[22:45] <r57shell> it returns in results
[22:45] <r57shell> studded ACTUALLY
[22:45] <r57shell> but NO info about they are studded
[22:45] <r57shell> it's just hidded "because it's obvious, you had searching studded"
[22:46] <r57shell> it makes really big confusion
[22:46] <r57shell> I would even call support
[22:46] <r57shell> and say, guys, filter "studded" does not work
[22:46] <r57shell> and imagine manager
[22:46] <r57shell> that will tell bs
[22:46] <r57shell> (bullshit)
[22:47] <r57shell> "you was searching studded, so info about studded not need, so we removed it in info"
[22:47] <r57shell> wtf
[22:47] <r57shell> r u mad?
[22:47] <r57shell> ok, I can post that all somewhere, if you point where to post that thing
[22:47] <Zanoab> what extra information could a star icon provide?
[22:48] <Zanoab> (I agree with you for other reasons though)
[22:48] <r57shell> I don't need extra info actually
[22:48] <Zanoab> my problem is when the inverse happens
[22:48] <r57shell> it needs for consistency
[22:48] <r57shell> what inverse?
[22:49] <Zanoab> what if you don't just want to look at star movies?
[22:49] <r57shell> profile of movie should not depend any condition
[22:49] <Zanoab> there is no way to tell it is filtered
[22:49] <r57shell> it should be OBJECTIVE
[22:49] <r57shell> not SUBJECTIVE
[22:50] <r57shell> atm, it depends on page where you looking from
...
[22:55] <r57shell> other example
[22:55] <r57shell> imagine site that removes actor from actors lists in movies
[22:55] <r57shell> when you search movies with actor
[22:55] <r57shell> it's completely mad
[22:56] <r57shell> normal site would highlight it
[22:57] <r57shell> as item that you was looking for
[22:58] <r57shell> it makes conclusion, that info is NOT CONSISTENT
[22:58] <r57shell> not true
[22:58] <r57shell> info - lies
[22:59] <r57shell> because he was there
[22:59] <r57shell> same with movies info
[22:59] <r57shell> when it does not show star icon
[22:59] <r57shell> it simply lies to user
[22:59] <r57shell> that movie does not have star
[22:59] <r57shell> because that placeholder
[22:59] <r57shell> is actually "awards"
[22:59] <r57shell> placeholder
[22:59] <r57shell> and when you see that there is no star icon
[23:00] <r57shell> you making conclusion that it does not have star award
[23:00] <r57shell> that all
[23:00] <r57shell> thx, I'm stoping complain, because I'm tired to tell reasonable things to those who just don't listen
[23:00] <r57shell> the end
Today:
<r57shell> I'll explain for those who don't understand where confusion coming from
<r57shell> you select stars filter
<r57shell> then few seconds looking page
<r57shell> then suddenly, wait' they are not starred!
<r57shell> clicking browser back
<fsvgm777> Because it's in the URL.
<r57shell> ok I wanna stared ones, clicking on stared link
<r57shell> checking again, no stars hmm
<r57shell> clicking on some of movie
<r57shell> it opens single movie
<r57shell> with its card
<r57shell> and you see, it's really stared
<r57shell> WTF you think.
<r57shell> then, if you thorough enough, you'll go on default list for games, and will see there same movie with star, and compare with list of stared ones, and all this confusion dissapears
<r57shell> but WTF still stands
<r57shell> so, my reasoning exactly:
<r57shell> movie card should be same inregarding to page, because that's more consistent/makes more sense/is clearer for the viewer

r57shell is correct, the movie's card should be invariant of where/how it is displayed. It's better to show redundant information than it is to hide implicit information. Are we really that starved for space that it makes sense to hide the stars?

I'm inclined to agree; it feels weird that, when searching for a category that has an icon, the icon itself does not appear on the publications. It seems inconsistent.
