1. input-display.lua and don't use any blitter except basic. 2. map game input => test 3. give up When you tas the game, you must be broken. Good luck.

There is no way that I know of to edit an fbm in Notepad. You can do it in a hex editor, but the file format is very difficult to figure out and I've only successfully hexed together a movie once before (and it desynced anyway). It would unfortunately be a lot less headache to redo the input manually. FBA-rr works very well with some games, but doesn't work well at all with some others, exhibiting many crashes and Guru Meditation errors (whatever that means) when loading and saving states. If you really want to TAS this game, you should keep trying despite the crashes, but you might be better off TASing another game for now.

Right, for Arcade games, every engine is a separate driver, and not all of them have savestates implemented (as there are TOO many different drivers). So it either somehow works in a glitched way, or doesn't work at all. MAME, for one, tells you savestates aren't implemented for a given game, if so.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.
