It actually does save time in any%, but cosmo isn't going to go back to any% for just 2 seconds lol

So I guess now would be a good time to ask: Who, if anyone, is actually working on this?
Over a decade on this site, holy shit

Maybe I'm completely stupid, but I can't see how this should save time for any%. You don't even go up to the top floor anymore because of the Skulltula-Recoil Trick used while climbing the vines.

I don't think it saves time in the TAS since you don't have to get ISG to do the Skulltula trick, but it might be faster in RTA.

Well it's further on the left so less travel time... and RTA doesn't have to manipulate the skulltullas this way. Doubt it's faster for TAS, too. Btw. you should come up with a way to OI with chus, now that we have a fast way to get them. I know you can do it. ;)

Link to video Blank A = Noclip simulator? Are there more interesting walls you can noclip through or is this the only one?

I would guess the thing doesn't quite reach the ground because of the slope. Seems like this glitch makes Link's hitbox very flat. Interesting. Don't know if there are other places with small gaps. If this also makes Link's hitbox more narrow it could lead to an easier adault DoT skip... /pure speculation Edit: Oh yeah, you need a crawl space for this glitch. Totally spaced. Never mind. I'll leave this post here to mark my shame.

So could getting chus in any% be faster now?

Getting chus faster than not getting chus in any%? seems unlikely. Getting chus in categories where you get well chus? yes

I was actually testing some stuff for that, if chus were to be obtainable for any%, they would be used for: Deku Tree Cutscene Skip 2-3-1 Skip Gohma Wall Clip (2 explosives required for that) and a few slides as well.

You can do Gohma Clip using Chus? Is there a video of this? And can you do Ganondoor without leaving the room using this? This would be awesome, because it would also allow us to use the 2-3-1 Skip. I doubt this will be faster considering that getting Deku Nuts also costs some time. Hope dies last, though. So did anyone do some real test TASes yet to see how much time obtaining the chus and getting the nuts really take?

I haven't actually pulled off the clip with chus yet, i was able to get it to work with bombs, but atm i haven't gotten the clip with chus yet since positiining the chus is such a pain, but i'm actually still working with it. Oh yeah and also i'm not sure how much time you have from the warp while setting up the clip with chus (if it can be pulled off)

Also probably a vine clip into B1, right from the first vines.

Great stuff! I can't see any reason why this shouldn't work with chus. From the old testings I did while doing this part for the current any% run, it seems like all you need to clip through the wall is some damage source that hits you in the air (at the perfect frame) after doing the hover. The more interesting question is, if this works in combination with Ganondoor. I will try to find the time to test this myself as well within the next days. Even if this works, I doubt getting chus will be faster. It will be pretty close, though. I have some real hopes, that we can make this faster with enough testing. First of all it is important to know how much time it costs exactly to get the bombchus. I think the old strategy of resetting after obtaining the chus can possibly be improved. There are 3 possible ways to leave BoTW without restting, but only one seems to have some real potential: - Voiding out is the fastest way I can imagine. Vine clipping will probably just make us end up in the unloaded room below, so this will probably not work, but maybe there is some other way. - Going outside normally is with certainty slower due to having to climb both the ladder and vines and also having to crawl through the crawlspace. - Dying is also a possible way, but sadly not as fast as I thought it is. I just checked and it is around one second faster than resetting if you could die instantly. This is almost impossible to be faster. Other than that, there aren't that many places where we can save time using bombchus due to how optimized the route is already nowadays. Even if we found some new way to skip the 2-3-1 room it wouldn't save that much time. One last thing we have to work on is to find the quickest way to obtain Deku Nuts for Blank A trick. If we buy them in the shop, where do we get 15 extra rupees from? Probably from the rocks, but this sounds like it takes years to do. There is no real alternative to that, is there?

There are 3 ways of getting Deku Nuts: 1. Obtain 25 Rupees (My advice of where to get those rupees is to throw 5 rocks and manipulate all 5 of them to get 3 out of each one, 5 rupees from platforms, and 5 from shop) 2. BotW Deku Nuts Chest (the one behind the skulltula) 3. BotW Basment Pots, one of those pots contains Deku Nuts from what i was told Also for the places that Chus can be used that can save time is: 1. Deku Tree Cutscene Skip 2. Possible Deku Tree climbing Skip (Vine Clip) 3. 2-3-1 Skip with the room unloaded (need to test to see if it's actually possible) 4. Gohma Wall Clip with Chus (avoid waiting for gohma to come to the wall and entering the room a second time 5. Few slides that save tiny bit of time If using chus for these particular spots is possible, then imo it just might be faster by small amount of time. Only things that needs testing to see if it actually works is the vine clip to skip the deku tree climbing (and it also skips a stick as well), and the 2-3-1 Skip unloaded, only situation with that is, idk if you can megasidehop clip with isg and avoid falling oob because when the room is unloaded, the water won't be loaded because the water is what allows you to get behind the wall to start off hovering for 2-3-1 skip. My idea to 2-3-1 Skip without the scrubs is to hover off 1 chu, and somehow megaflip off another one to enter that loading zone. Deku Nuts shouldn't be that much of a situation to get, though imo obtaining them in the shop sounds faster, but i can't 100% say it is because never timed it yet. So the list of where to use those chus are just theory's that has not been tested. So yeah if the results of that come out successful, then i do indeed think that chus is faster to get for any%

Could chus be used for a faster collapse skip? Sorry if this is a dumb question, I don't know enough about this stuff ^^
Current project: Gex 3 any% Paused: Gex 64 any% There are no N64 emulators. Just SM64 emulators with hacky support for all the other games.
