Sloppy-TASed through the first three levels in this game, no desyncs. This is the first time it's ever played all the way through successfully. I will sloppy-TAS through the rest of the game to see if I can get all the way through it. On a less important side note: I'm curious why FMV cutscenes don't display correctly in this revision (4.0-8246) when much earlier Dolphin revisions had fixed them. I'll post my results when my TAS playthrough is finished.

A regression maybe? When's the last version that worked?

Last I remember FMV's displaying right was like 4.0-4xxx but I haven't tried any newer revisions until now. EDIT: Tried revisions all the way back to 4.0-3941 in Direct3D, all had messed-up looking FMV's. OpenGL fixes the FMV's aside from very minor graphical glitches and keeps the TAS synced so it's not a big deal(?). IDK what has changed, I thought I had good looking FMV's in Direct3D before. Maybe not.

I finished the playthrough of the game while recording the inputs and while saving and loading states very often to test for desyncs. I need people to test the playback on their PC's to confirm that the recording is making it to the end of the game. The Dolphin revision: https://dolphin-emu.org/download/dev/97cd723492941005690e8ddcac53e58d7e795f10/ The recording file: http://www.mediafire.com/download/alfi260qwioa01j/AUF+full+playthrough+recording.dtm The ISO: Agent Under Fire v1.00 for Gamecube. Google is your friend. Dolphin settings: - Both memory card slots need to be set to "Nothing" under the gamecube tab - OpenGL or Direct3D in graphics tab should both sync fine, flip a coin if you like. OpenGL will have correct cutscene visuals but will load before and after vehicle levels slower, don't worry if loading takes a minute or two. - Disable dual-core speedup and idle skipping in config tab. Also check the JIT Recompiler box. -Audio should be set to DSP LLE Recompiler. The playthrough is only about 40 minutes long. Thank you!

Just watched this, I had a desync around 144K frames, just after Bond shoots(?) the helicopter trying to escape from the military vessel. Bond gets killed and respawns in this room:

I desync'd earlier in the same level, turning through a doorway before going up the stairs to load the last section.

Here is a new playthrough recording file, this one syncs all the way through for me. DwainiumB and others please try this out and let me know the results if you can. https://www.mediafire.com/?0vpkhji1crog3dx

So I've run into a strange issue... after the last area loads in level 1 the game pauses itself as if the start button is being hit, sometimes an "insert controller into socket 1" message appears just before the pause screen appears. Pausing is the game's natural reaction when your controller becomes disconnected. This only happens when I am recording an input file, not if there is no movie being recorded. I actually had this happen to me in the past when I originally TASed this level but I was able to get around it by entering the load zone for the last section at a later frame. It doesn't seem to matter what I do now, the game pauses no matter what. Any ideas for a fix? I could just unpause and keep going, but this issue wastes 7 frames and looks silly.

It could be a game bug if it's not a Dolphin bug. We do know there are some inaccuracies in how GC input is done (Sonic Heroes Multiplayer being one of the key areas where Dolphin fails completely,) but I've never heard of anything like this.

Maybe post a savestate right before where it happens and see if it can be replicated by others?

I went ahead and continued past it after trying all possible frames within reason to avoid it, pausing before it had a chance to pause itself which saved a few frames actually. The pause menu appears and disappears in a blink of an eye. The first level is done and syncs with a friend of mine's PC as well, the in-game time ties with my previous TAS of level one. Starting on the second level today.

I will be done with the fourth level of the game today or tomorrow, would anyone here like make a 1080p encoding of the first four levels as a WIP to release on my youtube channel? I'm not that savvy with high-end quality TAS encoding and editing, the person will be credited for the work. I recall RachelB telling me that this game uses a specific audio technique or something, not sure if it's even worth mentioning as that was well over a year or more ago. Thanks!

You probably want to post a WIP or something every now and then to see if others can also sync back before its too late.

I have been sending a .dtm to someone I know every step of the way and waiting for them to respond back that it syncs before I continued on any further. Here's the latest (20th) WIP .dtm: http://www.mediafire.com/download/t5e23mlyeye7eyy/New+TAS+%2820%29.dtm This .dtm is near the middle of Bad Diplomacy, level 4.

Thanks, I will submit the WIP there and post here when it's submitted. Again, if anyone would like to do me the favor of encoding the 4 levels (8-10 minutes of footage?) I would be most appreciative. PM me or post here if you're like to volunteer for it.

Encoding... (Will edit this post soon!) EDIT: Wow... It's a game for a profy encoder! I did everything like Video Dumping guide says, started the dumping without any compression... At the middle of the movie I got a massage that WaveFileWriter is not opened. Turned out that I got low space on local disk C :-) I interrupted the dumping. All the parts, which were recorded (9 parts, each was 30 secs long), had a quality like a TV with no signal (lots of colorful rays). I did the same again, but, instead of dumping frames and audio, captured the movie with Fraps! During the recording, my framerate wasn't below 40 FPS. As a result, I got a 14 min movie with very slow picture and sound (like I was recording with 20 FPS). I don't know why!! I have enough strong GPU for emulating games like that (HIS Radeon R9 270) and drivers are installed. Anyway, your TAS is perfect! I can upload my Fraps capture if you want :-)
TASing is like making a film: only the best takes are shown in the final movie.

Thank you so much for your effort, I'd prefer if the gameplay was at full speed...

Oo a massage! Just kidding.. The trick is to just keep moving the completed encoded parts into an external/ larger storage since Dolphin doesnt let you choose a recording folder (at least not to my knowledge)

That was amazing! Did you do this all by yourself?
