(possible 5 secs or so gain)
Uh...you save time? But in the case that it's worded oddly and it means you lose time, is there a way to implement death without losing time?

Is it an emulator glitch or would it happen on console? Curious as to if speedrunners have to put up with it

I believe it is a dolphin issue (that has probably been solved in a recent revision) but I am currently on 4.0.2 stable.

If doing a death doesn't change the route, you could do it as a speed-entertainment tradeoff

We're getting close to a cutscene part, if that doesnt fix the model then I will jump off the side just to add entertainment value.

Does it sync up at the latest revision? I don't recall any major overhauls in emulation for gamecube.

Maybe because of my old dtm file but it stops as soon as it starts up.

Uh...? There's 0 chance any movie made on 4.0 will sync on latest. It doesn't take a major overhaul, any change at all can do it, and there has been many.

My movie was done on 4.0-1977 and it syncs on latest revisions, maybe on 4.0 it won't work though :p

I'm not familiar with the build number structure for dolphin but yours would still be 1933 (more or less) revisions ahead of mine Got4n (and only 1100 revisions behind latest). So far I got to the cutscene and Im still a floating face and swords.. I'll have a video up in a few hours so you guys can see. It's still impressive but its lame not seeing his body move and it also adds a little more challenge doing tricks when you cant see his body. Link to video

Actually, that made it more entertaining! I say keep it.

It seems that if it's that "easy" for just your body to disappear, it should be possible to find a RAM address relating to it and maybe make it visible with a cheat. Would allow for easier TASing, and perhaps an alternate, no-invisibility encode. But mostly I agree with AngerFist: this is pretty entertaining, and it's still very possible to follow your movements.

I love and hate the invisible body problem. I love that it is hard to see the prince do acrobatics which makes the various glitches to skip parts (especially small skips) more interesting. It just adds to the mystery of what is he doing except it is also difficult to watch glitches (basically he disappears and just reappears elsewhere). Unfortunately, that is also why I hate it. I love the technical aspect of the tas and the invisible body problem trades that for more "wtf" moments. Personally, I prefer the invisible body because I know for a fact that I'm going to watch it over and over again for a long time trying to figure what is going on and what glitches are used.

thats a great idea! I can't really think of how to find those addresses.

I'd go for a short death. Especially since this is most likely an emulating problem and not a glitch.?

If this is an emulation problem, I'd vote for working around it by dying if it only costs 5 seconds. If this is a true glitch with the game, then I am all for keeping it in there and doing what Scepheo suggested.

Its definitely not supposed to happen, its gotta be a emulator problem since the video routes im following dont have this problem. Ill die when i can find a quick death area.

I've found a "death" that actually saves time! Uploading at the moment. It also has some entertainment value I think. ;) Link to video Here it is. Saves at least 20 seconds, and should give you the body back! :)

The TAS is now at a point where encoding it is too big for my ssd(unless i sit around and watch it and delete or move the first six files to my external) :P At about 180,000 frames - working on the hardest glitch spot right now

Why encoding everytime from start XD ? Just encode part from where you stopped, like I do in my Mario TAS
