About This Run

This run is TAS of Richter Version which is in special mode of Castlevania - Portrait of Ruin. It will appear, if Whip's Memory is killed by Main Story and True END is seen. For this reason, DSM for SRAM creation is required.

SRAM

Testrun of All Bosses TAS is used as SRAM generating movie. DSM-> http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/get/1061623231/CVPoR-ALL-Bosses-TAS-Testrun.dsm

Tricks

Most the tricks and glitches used in this run can be found here: #2255: arukAdo's DS Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin in 11:40.35 and #3657: mtbRc's DS Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin "all bosses" in 25:19.52 Since it cannot Suspend unlike Main Story, Warp glitche is impossible. Multiple Hits Gliche is used like main story.

Movement

Sliding is quick. but, cancellation of a sliding motion requires the change of a character. The change of a character requires the time of 16 frames. It is necessary to take this into consideration.
  • Maria: backdash,blank*3,sliding,blank*10,Chara Change
-> (15936+15488+15040+14592+18112+17792+17472+17152+16832+16512+16192+15872+15552+15232+14912+14592)/16=16080
  • Richiter: forward,(backdash,forward+crouch)*3,(backdash,blank)*2,sliding,blank*3,Chara Change
-> (10240+15832+13432+15832+13432+15832+13432+15832+13432+15832+15280+16064+15744+15424+15104+14784)/16=14720.5
:The whole average->15400.25
  • Loop movement of backdash cancellation
forward -> backdash,forward+crouch,...
  • Maria: 8192-> (15936+13536)/2=14736
  • Richiter: 10240-> (15832+13432)/2=14632

Route

Since Warp Glitches cannot be used, it is necessary to clear all pictures. Moreover, unless the picture of the highest floor clears the corresponding picture in each place unlike main story, it does not put in. It is necessary to choose the simplest route in these conditions. A bosses strength is consideration needlessness.

Noxxa: Even though this is so far the closest thing to a legitimate playthrough of this game, it is still very nice, very fast and very well played. Accepting for publication.

It was definitely a breath of fresh air compared to the other Portrait of Ruins runs, where each character's name is shouted during the character swap. The pace of these two characters is much faster and more fun to watch, and you tore through bosses and enemies like tissue paper. I also approve that there's no warps or out of bound glitches, letting more of the game to be seen. Yes vote.

Very nice! My favorite parts were Richter flying rapidly up tall vertical shafts. The final boss fights were also very good. I'd say mtbRc definitely should get a nomination for DS TASer of the year soon.

I was going to improve Kid Dracula for GB. It seems I was beaten to it, though, with a recent awesome run by Hetfield90 and StarvinStruthers. (http://tasvideos.org/2928M.html.) Thanks to goofydylan8 for running Gargoyle's Quest 2 because I mentioned the game! Nice work! Perhaps a bit of a shame the bossfights end so quickly, but I can hardly argue with the speed with which the game is played. And it's actually played "properly" unlike the runs that use out-of-bounds/suspend glitches.

That was insane to watch. Also, I didn't know that Richter/Maria had an HP restore move in this game. Huh.

This is Vault? Really? The comments suggest this run is entertaining enough to be at least a Moon tier run. (Unless this run is being Vaulted mostly because it's a side category.)

Should be (according to the game) Richiter Belmont. I also second the notion of moving this from Vault to Moon. It's WAY too awesome for the vault.

I see I forgot to vote on this. I found it quite entertaining and I also think Vault is too low, a moon would be better. Besides, isn't this movie category in conflict with what is allowed to be published in the Vault?

Awesome. Thank you. :) Now can you fix the publication text? (See my prior post.)
