I'm back! Did you miss me? Since you guys loved this run so much, I decided to improve it by 1 minute, in BIZHAWK! I remebered how you guys hated the jumping noise, so starting from the street, I barely jumped at all!

Game objectives

  • Emulator used: BizHawk-1.0.3
  • No deaths
  • Uses Warps
  • Dodges shit like a boss

WHY?
PS: This is a serious submission, despite the submission text. Edit: For the people who think by converting this to a .fm2 they can avoid using BizHawk, this run DOESN'T sync in FCEUX.

Noxxa: Judging.
NitroGenesis: YouTube added.
Noxxa: Rejecting due to poor viewer feedback and poor game choice. The game doesn't lend itself to make an interesting or entertaining speedrun in the slightest, other than the hilarious badness of the game itself.

adelikat Unrejecting this submission for consideration into the Vault tier

Noxxa: Taking up for judgment again.
Noxxa: Accepting for the vault tier.

The game is hilariously bad, but the biggest problem with that is how the progression seems to be arbitrary at best, dipping into the surreal at times. I think it would be quite fair to compare this to E.T. on the Atari 2600. That kills entertainment value, but worse yet it hides technical merit. Commentary is great for pointing out triggering of invisible flags, but it falls flat when even the flag locations make no sense. Compare it to a game such as Kid Niki where one stage requires two failed efforts before a third jump makes it up a steep climb for no obvious reason. Even if it's frame-perfect, nonsensical hurdles make a video look clumsy. With that in mind, one part was rather amusing. The warp which was an egotistical tribute to a programmer who was for some reason proud enough to put his pixel face in the game. I'm not eligible to vote yet, but the "no" camp is large as it is. Nice improvement, but this game is just naturally a black hole of anti-entertainment.

I made it two minutes in before I couldn't stand to watch it any more. If the rest of the run is anything like those two minutes, though, my vote would be the most negative "Meh" vote I could muster (since I reserve "No" votes for runs that aren't technically well-executed). As it is, not voting since I didn't watch the entire thing.

Man, I remember the part in the movie where Kevin gets the screw attack. One of the most triumphant scenes in movie history ever! Things were so dire for that kid that when he gets his hands on it, you just wanna stand up and start cheering! Here, that scene is so blase. "Oh, hey, the screw attack. Cool, I guess." Doesn't do that part any justice.

What, how could you possibly have missed what is most undoubtedly the most epic part of the entire movie series? On a more serious note: there is no screw attack in the movie. I'm confused why the hell there is a screw attack in the game. Did Kevin stumble upon Samus' house?

In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.

This game is hilarious and depressing at the same time. It has to be art to evoke such mixed yet exhilarating arrays of emotion. It has it all, from frustration, excitement and dreamlike confusion to christmas-y warmth, schadenfreude and, well, ennui too. In a way, I am glad this game exists... "Congratulations, you have discovered my hidden warp. Brace yourself, as I warp you to the next great level." ...this remind anyone else of something? "CONGLATURATION !!! YOU HAVE COMPLETED A GREAT GAME." And I would not mind seeing this thing published. The run seems well made enough, and I actually did find it moderately entertaining. For example, Kevin's antics during the suitcase "boss" were amusing, and the run isn't too long. So 'yes' vote.

Lol this movie is great. Shares sound assets with Boy and his Blob? Also, why does Home Alone Kid get a screw attack jump? Home Alone Metroid?

Uh... While messing around with this game in FCEUX, I've noticed I had obtained a necklace that I never used in the run. Using it to kill a certain enemy on 1 of the floors allowed me to save time by not taking damage later. Which kinda sucks since this run was just published not long ago. Sorry!
