In case you guys haven't seen the news topic (which everyone should have since everyone should be watching that topic for replies ;)) I wanted to let everyone know that we have moved to a new server. This one is considerably faster, as you have probably noticed! I personally very surprised at how well tasvideos is performing. This has been long overdue.
I look forward to any feedback about this move you guys may have.
I absolutely love it! This must be the fastest the site has ever run! This was a great move and I want to express my appreciation to everyone who helped move the server.
Our donate page.
This new server is awesome. Even now that I'm on a DSL connection it's 20 times faster than the old one was on a high speed connection. No more 500 errors, and I haven't run into any bugs yet. Thanks to all involved.
Warning: When making decisions, I try to collect as much data as possible before actually deciding. I try to abstract away and see the principles behind real world events and people's opinions. I try to generalize them and turn into something clear and reusable. I hate depending on unpredictable and having to make lottery guesses. Any problem can be solved by systems thinking and acting.
Is there a way we can donate to the costs for running the site? I'd be very surprised if our new server were cheaper than the old one.
...then be surprised.
:o

I'd like to say thanks to everyone involved in the server change. These things aren't exactly simple, but this one improved the site a lot. Lot quicker page loads and no more Error 500 :)

Yeah, I've found the new server to work really well so far. Props to those who've been managing this; it's now several times more convenient to browse the site :)

<Masterjun> I'm just a guy arranging bits in a sequence which could potentially amuse other people looking at these bits
<adelikat> In Oregon Trail, I sacrificed my own family to save time. In Star trek, I killed helpless comrades in escape pods to save time. Here, I kill my allies to save time. I think I need help.
So, I finally got a debit card and was going to show my very late thanks to the coders who more than fixed the site, but I read on the Donate page that the site isn't accepting donations at this time.
Why is that? I thought the site was supported by donations. There's no longer a way for me to show my thanks for the coders' efforts or help support the site?

It was, until it was moved to the current server. Also, the site used to have ads, but those were removed.
A major reason for this is to avoid appearing commercial in any way.

Archive.org already seeds all our torrents, correct me if it doesn't. Or only new ones?
