I created this topic because it is interesting to know what material possessions are most important to you. I would like to be stuck with a laptop and internet.

A solar generator and a satellite phone.
Sage advice from a friend of Jim: So put your tinfoil hat back in the closet, open your eyes to the truth, and realize that the government is in fact causing austismal cancer with it's 9/11 fluoride vaccinations of your water supply.

Yeah, a computer (with TAS emulators and plenty of ROMs) and some kind of generator to keep it powered for a long period of time.

Are these supposed to be things I already own, or can I bring things that I don't personally own like a fully fueled harrier jet with an English instruction manual? Or hookers and blow? If it's things I already own, it's still not going to result in the things that are most important to me because for example a family heirloom with no practical purpose is something I would definitely not bring, even though it may be important. If I'm not supposed to bring something (like DarkKobold) that has primary purpose of getting me off the island, that leaves me to survival gear. Computer with internet probably isn't the most useful thing since you have to keep it dry, and you'd be spending most of your time finding food/safe water rather than looking at porn. I think it would be pretty difficult to decide what the two most important items are for survival.

As long as I had a supply of these things, I'm not sure I'd even notice I was stuck on the island in the first place.

A Chinese and American nuclear missile. That way I could fire a Chinese missile at the US and vice versa so I can start WW3.

For survival gear, I guess I'd go with a multitool (ideally including flint and magnesium) and an axe. For getting off the island, a satellite phone and a generator. For silliness, a spaceship and a Green Lantern ring.

Easy question, easy answer. A materialization-capable device and a bit of power that enough for materializing more power. I won't get bored.

A copy of the computer game Metal Fatigue and a deck chair. Then I can just sit back and wait for a game collector to come for me.

A guitar and a kitchen? Or maybe a bike? I wouldn't even care. I don't think I would actually use any of these all that much. So let's be really lame and take a swiss army knife and a tent.

I need 1 thing. Custom built iphone with a solar battery (which is probably optional). http://arstechnica.com/apple/news/2008/10/using-the-iphones-gps-without-a-network-connection.ars I'm sure there's some app that let's you use the GPS network as an SOS device, which will work almost anywhere if I don't have 3G/Edge/GPRS or wifi hotspots.
