I already know what you are going to say. You're going to say that it will be boring and that no one likes watching others level up. However, I think that the game can be beaten fighting very little battles and very quickly. Take a look at this short video I made. www.geocities.com/highsummonerbob/dw1.zip This is not perfect, I'm just doing this to give you an idea of what you can do. In here, I walk all the way to the bottom of the map without encountering a single enemy until i fight and kill the enemy that gives the second most amount of exp in 1 hit, all at level 1. Some people say that the game can be beaten at level 15ish without using emulators. Therefor, I can probably do it at much lower using Famtasia, because the time you take to do something affects the randomness of the game, so I can get all critical hits. To get to level 10, I would have to kill this enemy about 18 times. Which would only take a few minutes. There are very few bosses in the game and not many things to get. I'm pretty sure this game can be beaten in well less than an hour. Would anyone like to see this done?

I would love to see that done, but then again, I will watch just about any game being played. I do think it would be possible to do what you are saying, and It is a good thing you are going to actually play the game (see Morimoto's Dragon Quest 2). I never played any of the NES/Famicom Dragon Quest/Warrior Games, but I have played the Gameboy ones and I think it would be interesting to see if you could actually beat the game in 1 hour.

Hehe, i would be very interested in this as well, i played through the game but it took me awhile, over 3 hours, but i also leveled up to level 30 and tried to get everything. One thing i didn't know is that you could encounter an enemy giving such a high amount of exp so early on... but wow, to think that enemies that you encounter later in the game would be alot harder :/ EDIT: link isn't working -_- DAMN YOU GEOCITIES *Shakes fist like an old man in a wheelchair yelling at kids trampling on his property*

The link works fine, it's Geo****ties that's the problem. They ban outside referrals to conserve bandwidth. To fix it, drag and drop the URL into your address bar, or cut & paste the link into the address bar, instead of clicking it.
someone is out there who will like you. take off your mask so they can find you faster. I support the new Nekketsu Kouha Kunio-kun.

Yeah, sorry about geocities. Don't know a better place to host it. Anyway, if you look at the movie, you'll see that I get it from a metal slime. If you've ever played a DW game before, you'll know that they give great experience and have very low life, but have 999 defense. This means that you only do 1 damage to them each turn, and they run away most of the time so it is really hard to kill them. However, a critical hit reduces the monster's defense to 0, so it kills them automatically. Do this a few times and you are all leveled up. However, if you continue playing the game after the movie ends, and try to kill any other enemy, they will easily destroy you. Thats really the only decent enemy that you can kill at such a low level.

I would also like to see it done, being a fan of this series. Having played the game numerous times in the past, I will agree that it does sound entirely possible to pull off in such a time frame. Additionally, like Therealssjlink, I will watch just about anything. :)

Thanks for the tip Boco, i never knew that. ^-^ Hehe, those metal slimes, those infamous little buggers you love to hate. Yeah i remember never getting to fight many cause of them running away like that. I thought you were referring to beating those starwingers...well, i dont remember what they are called. They look like a bee, but with a pinkish body and a stinger, their heads look like a sort of bird.

Here is my idea so far 1: Leave the castle. 2. Go immediatly to rimuldar to buy some magic keys 3. Go back to Tantegel castle and get the sunlight stones 4. Go to Garinham and get the silver harp 5. Go down, level up to 10ish by fighting metal slimes 6. Get Erdrick's armor(should I do this?) 7. Get the Erdick's token down and right of this. 8. Get staff of rain near Kol 9. Go down get rainbow drops 10. Go to Charlock fortress 11. Get Erdick's sword 12. Beat game This depends on a few things that I don't remember. 1. Do you actually have to save the princess? 2. How many magic keys do I need? 3. Am i doing everything in a possible order? If you've played the game, tell me if i'm missing anything or are doing something impossible.

Get Erdick's sword 12. Beat game I know this is slower, but I have to do it this way, or go buy a potion to use so the swamp doesn't kill me on the way to rimuldar. Also, I would be able to kill a goldman or two for money to buy keys.

8 minutes into the game >_< It is SO boring to level up in the game my way. Since metal slimes appear so infrequently, I just walk around randomly trying to try and find one. Once I do find one, I need to try pressing the a button at every point until I find one that gets a critical hit. Then, I do it all over again. So, after 8 minutes, i am at level 9. I think that if i get up one more level, buy a sword, then get two critical hits against the boss gaurding the loto armor, I can kill him. Then, it should be easy after that. Right now, im not doing the real run of the game. Im not being picky on how long it takes me to kill enemies or find them. I'm gonig to do a casual speed run first just to make sure that my route works. I don't want to spend 10 hours leveling up as fast as possible only to find out after anothr 5 hours that I was trying to do something illegal. The reason why I am not so far is because of boringness I mentioned. I put it off for a while. I'll probably continue it after I am done with bubble bobble, which will probably be at the end of the month.

Yeah, if someone else wants to do it they can. I keep on putting it off. Just tell me if you want so that I don't do while some else is.

I would very much lik to see a faster time, but i'm not sure how that can be accomplished without levelling up some, which means the boss battle with Dragonlord must be shorter. I'm sure you can replay it each hit so you don't die, but that would be tedious in the best-case scenario. :) Overall the run is nice for a v1.. though i don't think there's much impetus as its not very interesting to hit for 1HP on the boss.

It's pretty long leveling up in this game to do a decent damage on the boss. All i know is level 13 does only 1 damage.I think doing what you say will take like 50 minutes or even more.I think it will be more boring.

If you get a critical hit to a boss you can do a lot more than 1 damage, assuming you have a decent weapon/strength
