Apparently it's called PSXjin. And from what I've heard, it's built off of the PCSX Core and already has Save States, Re-Recording and AVI Support.
It's currently in the Beta stages at the moment. But it may be a good TASing Emulator.
You can find it here. http://www.emucr.com/search/label/PSXjin
WOW THIS IS AMAZING! I WONDER WHO THE DEVS ARE?!?!

Sarcastic, sorry.
zeromus, adelikat and I have been chugging away at that emulator for the past month, and arukAdo has been our tester.

Meh. I'm not very observant sometimes.
I hope this Emulator will support most, if not all games though. PCSX-RR just doesn't seem to have a lot of game support.
I converted* some pxm movie and as expected pretty much all game seem to desynch sooner or later, with the psxjin beta :(
Also, in BoF3, the emulator ignore the input after the first battle. (pjm)

It would be a massive surprise if anything sync'd at all. The whole reason this project was started was because the original spu implementation was shit, and we had a coder skilled enough to replace it. However, that means all of the timings are going to be off.
This SPU is far improved from the previous one, no more need for Eternal SPU to get all the sounds, and the crazy sync issues with the previous one should be gone.

You cannot rush perfection... As we want an emulator that shouldn't desync... or at least almost never desync.
There is a huge amount of work required to make this happen!
Well, we also want an emulator that will support most, if not all PSX Games.
The Desync issues being fixed mean nothing if most games can't be TASed or even played.

True... But fixing games should be a smaller issue compared to the desync problems that is haunting PSX TASing..
Anyway... I am currently learning how to do more advanced emulators. Perhaps I can contribute something of value later to increase the list of supported games.

Actually, for PSX TASing desync issues are not nearly as much of a problem as game support is.

Well, I tried Start Trek: Invasion on PCSX-rr some time ago and it wouldn't work but it works fine on PSXjin. I think it is reasonable to say that the game support has increased with this emulator, as well as accuracy, as well as much less random crashing, as well as much more sync stability.
In addition, you guys are going to love the GUI interface & features compared to PCSX-rr. Oh, and AVI capturing works. But be patient, we've overhauled so much code takes a lot of time and testing, but it is starting to look pretty polished!

I had some major sync issues with that Bugs Bunny - Lost in Time WIP at first, including one desync that I needed a savestate for to get passed. Hopefully PSXjin solves the cutscene problem so this TAS can be done right, that would be cool.

This is some pretty damn awesome news! It's when you rush that accidents happen so take all the time you guys need.
I have simillar experience than adelikat, Castlevania Chronicles was freezing on start screen with pcsx-rr, now it work fully on PSXjin.
Yet i realy doubt it does emulate the 2400 psx games, actually whatever emu claiming it is bullshit, unless you have all isos and a lot of free time for testing everything.
Oh, and noticably, in SOTN the sound now is _WAY_ better than in pcsx-rr.

It didn't desync until about over a minute of gameplay or so, and the desync issues were solvable by just redoing some parts, so the desync issues weren't anything major. (I didn't fix because I was lazy). Also, I used the Eternal SPU instead of the TAS sound plugin, which may also have affected sync stability.
Also, so far the cutscene issue isn't solved, though last I checked was a couple weeks ago. This still makes compatability a greater issue than desyncs.

What kind of Plugin support does this Emulator have currently?
Could I pretty much pull all of my plugins from ePSXe and have them work on this emulator?

AWESOME. Even if you did get it to go past the start screen, the audio would cut out somewhere. The game is awesome and needs to be TASed (IMO), so it's good that it works. :)
Hopefully the sound is much better too. I hate playing Legend of Mana on the current choice, since the audio (mainly for SFX) is crap.

Would you believe that before I saw your LoM runs on SDA, that I didn't know LoM even existed?
I intend to give the game a try soon now, though. >:3
And here the first run made with psxjin !

The encode is terrible and the actuall final movie will be ~4 seconds faster due to a error at ending, but well, hope youll enjoy until it get in the workbench (once the site is ready/psxjin is released)
