I see Flygon's HD encode for #2938: DarkKobold's PCE Bloody Wolf in 14:19.74 has a sound desynching problem, and he told he has such a problem with his AVI dump. That sound desync problem happened to me when I was encoding [1631] PCE Bonk's Adventure by jerfo in 24:03.63, and I could fix this easily. 1. Load the AVI dump in VirtualDub. 2. Go to Video. 3. Go to Frame Rate... 4. Check "Change so video and audio durations match". 5. Click OK. 6. ??? 7. PROFIT!!!

I don't think this is the correct way. We should really find the underlying cause of the desync

It's also worth noting that the option gets exactly the same framerate for me. :x Just realized why that happened, shoot me.

This problem should have been brought up then. If it was brought up, I have missed it. Anyway, if that was the solution, I would like to know what other things were tried before trying that solution. This also means that the published encode might be incorrect...

The cause is the fact the video is playing at a wrong frame rate, I think.

Take a look at the SD encode then, and watch it completely. You'll see everything's alright.

That explains why it sounded off when I watched that run. Now I remember! =p Just kidding, never watched it =p

I'm working on one. It will take some time. The crash my system experienced didn't help it.

I would very strongly advise that the frame rate of video be left untouched. If there is a problem with A/V desync resulting from audio/video rate differences, adjust the sample rate of the audio instead.
