It's more of a curiosity than anything, but what settings do you normally use when encoding a games audio? For me, I tend to use the following parameters based on the platforms. Please note that these are all based on using oggenc2. q2: NES, SMS, Game Boy, and Game Gear (And essentially any other 8-bit console) q3: Mega Drive, Super Nintendo, Arcade, Game Boy Advance, and PC Engine q4: Nintendo 64*, and Nintendo DS (And pretty much everything else tracker based) Lossless FLAC: Pretty much any game that uses Red Book audio, or any other streaming audio Everything else is decided on a case by case basis, for me. The * is added to 64 because I've never really published a 64 encode before. I'm aware to people that the rates might seem really really high, but honestly, the inflation in filesize is rather minor anyway. It's pretty difficult to make a file that's going to make or break the encode anyway. Also, I do know that people will shout me out for using FLAC on CD audio, but trust me on this, upon comparing MisterEpic's Vorbis streams and my FLAC audio streams for the current Terminator publication, FLAC sounds a hellava lot better.

I use neroAACenc with the default values, or "lame -q 2 -V 4" if it's going to be an MP3.
