BizHawk 2.9 has been released! New cores

Lots of updates and fixes to existing cores and to EmuHawk. See the full release notes here: http://tasvideos.org/BizHawk/ReleaseHistory.html#Bizhawk29 Binaries: https://github.com/TASEmulators/BizHawk/releases/tag/2.9
Finally after a long time, Bizhawk now runs Arcade games. I was already enjoying the builds a lot and recording with them without any problems (even when the core was still experimental, it was excellent), but I'm very happy to see the definitive version 2.9 being released to us. I was already expecting the deprecation of FBA-RR and MAME-RR (emulators which I've always had serious problems with bugs and desyncs), but I believe that time itself has taken care of that. Many thanks to the Bizhawk programmers for making this great emulator. Even when a new version comes out, I'm always looking forward to another, and another version.

I need a complete tutorial on how to record from OpenMSX. This emulator is very different from the usual one.

I also want to know how to record OpenMSX videos. I looked for the OpenMSX tutorial but I can't find it and I don't know how to use this emulator for Tool Assistance. I want to record MSX2 videos, but Bizhawk (which is much easier to use) only opens MSX. Is there any way to play MSX2 game in Bizhawk?

I want to record from OpenMSX, but I don't know how. Can anyone make a tutorial for doing TAS on OpenMSX? I'm trying to record something from MSX2, but I don't know how to do it (Bizhawk is great and much easier, but MSX2 doesn't work, only MSX). Can anybody help me?

Can both of you just double/triple check the avs script you're using is the same as the GitHub since you're both referring to it. As despoa you're writing lines that don't actually link up to what you mean. And xRavenXP yours says "I don't know what 'file' means. encode.avs, line 198" where the last time "file" is referred to is at 173. In the version of the script I'm referring to, remove the lines 125 - 129 and 172 - 176. Rewrite Line 177 as "last = resized". To write it out the lines to be removed is (125 - 129):
Language: avs

# Pick logo file file = hd \ ? "hdlogo.png" \ : "logo.png" # file = !hd ? "logo34.png" : "hdlogo34.png"
And (172 - 177):
Language: avs

# Logo logoVideo = ImageSource(file=file, start=0, end=int((resized.FrameRate * 2) - 1), fps=resized.FrameRate) \ .ConvertToRGB32().AssumeFPS(resized) logoAudio = BlankClip(logoVideo, audio_rate=resized.AudioRate, channels=resized.AudioChannels) logo = AudioDub(logoVideo, logoAudio).Lanczos4Resize(resized.width, resized.height) last = logo ++ resized
Where line 177 is instead written as:
Language: avs

last = resized
Thanks Spikestuff. It worked perfectly in TASEncodingPackage 2.0.

See if that works.
I tried the procedure you said and this error appeared. Unfortunately it didn't work! http://imgur.com/a/tKXdyCm

Hello again, how are you? I downloaded the new version of AviSynth and TASEncodingPackage 2.0, but when I do the encoding (in global.bat) in this version 2.0 I don't know what to change in encode.avs to prevent the initial logo from appearing. As I updated AVISynth, previous versions of TASEncodingPackage are not working and version 2.0 works perfectly, but I don't know what to change in the encode.avs file to prevent the splash logo from appearing in the video. I went to read the encode.avs file and the command that feos taught me for the previous versions (last=f++g be replaced by last=g) worked perfectly in the previous versions, but it doesn't work on this one, or else I'm the one who I'm not sure what to change in this version of the Package. What do I need to change in encode.avs to prevent the initial logo from appearing in TASEncodingPackage 2.0? I await reply.

Great to see Nintendo DS emulated by Bizhawk. Just a question: how to use the mic in Bizhawk's NDS core? I only know this function in DesMume, but in Bizhawk 2.7 I didn't find any settings for the DS microphone. I await response. Thanks.

i got the same problem as xRavenXP - the emulator randomly closes without any warning "bizhawk.exe has stopped working"
In my case, this problem was happening with Bizhawk 2.5.2 in BSNES Core. And when the emulator closed, it didn't warn me that there was any error or anything like that and that made me lose the progress of any movie I was recording. I don't know if this was a specific problem with version 2.5.2. The luck is that the version 2.6.0 did not give any problem of the emulator closing alone, what gave me more security to record SNES games in it. I will do more tests, but I believe that this problem I had will not occur with version 2.6 and others that are released.

Hello TasVideos friends, how are you? Next, there is an option in the script.avs called "trimframe" and the value I found has the number 654321. I went to make the HD encode of a movie with more than 1000,000 frames (one million frames) and the movie only gives that 654321. I use an old version of EncodingPackage that does not have this limit, but does not have this "trimframe" line. What number should I put in order for the "trimframe" to be unlimited? I await reply. Thank you very much.
Set it to 0.
Thanks man. Works perfectly!

I would like to report a serious problem that I've been facing with Bizhawk, especially version 2.5.2: when I play a SNES game (or other platforms) recording a movie and suddenly I leave the window stopped (whether minimized or not), the emulator closes automatically without any warning and I lose the progress of the movie I'm recording. I almost always have to give "Stop Movie" to not lose the progress of the movie I'm recording. This is extremely uncomfortable. I did not see this problem with other versions of the emulator, not even when I recorded huge PS1 games and have been facing this automatic shutdown problem lately. For this reason I have preferred to record SNES games using Snes9x 1.60 (except PAL games, which come out without sound in this version of Snes9x and for these European games I need to use Bizhawk). What has caused these sudden closings of Bizhawk while I shoot a movie?

I downloaded Bizhawk version 2.4.1 and the Gambatte core is not working, only GBHawk. I know that GBHawk is recommended, but I liked Gambatte too (and this one is operating normally in version 2.4.0).

Well, I tested the possibilities and I give the answer: in version 4.0 the video came out with bugs graphics, and in version 5.0-8715 I put to create a movie. And the movie I created in version 5.0-10167 gives desync in version 5.0-8715. Is there anything, a setting that I need to do to not give the audio problem out sync with the video? I tried record Castlevania Rebirth (works with Dual Core disabled) and Gradius Rebirth and audio and video are out of sync when dump audio. I'm really sad because I just bought a new computer that runs all the current games, runs the Dolphin without problem but at the time of writing this emulator is being a heavy one.

Does this happen with all versions of Dolphin or only with 5.0? I'm trying to join audio and video with Sony Vegas, trying to sync video and audio, but I'm suffering and losing my patience with this process. I appreciate your help Dimon, but I need more help to solve this problem. Could any experienced encoder with Wii / Gamecube help me?

Hello TASvideos friends, how are you? I recorded a movie with Dolphin and the same movie syncs perfectly, but the problem is when it's time to dump. The video comes out perfect (with FFV1 turned on, of course, thanks to JosJuice), but the audio comes out completely out of sync with the video. Does anyone know what I can do to solve this serious problem? To record dtm I used Dolphin 5.0-10167.

Thank you. It looks like it's working perfectly now. The image came out clean and perfect, but I could only open the video with VLC Media (I've always used Media Player Classic, but it displays a gray image of this dump). I'll do an encode tomorrow and give you feedback. Thank you JosJuice!

I still do not understand. When I do the encode of videos from other platforms, at the time of dump the video I always choose the Lagarith Loseless Codec because it appears in time to choose, but in Dolphin I do not know how to do the encode without the image leaving with poor quality. When I spoke in a "dirty and ugly" image, it means a blurry image without quality. I already tried to increase the resolution but the image is blurry. My PC is an Intel Core i7 7770k, I have 16GB DDR4, Video Card GTX 1050 Ti 4GB and the emulator works, the movies sync but I can not dump the videos with quality in Dolphin. I have already deleted the Dolphin Emulator folder (where the settings are and goes the video and audio dumpado) several times but I do not know what to do. Someone help me please! What settings should I use to dump the video in high quality? The version I used is dolphin-master-5.0-10167-x64 and I can not use another one, since the movies I recorded on it only sync with it (I did not test later versions yet)!

Hello TasVideos friends, how are you? Finally I solved the previous problems and I made excellent encodings again. As I said, I bought a new computer (yes, a PC Gamer with excellent settings for current games) and for the first time I was able to play and record a movie with Dolphin-master-5.0-10167-x64. The movie synchronizes perfectly, but making the encode is extremely labor intensive, because when I select the Dump Frames and Dump Audio options the video comes out with the completely ugly and dirty image and looks that I put the best image settings possible to make the image come out perfect . What should I do to make the video look perfect after it's dumped? Could someone explain me in an easy way? I await an answer. Thank you!

Yes, the Encoding Package now works normally. The problem was even AviSynth, which had an obsolete version. Now I have version 2.6.0 and the Encoding Package is working normally and perfectly. Many thanks, feos! The problem was simple to solve, but I was suffering here to solve it and thanks to you I can do the encodings again.

I think I just solved it. It was the AviSynth version. I was with version 2.5 and I installed it to 2.6.0 and now, it looks like it's working normal the Encoding Package. It is now night in my country (Brazil) and I need to sleep, but as soon as I wake up I come back to say the result. Many thanks, Feos!

Unfortunately it does not work, this appears: AviSynth opening failure: Script error: o is no function called "ScriptDir" I'm really quite sad, I would not imagine that by switching to a top-of-the-line PC I would go through this with my Encoding Package, which is the latest version and always worked on my previous computer. But I hope together we can solve this huge problem.
