I'm just now realizing that this BOT is the focus of my aggravation as well. I also have received 2 rejections with one having a second review. This BOT is not capable of determining what is actually occurring. Why have a BOT, if it is not able to see the truth in this situation?

First, I want to mention that I was a fan of this game when it first came out. Although I never beat it, it does bring back some good memories. After watching, I was lost at how all this was being accomplished...but your submission answers the fact of what is happening to make this go by so fast. I haven't touched many games that can be glitched this way, but it is interesting to see how you populate your save data to obtain those red jewels. Well, this is a very good first submission. I am tore between Yes and Meh...but I will give you a Yes.

yeah. the newest version of the human TAS actually does have a direct path, but when i made this non-human tas i had to do something different. one of the hugest difference between the routes is doing the 12 consecutive frame-perfect shimmies at the beginning to get the quick 1st encounter. that causes jaws to be in a different spot then he would be normally. it's also what caused jaws to appear during the encounter, which i totally forgot about when writing my comments on the run. i was pretty surprised by that. luckily i was able to swim around him without any time loss. the main issue with controlling the overworld is "where is jaws and where is he going?". if i had taken the direct path, jaws would have moved NW instead of W at a critical moment. i'm also trying to hit a particular encounter trigger to get the encounter rng i'm looking for.
Excellent. What looks unoptimal to non-speed runners, turns out to be lots of studying to makes things faster. Well, I have to say this was interesting enough to comment on. I love how TASes, like this one, show that extra time savings that gives hope for future WR's.

According to your submission, RNG control is key. So, I noticed that your route was not designed to get straight to the area where you hit something (from 0:29 to 0:36). Forgive my ignorance, but I saw the same thing in your WR run. I suppose that is how you finish that segment ASAP? Appears that your speed running has paid off in this run. Your recent WR gives good support to the creation of this. Great job and Yes vote.

I"m not sure either, but that has happened to me a few times. Don't worry about that...a judge or admin will clear it out. Btw, nice to see your first submission here. As soon as I see an encode, I'll be voting.

Very interesting game. I have not been aware of the progression of Pacman over the years, but this seems to be a nice showcase for a different kind of game for this famous character. Yes vote.

Nevertheless, it still has some potential to have a decent TAS "volume #2", but for this to happen, the game has to be brute-forced for all questions and prescribed answers which would let you come up with hilarious answers
I'm not sure a volume #2 would be a good idea. It might open up the flood gates for endless submissions. If that was allowed, then TASes that have the same frame count could be judged as another volume for the same category, where different things were done for entertainment. I don't know, since it is a "Playaround"...you might be on to something. I just think that volumes would have to be defined for the rules so that it doesn't overwhelm the site.

I share the same sentiment. It is amazing to see that this game is still being cut. I finally decided to watch this Contra TAS, side-by-side to the current WR. I really don't follow this game, in terms of technical details...so I'm a bit confused on how you are able to skip the end screen of each stage. I looked at the history of this "1 Player" category, and it looks like you accomplish this over Genisto in your previous attempt. I wasn't able to find anything on this in the submissions. Would you mind explaining how this was accomplished? oh, btw yes vote! :)

I remember my first attempt at a full game submission, and it was certainly an arbitrary category. The selection of the game helped a lot, but in the end...it wasn't accepted abroad by the community. Since then, I have come to focus primarily on any% as my top goal, followed by 100%, and finally low%. For me, when it comes to glitched runs...it depends on the technical side of how it was performed, for rating its entertainment. After all those, play-arounds are the only other categories that I really love watching. Barring the fact that arbitrary goals could reach the level of moons for entertainment, I don't see the value in seeking endless categories. If every category was accepted, this site would blow up with publications that will devalue the lure for enthusiast who want to see the limitations and available entertainment, where their favorite games is concerned. I draw the line when the game has been exhausted in the aforementioned categories....as these new goal choices contain movements that could have very well been used as filler for entertaining during a boring part or less technical area to traverse. I tend to start loosing my attraction for TASes when there is nothing substantial to showcase, so I stick with the obvious....be faster. No vote.

I've tried figuring this one out, based on other submissions...so I'm a bit confused. I've studied the following two submissions, and crossed them with my own understanding (a few of my own accepted submissions): NES Burger Time http://tasvideos.org/4094M.html I bring this one up, due to it have 256 stages...something similir to what I'm about to ask. NES Duck Hunt (Game B) http://tasvideos.org/4003M.html With Duck Hunt, DrD2k9 identifies at round 27 that the hit box gets as small as it will and the speed has been capped. My newest, un-submitted, TAS is a C64 version of "Omega Race". My observations show that the game repeats after 5 rounds...which the games states "Droid Force 1 Eliminated". Afterwards....it appears to continue over again at the same level of difficulty. The address of 0x27 shows an incrementing value of the round being played. I've "Poked" the address with various numbers, all the way to 255, and I'm seeing the same count of ships and speed. In addition, the pattern of mobility seems to be similar...except that RNG does affect things because of the frame that inputs occur on. Because of that, it is not a situation where inputs can be copied to complete future rounds...based off the last round of difficulty increase. Any ideas on confirming an ending for this?

This kind of submission is very interesting. I first got interested in these type of glitched runs, when Super Metroid was heavily exploited. Its nice to see other games perform the same kind of "End Credits"? Its funny that this run comes shortly after I got certified in CompTia's Security +...where they teach you tricks to avoid buffer overflows. This is an example of what would happen when you don't take in consideration, the effects in memory for handling the tracking of where you are. Just imagine the potential access to company applications, if something was discovered in the same lines. Yes vote.

Level 15 repeats over and over...so it never speeds back up again. I had conversations about this situation with a number of members to know if it would be required to end the game or not...but feos confirmed that Levels 0 through 14 was all that was needed.
