I don't even know the difference between signed and unsigned, let alone know which addresses use which. Or how many bytes to look for, 1 2 or 4. Or what you mean by "check for read, not write" How do I check that? Like I said, I'm new to ram search and ram in general. Asking questions and getting feedback helps me learn. That's why I post here, to learn more about one of my absolute favorite games. I don't care whether the timer stops or not. I was simply noting an observation. That being said I did set it to 3 and waited till it hit 0. Boom, game over. Nothing special of course. Mainly I just wanted to see what happens as I'd never actually failed the escape before Another address I have is damage of next attack, but its display only. Changing it doesn't affect the damage. Regarding 0xFFFFFFFF, I never saw that. I wasn't viewing in hex apparently. If I had been then yes, it would've seemed suspicious.

So was anyone ever able to (or try to) find the RAM addresses for position? I think I may have found X and Y but I'm not sure. They work for what I want so I'm not worried about it. X: 1525A0 (2 bytes, unsigned) Y: 138268 (2 bytes, unsigned) Havent looked for Z yet. Can't imagine it'll be that helpful anyway. I also found the escape timer for the first reactor escape which oddly enough keeps counting down after the escape. Weird. Escape Timer: 09D268 (4 bytes, unsigned) Just saw that the escape timer starts at 4294967295 which is like 136 years. I wonder what would happen if I let it count all the way down. Other than a very long and sad life wasted that is. Maybe the world would explode. I'd still like to know the address for the other things shown in the video and the pic i linked before: https://youtu.be/qW5WxAX5BPk and http://www.antd.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/visible-invisible-cloud-glitch.png I don't really care about having them show up on screen like that. It'd be cool and all, but really I just wanna be able to plug the addresses into RAM Watch. Anyone know what those addresses are? I'm still not great with RAM Search. Took me forever just to find X and Y

I remember having a weird desync on super Metroid where if I watched from the beginning, or even a couple rooms back it would desync, but if I made a save state in the desync room and the loaded it then it'd play fine. The issue ended up being one extra frame of lag, so my charged shot ended up not charged. Went back and redid it and it would play from the beginning and not desync, but if i save state then load it it would desync. Sucks having it happen on psx though

Huh. Megaman X4 runs fine in BizHawk. A tad slow but not bad. FF7 on the other hand runs like crap. What would be the recommended sound/video settings for ff7?

Ah, so it is just In-Game lag. Once encoded it looks fine. I really don't want to have to encode to see it every time though, especially if I just need to watch a small part to see how it looks at fullspeed. This seems like it'll really increase realtime spent. And it's not like I plan on submitting or anything. I dunno. I'll stick with PSXjin for just playing, and try just using BizHawk for TAS unless it drives me sufficiently crazy. I just wish it would play back properly without sacrificing accuracy.

That was indeed the script, and it works now, thank you. Now if I can just figure out why I'm getting so much lag (been getting it even before using any lua scripts) I'll be pretty much set. As it is now though it's not worth playing, especially since PSXjin runs it smoothly. I'd rather have the functionality of BizHawk though, at least for TASing.

Sadly I don't know how to code in lua. I don't even know the ram addresses of things like danger value, x y z position and so on. Even w/o Lua I still want the addresses for those. As for using BizHawk, I just spent a good 3 hours trying to get it to work. Can't just load the bin. Or ISO. Or ccd. Or img. No, instead I apparently have to open the cue file -_- Will lua scripts used in PSXjin not work in BizHawk? I get an error when attempting to use the text skip one

When are the starting stats determined for Cloud? I can't seem to manipulate them for some reason. I always end up with: HP: 302/302 MP: 54/56 (Yep. Less than full MP) Strength: 18 Dexterity: 6 Vitality: 16 Magic: 23 Spirit: 17 Luck: 14 Or are they set? According to the Party Mechanics Guide on gamefaqs I should have: HP: 314/314 MP: 54/54 Strength: 20 Dexterity: 6 Vitality: 16 Magic: 19 Spirit: 17 Luck: 14 That guide is for the PC version though; I'm on the PSX version. Are the starting stats that different or am I missing something?

Awesome! Thanks, with these plus the dialog script I might have the willpower to make it past Temple of the ancients this time. Too bad that file is gone. Materia Keeper was not fun. MINOR EDIT: How does that train skip work? Just talk to her and trigger the red guy on the same frame? I haven't gotten there yet so it'll be a bit before I can test it out myself.

What are the addresses for the enemy ATB gauges? I have F5BBD for player position 1, F5C01 for pos 2, and F5C45 for pos 3, but I'd like to see enemy ATB as well. I set up this watch file a long time ago. I'm not even sure where I got the ones I have. Also I'd like the x pos and/or y pos address. Or one that tells me if I'm moving or not. If it matters I'm using PSXjin 2.0.2 svn0. Any help would be much appreciated

That would be amazing thank you! I can't handle the repetition of doing it manually over and over and over

So does that mean i won't be able to use macros in VBA? I'm using VBA-RR v23.5 svn374 if it makes a difference

It's not working. Perhaps I'm missing/forgetting something? i typed it in as is, made sure () {} and [] weren't mixed up. Am i supposed to replace anything?

In snes9x macro is done like (AB)(A).(B) meaning A and B on the first frame, A on the second frame, third frame is blank, B on the fourth frame, repeat. How would i do that on VBA using lua? I'm posting from my phone because my computer has no internet, so i can't download anything

maybe i'm not looking hard enough, maybe i'm just blind, but i can't find how to create macros. closest i've found is http://tasvideos.org/LuaScripting/Macros.html but it just tells me how to autohold. an example of what i need would be (down)(up)(down)(blank)repeat [part of slow fall in metroid fusion/zero mission]

Also, there happens to be an edit function, so you don't need to delete your post if you want to change something in it.
i deleted it because i answered my own question before coming up with this one. any other useful scripts? perhaps some ram addresses for ff7, such as timer?

how do i steal first try with frame advance? sounds a bit odd i know. i can tweak the ATB bar for the beginning of fights, as well as make an enemy open with a certain attack, yet i can't figure out steal
