Hello,
I've read articles here on analyzing movie files like FMV using hex editors. However, I haven't been able to find any information on analyzing Nestopia's NSV files. Is anyone familiar enough with the NSV files to know or be able to figure out what hex values represent what?
The reason I'm doing this is a project I'm working to assist with a Tecmo Super Bowl league I am part of. We want to be able to analyze movie files produced by Nestopia during a two-player game to determine if someone cheated by using turbo. If you compare the turbo pressings to regular tapping of a button, you will find a lot more regularity with the pressing of buttons using turbo since it's automated.
To those knowledgeable enough about the technical details about NSV files... what I need to know is:
* How many bytes is at the header of the file before the first frame of input is recorded?
* What would the 'A' button be represented as in hex? Also if possible, what each of the buttons would be represented as in hex.
* When someone presses the turbo button (that you assigned under input), is that recorded on NSV as a separate hex value? Would it basically show up as hitting a separate button than 'A'? This would make it much easier to detect the usage of turbo.
Thank you for any and all assistance in advance!
