I have no idea how you do it, but this TAS stands out for one reason--its longevity. I've been playing this game for over a decade. I don't recall ever getting as angry at the AI as in this game. And, yet, this run can be watched over and over without getting boring! How much time could I have saved had I known these tricks back in the day (Not to mention the pain I could have avoided inflicting on my friend when I threw the SNES cartridge at him...)? It's like being in 1992, but with 2k skillz playing the game the way you always hoped to! The pace is fantastic, especially for the Mushroom Cup! I don't know a better way to put it. Oh, and for the record, I sure "dig it" :)

This may quite possibly be the best run posted on this site! Not only does it redefine "flawlessness" with unparalled action-packed connotations, it brings back those fragments of innocence like nothing else. That awe of life, those magical moments that grab you with such intensity, those experiences beyond words all materialize in full frutition with this run! It's like being given another chance to run free the playground of sensation when all was sensational. A great run all the way!

I requested this TAS a while ago, so I must say the results are truly breathtaking! Finishing each round with an average lap time of 4 seconds (in some cases, too quick to record!) with a character I find mediocre is an achievement on its own, but outracing the camera is the course is truly phenomenal! Who knows, maybe one day TASs will be so sophisticated that they'll make the games look like nothing but programming errors. But until then we'll be entertained :) Do SML2 now!

Fantastically played! The most impressive is Olaf carrying Baleog (sometimes Erik too) across long distances. The Sega version even has an extra level in the pre-historic and candyland zones (plus two in the Egyptian one). My die-hard Nintendo heart aches for the SNES's superior graphics and sound, though.

Thank you for the feedback. - Wily 1 boss: I took damage for fun. It's not like it matters. - Elecman: The only thing that affects is whether you hit Elecman as soon as it stops blinking, or not. The distance the shots travel before landing bears no effect to the timing. I could have shot a lot faster if I wanted, but the shots would have went through Elecman without harming him. So I only made it sure to ensure that Elecman has a shot inside him at every instant he resumes swallowing them. Sometimes the shot travels a few pixels inside him before he swallows it, because I shot it early (but not too early, or it would have been completely through him before a hit was registered).
I know all about the boss's little recovery time. I just thought you MIGHT get out out a frame our two more (or less?). Anyhow, it wouldn't have looked as fun if you'd done that, though.

This TAS's just insane! Starting with Bomb Man's stage, it just becomes one huge programming error. Cut Man's and Wily's 2nd stage are nearly impossible to follow. I'm just a little disappointed that Mega Man had to take some slight damage from Wily's first boss. I also wonder if staying close to Elec Man throughout the battle might not have improved the time by some frames--I know you're into that!

I couldn't find the thread so I'm starting it. Biker Mice From Mars is probably THE most overlooked SNES racing game. We'll see what sort of a TAS-standard the racing game super stars like Super Mario Kart or F-Zero will set, but with Limburger, this game could make for a fine run. Good gameply, nice music, graphics suave--like I said, one of the most overlooked racing games.

This is a nice little TAS, and one of the more watchable RPG runs. You can follow the text for the most part, the powering up doesn't interfere with the flow, and most of the better music tracks are played out at least once. I enjoyed this game back in the day, so it's nice to have a quick memory refreshment at my disposal.

Too bad this game wasn't named Mega Man (number) and had no U.S. release at the time. Otherwise it would have been so popular.
I just don't think the programmers were very creative about their enemies. Frankly, I find Pirate Man or Magic Man sort of lame. I also have mixed feelings for the graphics. On the one hand, the animation is perhaps superior to any other SNES games. However, because it's so overwhelming, somehow I feel it doesn't suit a game as much as it would a cartoon--but maybe that's just because I'm more used to the NES scale of things (MM7 irritates me too).

Download the .smv file the guy posted at the bottom of page 1 and play it in Snes9x. The site here has a pretty good FAQ that explained it to me. :D
Thanks ^^ The run really isn't bad at all. As most people have pointed out, Gambit is especially impressive. I can't tell you how relieved I am that I'm not the only person to find this game difficult. Back in the day, a friend brought it over to my place because he thought I was a superior gamer, but I didn't get much further than Spiderman's initial stage either.

Not my favorite game in the world, but as the author pointed out, it's rather difficult (is it even possible to beat Wolverine's 2nd stage?), so a run making it look easy would be fun to watch.

I personally found some of the older movies more elegant. For example, using Luigi in level 1-2 to jump the birds, and then throwing the ninjutsus to jump the distance, instead of having Toad use the carpet seemed more fun to watch. Also, I don't understand why you have to enter the hidden world. Luigi throwing the key at the bird seemed faster than tossing that one bead throw times (though THAT is elegant, nevertheless) too. Anyway, I guess it's speed that matters.

How come all the SMB3 runs use firepower in Bowser's air ship instead of the washbear? Is it just to make it more challenging/interesting, or is it actually faster, other than for killing the boss?
