Wow, I can't believe I didn't try that before... There was actually an update available for my graphics driver and after updating EmuHawk run! Sorry I should have thought of that myself. We can likely close this topic since it probably only applies to my situation. thanks again!

Hello thank you for responding. I am using the on-board graphics from my motherboard, which I realize isn't great. The Display Adapter reports as AMD 760G And no I don't get any errors. The program just silently closes. I tried to open it in a command prompt to see if it would output errors, but I guess only linux command prompts do that? it didn't say anything either.

Hello everybody, my apologies if this is mentioned elsewhere, I did look at the FAQ and this forum before posting. I am running 64bit Windows 7 Home (Premium?) and since BizHawk 1.7.4 has been released, I haven't been able to start the emulator. I still have 1.7.2 which still starts up just fine. EmuHawk is by far my favorite emulator, and I would love to update to the newest version, 1.8! I have of course tried: Rebooting My Computer Re-installing the prereqs.exe scanned/fixed the registry for problems Setting EmuHawk to run as administrator and tried different compatibility modes disabling Avast shields before running I have installed the different versions in separate folders. I did try and run 1.7.4 on my laptop when I noticed this problem, and it started up no problem on there, but it hadn't had another version on the computer either. If I start the program with Task manager running, I do see it show up in there for a few seconds before closing, and I notice the emulator doesn't get as far as creating it's first run files like the config.ini before it closes. I don't get any error messages from Windows or EmuHawk. So now I'm at a bit of a loss on what to try next. If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate them, and I thank you for your time.
