In Aria of Sorrow, dashing widens your base pixelation by one, allowing you do go one extra bit off of a platform while still jumping. Does dashing in Harmony also grant you one pixel of falling before you lose the ability to jump?

This sounds like a poll-worthy thread. Which sounds more indicative of a genocentric troupe of expert dragons: "GREETINGS, MORTAL" vs "WELCOME TO YOUR DOOM"

Bleh. I still don't like it, to be honest. Then again I'm probably the only person who feels that way.
No, I'm still fairly against the idea of the double columned forums. I just tend to avoid the whole right side of the main forum layout now, since the only thing of interest is the Workbench, which I usually only access via IRC. I still think that we should have a dragon theme link next to the 'view this page in hiragana'. It would take you to "Elder Drake Bisqwit's Fire-Breathing Lair of Dragon-Assisted Speedruns", and every link is dictated by the voice from Hexen. Also, "gruefood" would be changed to "food" while "workbench/published" would be "incubating/hatched dragons". Friggin' SWEET!

Dracula is above sucking blood! Antagonist =/= evil. He is just pro-nonhumanity. *gets huffy*

RUN PAPERBOY!! Can Paperboy be the official 'breaking in' of all prospective submitters? Like, before one can try to submit something, they should attempt to run Paperboy and beat it in X amount of time with Y amount of points, both of which are forgiving? As in, 25-% from the maximum is acceptable, anything more is grounds for retrying. Granted, it isn't an official system, but it would help people casually work their way around emulators.

Not all Castlevania games offer combat with Dracula (explicit or implicit).

This is a pretty common misconception. You would be surprised at how quickly you will improve at making tool-assisted runs if you just do routine environments using frame advance. Not everyone starts off perfectly, but it's not hard to become a competent runner in a short amount of time. Just keep at it, and you'll get better very quickly.

Oh JXQ, what won't you succeed at? I would suggest that you plan for where and when you're going to need the dagger for the super flying attack of obliteration and when you're going to need other subweapons for other events. This is assuming that you're going to use Kaz' cool little route.

What? Purple Werejaguars inthe Floating Gardens? Maybe they're Werewolves?
Sure, whatever they are. They drop Black Belts, and Yrr just hops over them. ZURRECO DOES NOT APPROVE.

Save it to what? Game consoles use all the memory they have, er, playing the game.
If using a modded xbox, which was used as an example, you could have extra RAM available to you.

I finally got around to watching your run, Yrr. Let me first say that I am very impressed with all of it. The way you handled most of those encounters was fluid and flawless, and I commend you for it. However, I do have two questions for you. 1) Are you sure that you couldn't have obtained Lightning Doll right before Death? It will save you boatloads of time later on. 2) Why didn't you stop to kill one of the WereJaguars (the purple ones) in the Floating Garden on your way to Clock Tower? They drop Black Belts, which add bonus STR. The time you spend killing and equipping will be saved in every attack you perform after this. Otherwise, keep up the good work.

Very excellent run. I especially liked how quickly the bosses were dispatched. Quick question: is there a specific reasoning for your level sequence? Since you only seem to have needed to thunder chip to kill off Phoenix Magnion, why couldn't you just do levels from left to right?

I think the fastest bomb upgrade to get would be to get the bomb bag in Mountain Village.
Don't you need to lvl2 Bomb Bag or 500 rupees to do this?

Do you need Death's soul as in "I need to go back to Death and redo all that comes after that"? Well, it may be worth it if you grab the Lightning Doll soul in the room just before the top.
You automatically get Death's soul when you beat him. While it would save time to go back and get Lightning Doll, I wouldn't worry about it now. Just do whatever you can to get the soul with Great Armor and normal dicking around; it shouldn't take too long to eventually get the drop.

he had somewhere close to 30-40 for each, I think that's more than enough for stone tower.
The proposed route doesn't get any bigger sized bomb bags. The route also has Link entering Stone Tower with only 20 bombchus and 10 bombs, which is very suspect. To get a bomb expansion, he would have to be in Clock Town at midnight of the first day, and he would need money to buy the bag. However, I would like to see if the Blast Mask can be used for Bomb Hover Staircases. It refreshes every 15 seconds, and the blast can be blocked, so it seems like it might work. Any testers?

Speed glitch in Zelda II is probably the most entertaining glitch in the world EVER. The infinite BLJ of Super Mario 64 and the cumulative glitch/tricks of Super Metroid are also notable.

I'm following this thread even closer than AngerFist is. I would love to see a WIP soon, so that I can help this all go by faster.

I'd rather see an any% run. I don't think getting the fire uppercut is faster at all, can't you kill all those bosses fairly quick if not very quick anyway like all MM games espically when TASed.
It is much much faster to get the Shoryuken than it is not to. Every pickup is on the level path, and none take up so much time that every boss from Sigil onwards will die fast enough to cross-compensate.

A lot of this route seems really ambitious. Are you sure that you can gain access to Stone Tower Temple with just the bomb hover?

Yes, except that the mechanics of the game change dramatically in the 3 other forms. Also, some of the game physics have become more vibrant and differing (see: jumping off of platforms), and the new environments offer new types of interaction in general. While they are very very similar games, they are different enough that you can't immediately pick up one and, without any practice, be as good with it as you are with the other.
