This is probably a stupid question (I know little about Final Fantasy's restrictions) but why did this TAS allow for random encounters? Is it something that can't be avoided?

Star Control II is one of the best PC games ever made. My childhood was absorbed in it and it inspired a great deal of creativity for me. The moment I saw that someone had TAS'd this, I watched it. And loved it. And then I was very upset that it was rejected. The reason given for the rejection leads me to believe the reviewer never even played the game. Flying around on "green" or "red" backgrounds was part of the fun and exploration. It's impossible to remove and it's no different than rejecting Super Mario Bros. because the backgrounds are repetitive in the levels. I am appealing that this submission be re-examined. I have seen much more "boring" submissions be accepted. And to fans of SCII this TAS is fantastic.
