Also, you should have killed Bowser using the fire flower as well, no need to make the avi longer.
A lot of the times I've seen on movies measure from power on to last input. I believe it is faster to stop the input and have Bowser take a lava bath than it is to burn him alive taking more input.

That Labyrinth 3 Hell Run still gives me the creeps! For some reason, I didn't catch all of the improvements made...some were obvious (Marble & Spring Yard), but the others didn't. Either way, I had some good fun with this. Yes vote for you.

So that was why Sonic 1 & Knuckles never worked originally: Knuckles would break the game! And JXQ discovered that! Yes vote from me. I don't care if it ends up in the Genesis section or Concept Demo section: I just want it up.

Pure speed, pure score, and hybrid...the three categories. This run chose the third. Was the run done optimally? Yes. Was the run done with lots of repetition? Yes. Was it fun in the end? Hell yes. I only have one complaint really. You should have fought Captain Falcon at the end. But that complaint doesn't detract my vote. It should be obvious what that vote is.

This movie will probably bring up the question "Is it ultimately faster to get all of the emeralds?" at some point. I think that answer is no. But the way you abused Super/Hyper Knuckles, and even regular Knuckles... nitsuja, you might have competition. Yes vote.

Maybe I got a bad torrent, but my video length seems to be around 1 hour 10 minutes, not 1 hour 50. Should I try redownloading? ...nevermind...disregard this post right now. I forgot how Winamp formats the time.

I always thought that you could only take the six level path after beating the game, since I never remember being auto-booted out of the first level by letting Wario sleep until "level complete" unless I was actually choosing that level.

The cutscenes between each hole can't be helped. So, judging based on the gameplay... *jaw drops* Yes vote.

Just a quick thing to point out since I don't recall this being resolved: You can get EITHER a picture of Tingle or a picture of the Deku King for the heart piece. If you are doing a 100% TAS, just snap a picture of the king when you return the princess and hope you get the picture in before Day 2.

Won't you eventually get leveled up due to the fights you have to take part in?

Really liked this game and run. Good classical Disney music and all. Voting yes.
Umm...since when did Disney take over Warner Brothers?

I would recommend the Genesis version over the SNES in terms of a normal playthrough. You get more of the graphics during the intermissions, and during the first of Sid's house levels, you actually got different music during the match lighting parts. However, a run of both versions might be worth it since the level where you return the alien toys is completely different between the two systems.

Hmm...is it better to go for high score or high level for this game? Either way, I've played this game before, and I wanted my jaw to drop after seeing the AVI. Oy...I'm just impressed.

From what I remember about MP1... 1) I thought if everyone tied, or if no one actually landed on the mystery spaces, that no stars would be given for that. If my thinking is true, that could significantly change how this game is TASed. 2) About Eternal Star: Just beat it once and then you can play every board.

I recall playing the Genesis version of this game, and I recall it had...well, strange features for a game. It included the options for 2 players to play at the same time (either working together or not). It allowed for optional turbo, full turbo, or none at all. The last thing I recall...you could choose the type of mazes you wanted. I think there was a "strange" category, or something of that sort, and I recall one of the mazes not really being a maze at all, but more of an open courtyard with 6 power pellets (yes, 6). I never did get far in those levels...but a part of me thinks there is an end to it. Anyone want to mess with it?

Just the morph bombs and the ice beam are the two items. ...I must not have seen the one item run; I'll double check.

If anyone has the patience to get things from archive.org, perhaps someone would like to look into this idea. It came from Metroid2002 for the record. Who's up for it? Disclaimer: the title claims the game was beaten, but I'm still downloading the movie. If this proves to be false, please disregard and close.

I don't see the point of trying to TAS this game.
I wholeheartedly agree with this statement. Optimizations are very...well, I wouldn't say pointless, but pretty close to it for a game that has stuck fixed intervals.

I can understand that movies that were obsoleted were placed with their successors on the movie history page: see here. However, I don't get why some of the earlier entries that haven't been overriden seem to be out of order. Examples:
The New Movies page wrote:
2003-04-27 Added [7] NES Youkai Douchuuki (JPN) by Morimoto in 14:31 (avi,fmv) 2004-04-27 Added [3] NES Castlevania 1 (USA PRG1) by Phil&Genisto in 11:43 (avi,fmv) --------------------------------------- 2004-04-06 Added [58] NES Castlevania 3 - Dracula's Curse (JPN) by Phil in 28:32 (avi,fmv) Added [57] NES Castlevania 3 - Dracula's Curse (JPN) by Genisto in 25:57 (avi,fmv) 2004-04-07 Added [47] NES Kid Icarus (USA) by Sleepz in 25:10 (avi,fmv)
Since each [number] represents each published movie submission...why are some out of order?

For those that are having trouble...is it possible that the places you find the roms don't have them headered? I read up on this slightly on another board. Take whatever copy you have, and try adding 200 hex bytes of 00 at the start before you patch.

Now that I just saw the movie... I think I've found an optimization for the final boss. I remember that when you use the hammer to turn yourself into Pogo Wario, you don't have to charge throw it up. Just throw it up, charge to its spot, and there you go. See if it goes faster. Still, very good job.

They changed the blue Yoshi to Boshi?!? But...that's already an established SMRPG character! Plus, you can enter the castles again after either all 96 levels are beaten or Bowser is beaten. I say to actually go for this run. I hope the new coin locations prove to be tricky and difficult here.
