Intellivania, a homebrew port of Castlevania 1. Very good port, and pretty close to the original. One major difference is no weapon multiplier, so only get one weapon on screen at once. There's a glitch I use, the duck slide, if you hold Down+Forward and jump, it puts you in a ducking sprite but you can move. Useful in a few spots to get under some stuff. Also found that whipping in the air raises your hitbox, so you can get a couple dboosts like that. RTA run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rcvp3FmrTLM

Plyuk, a homebrew puzzle game. 25 short stages, collect the keys and get to the door. Gimmick is you can only move vertically by placing limited clones under yourself. I'm sure some of my solutions could be improved, but the best I could think of. ROM - https://retrosouls.itch.io/plyukzx RTA run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eVfq50yTszs

Horror Tour, a short adventure game, port of a PC game. Solve a few puzzles to get a ring, 3 skulls and 3 keys, and head to the final boss. RNG spots are the tarot card puzzle, and if you run into a monster in the dungeon sections. RTA run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNweWHhQOI4

Ninja Jajamaru-kun: Onigiri Ninpouchou, a 3D platformer. About 3 times longer than the Saturn version which came out after. Run thru the stages to the exit. There is a lot of waiting around for the next part of the level to load, usually killing an enemy or two will open the next section faster. Bosses are much easier than Saturn. Ninja Jajamaru-kun: Onigiri Ninpouchou Gold, a cool little 3D platformer. Platforming stages you just need to make it to the exit. Bosses and bonus games have RNG. There is also a PS1 version, and while pretty similar, it's a totally different game, much longer and controls worse. RTA run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L2-yRIcvwfo

Hissatsu!, a very short JP only ninja platformer. 5 stages, 4 characters, each with a different special attack. Pick 2 characters per stage. Mostly just run thru the stages and avoid combat when possible. RTA run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yV4jCzu2X4E

Suite Macabre, a homebrew platformer/adventure game. Need to defeat the three bosses. Have to do a few things to get the key to each boss door. I found a floor clip with stairs. If you hit Up then Down on the next frame after starting to climb, you start climbing down thru the floor. Only useful in a few places, most of the stairs take you to an OOB room which leads back to the start of the game. The biggest one is to grab the silver key without getting the fuse and going all the way around. I also happened to underflow my health, tho I was unable to replicate it. Seemed like I maybe did several frame perfect jumps off the ground after dying, so it skipped the death animation, that was my only thought. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4y9YfYBmb1k RTA run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jBxixXYBV3g

Sofia, a lock and key exploration platformer. Need to collect a few items to get the good ending. Tons of hidden items and paths. I think my key route is good, but as always I could have missed something. There is an excellent Japanese site that shows the map and every hidden thing which majorly helped with routing, http://web1.kcn.jp/kyoto/Sofia/index.html RTA run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GeKFsEDjZwQ

Paw Noir, a short puzzle platformer. Dying leaves behind a body and you use your dead bodies to make it to the ball of yarn at the end. Pretty straightforward, but I did find that you can zip by jumping into a wall holding a body behind you and letting go right before the wall. Only zips you up so I didn't find a use for it. There are also some warps, I didn't look for them all, but found one in stage 4 and 8. RTA run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=abG4rBCLvyA

Akumanor Gaiden DX, a short, 3 stage homebrew. Just plan out damage and ideally get random dumpling drops to keep boosting thru enemies, and then get a good pattern on the final boss. ROM - https://michirin.itch.io/akumanor-gaiden-dx RTA run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqBHE8hW7KI

Runn 'n' Gunn, a homebrew platformer. Short run, 2 characters, Runn can double jump and moves faster, Gunn can single jump, is slow but has a strong gun, so I use Runn until the boss when I want more firepower. I take a number of deaths to refill health, it's probably possible to skip some, not sure if it would be faster. Need to run around and grab a keycard in each section. Tony - Montezuma's Gold, a new homebrew platformer. Sort of Montezuma's Revenge style, mainly run around grabbing keys for locks. Can only hold 4 items at once, so need to backtrack in spots to use some keys early. RTA run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UjTRNvceRl4

Savage Princess 2, a ZX Spectrum homebrew platformer. Need to go around and get the 5 letters to advance. Found a cool skip at the start of stage 2, can probably do it faster. Possibly can clip thru some floors using a falling dead enemy. ROM - https://monsters-legs.itch.io/savage-princess-2 RTA - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iTpzysYLOek

Gryzor (Contra), a pretty decent port of the arcade Contra. Laser seems to be the best for damage. I did find a bug at the end, if you still have Barrier active when you kill the heart the game crashes. So I wait in my run but a TAS could just avoid getting it. El Tesoro Perdido de Cuauhtemoc, a homebrew platformer from 2017. Go around hitting switches to open the path forward. Need to collect the 4 pieces of gold to enter the final door. I do one big skip in my route, you are supposed to get the Snorkel before going underwater to avoid damage. But you can just tank damage and be fine, skipping the backtracking. And Spelunker II: 23 no Kagi. Sequel to the first one, feels like a romhack where they added a few small things. Falling now does damage for how long you're falling, so need to strategically do it. Ghosts spawn when you cross certain triggers, either on the ground or on ropes, so I try to skip them when I can. The game is pretty linear, each area sort of breaks down to sections with one key and one door, which leads to another key and door, no choice which way to go. Only real RNG is in the boulders that fly up from the ground in certain spots. RTA run - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NY51u0c7aI

Spelunker, similar layout to NES, but gameplay is fairly different. Go thru 4 levels, getting keys as you go to progress. I think my key route is good, you can skip large portions and several doors with hidden shortcuts, but I always could have missed something. You can also partially clip into floors by jumping and bonking into walls close to the floor. I clipped thru one floor, where the first gold key in Level 2 is, but there are no other floors that skinny anywhere else, so you don't get thru, but it would be huge if you could get thru elsewhere. Jackal, similar to the NES version, but also quite different. There are no individual stages, it's all one long screen with only a final boss building. There's quite a bit of lag in spots. There is seemingly a bug with the camera, if you are at the edge of the screen and move diagonally towards it, the camera will not scroll. You can use this to get to the very top of the screen to get past certain enemies, and you can see me do it a few times in my run. Dying downgrades your missile by 1 and respawning lets you drive over any obstacles for a handful of seconds. I used this twice in my run, mostly for consistency.
