Finished a 6 hour PSX TAS. Replayed back the movie file and no issues at all. Very impressed by the core and anyone thinking of undertaking a PSX TAS should have no issues.

The Integral ccd I'm using is not verified, and I can't find a version that's verified by BizHawk at all.
Can you verify my error on your end with a non verified dump in case it's something I'm doing wrong? Tutorial if you need to know how to set up m3u stuff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWNc38QH5LY

Okay so looked at disc switching more. Am I right in saying cue loading only works when BizHawk detects the discs as verified good in the bottom left corner (the green tick), right? Reason I say this is because my cue files that show a tick when loaded via m3u work but ones that are not verified as good dump fail to load with this: http://i.imgur.com/HGYo8gt.png

2 questions 1. Does PSX now support disc swapping for movies? 2. Can anyone mirror latest BizHawk somewhere? SourceForge is giving mirror errors.

Is this a bug? 1. Have the saveram folder empty 2. Start up game 3. Start movie recording from power on 4. At main menu, check that memory card is empty 5. Play game and save 6. Stop and save the movie file, exit emulator 7. Verify saveram was written to the folder 8. Restart emulator and play back the movie 9. The playback movie shows that saveram is empty Shouldn't step 9 have desynched and went another path since the emulator should have detected saveram? If this is proper behavior, how would one go about creating a movie where they wanted prior saveram to be detected that was created in that previous movie?

Beed, maybe it's something weird to do with UAC or having the folder in a privileged area. You tried running EmuHawk with the Windows 8.1 equivalent of admin privileges? (Most recent OS I've used is 7). ^ Probably stuff you've tried but I'd rather try and help than hold back information.

One thing to do is see if the .SaveRAM file ever gets created and if so, when it gets deleted. That can help isolate the problem. The .SaveRam file will be in Your BizHawk folder > PSX > SaveRAM.

I was playing Mega Man 8 (PAL version) the other night, and like Spyro 2: Gateway to Glimmer, memory card data wouldn't be saved when the emulator was closed. Is memory card saving still in the works?
I'd try updating. Used to happen to me but updating seems to have worked with another game.

Found a new bug; Spyro 2 doesn't seem to be saving Memory Card data. Using r8575.
This actually happened to me on another game and I thought it was how the program should do it but it actually isn't, right? I expect it just hasn't been coded in and will for the stable release in some weeks.

Some other questions: 1. Is the disc swap actually implemented for movies or just general for normal play? I guess this is for general since the issues say handling movies across multiple discs but making sure. 2. I know this will never be a thing for normal submission but is there anyway to make the disc combining kits work in BizHawk? This would completely remove the need to disc swap. These kits: http://ngemu.com/threads/disc-combining-kits.118402/ I tried it with one game and the cue file I loaded into BizHawk thought it was a TurboGrafx game. :(

Additionally we now have disc swapping. Load an m3u instead of a cue/ccd. To actually swap it, youll need to use the virtual pad to do it. Move the disc select slide to pick the disc you want.
Sorry but this part is confusing me. Can we get a step by step instruction? As of now I have the m3u file set up in the same folder as my cue files. The m3u file loads and plays fine in BizHawk but I have no idea what you mean by the rest. In virtual pad I don't see anything about disc swapping: http://puu.sh/dx2Le/66657d18e9.png

Not to sound ungrateful constantly asking for new stuff, but is it realistic to see disc swapping implemented in about a week or so?

Just done like a 26 minute TAS and not a single desynch. Tried to abuse saving and loading as much as I could to intentionally break it but nope. Rock solid as of yet. I am however worried. The game I am TASing is 2 discs. Will I be able to continue the TAS with the movie I have right now or when BizHawk finally does support disc swapping, will my movie no longer sync or even work?

The Controller Switch/more then one is REQUIRED for MGS 1. The Mid Game boss Psycho Mantis is only beatable when the player switches controller ports during the fight. Or they use a second controller.
Well if the only reason to implement this is for MGS 1, then don't do it (unless of course it's just to be a feature and be more complete of an emulator). The sequence break me and my friend found for the game completely skips Psycho Mantis and other bosses so you never have to switch controller. Like maybe if somebody wanted to do a full boss run you would need it but unlikely.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but where can I actually download r8419? I'd like to try the save states feature for PSX movies.

You can savestate?
No, sorry. Just did a basic one. Just waiting for save states to be implemented before we can properly TAS though! :)

Just tried it in yabause 0.9.12 (what BizHawk uses) and it's also bad. However, 0.9.13 of yabause works much better (I can actually see the game). It's still not perfect (sound bugs) but you could actually play on 0.9.13.

Follow up to: https://code.google.com/p/bizhawk/issues/detail?id=176 I included a video showing the problems (turn down volume... aka XSplit sucks). Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m_oIwrl0Qnc Timecodes and explanation: 00:00 to 00:50: Loading .cue file and fast forwarding. Shows game loading with Opengl but blinks in and out rapidly and once you press start, game like crashes. 0:55 to 1:26: Disabling Opengl and showing game working properly. 1:54 to 5:34: Fast forwarding through the intro and showing subtitles either not appearing or constantly flickering in and out. Some display okay though. 5:35 to end: What I explained in the issues page with graphics only displaying if you use the Look prompt.

Not expecting anything but: https://code.google.com/p/bizhawk/issues/detail?id=176 Later on it gets to a point where the right hand of the screen just seems to have a big black box over it and it's impossible to see anything.
