...... This is starting to be annoying. REALLY. Every TAS that i made was rejected or cancelled (well, for these previous, i understand that, but for rejecting THIS run, that earned more YES votes than NO.....this is just unfair.). *Throws the bag full of TAS tools, games etc.*...i am quit TASing. I stick with MMBN games, cause it's still a thing that i am good at (and no one complaining about them...i mean no one say something like "meh, i can teh beat your time you n00b" (that was just an example)). Farewell. EDIT:
c) Even if a good argument can be made that we shouldn't have those runs, it does make a good argument for publishing more unwanted runs
(don't think that i didn't read it before posting, cause i bet somebody gonna brought this up)

voting yes, and it should NOT replace a run for another game. that's silly. "We should not have two of these published here" why? is there a valid reason why both games can't be put on? Is it a server issue? is someone going to complain? will having both runs cause you physical pain or mental anguish? obviously the other run was voted to publication, so now it should be obsoleted by something that's not an improvement but a totally different game? if you feel that strongly that there should only be one game in this series represented (and i can't see why) then why vote yes on this one?
I agree. It's kidna no fair that run from DIFFIRENT game should be replaced because this run is pretty simmilar to that run from this other game...really. You not going to lose anything if you gonna AT LEAST accept it.

We have 4 Battletoads runs and 4 Metroid runs. Just thought I'd throw that out there.
Another good argument. If there are 4 of these games TASes, so why you don't want to publish TAS from Rad Racer 2? Sorry, but i don't want to hear an explanation such as "because run are similar to each other" or "because we don't like/want to have TASes from both games published". Just because you and few other people don't want it, that does not mean that others don't want it too.....

Well, thank you for positive comments and votes. About replacing the old RR1 tas......sorry to say that but these two games are diffirent (at least they are not the same, but similar). The main diffirence between them is gameplay. Major change to the gameplay in RR2 is that TURBO start (charge it and start at max speed). Also there were minor changes (such as crash animation or other interface). And one more thing, you said that RR1 has very low ranking (4.something and i agree with that) but that does NOT mean that the RR2 "sux big time" too...(it's looking better and the music is better too.....the game is just more interesting).

*sigh*...... Going off road, and crashing at the finish line WAS DONE ON PURPOSE, TO CUT DOWN THE TOTAL TIME. Crashing at the finish line made stop you faster, and also (about off road) i even started the course from the beginning to not hit it, but i think that hitting offroad is better than instantly slowing to this 170 MPH.......because you can hit offroad at full speed and deccelerate a little and after corner you could have for example 190 mph. About bumping from other cars, easier to made from corner and that was also for entertaiment......
I'm not so thrilled about it. For one it's a race-game without weapons or items. It's virtually a scroller.
Then, you say that racing game without weapons and other powerup, and beacause it's a scroller sux? ............................i leave that without commentary.... EDIT: if you think that you can make faster time, go ahead, cause i bet that you never attempted to make TAS from RR2 and you don't know that bumping and going off road was a STRATEGY (just like RR1 TAS by Saturn).

As far as the PS2 being backwards compatible with PSone goes. Does this mean that we could TAS PSone games on this emulator (in the same sort of way that we TAS GBC games on the VBA). I'm estatic at the thought of TASing Metal Gear Solid. iv bin speed running it for years and with this i could perfect my technique.
No. That's a PS2 emulator not PSX, geez>> If you want to TAS PSX game, use ePSXe + fraps, or something....

Hello to all. You remember my submission from Rad Racer 2 game (submission currently rejected), right? ... well....i am making new one :D This time i'll try hard, even if that speedrun will cost me the entire weekend of making (yet, it's still very small ammount of time if comparing to the others TASes XD). TAS is Currently WIP (Work In Progress). Currently i am at 5th course (halfway done). ...i won't say the exact times (no spoiler XD), but all i can say to you that i saved few SECONDS from the last one TAS attempt.....well. I should thanks to Primorial#soup (aka. primo) for this 1st course TAS that he made. He used very usefull technique.....instead of full breaking on sharp corners he slowly deccelerated. It saved me some time.... I hope that my next RR2 TAS will be MUCH faster and more entertaining. TheSwordUser

I see it's already rejected.....no problem anyway. I tried to made 1st course TAS too...i made it faster that primorial#soup! By only 0'00"2 (at the finish line) faster than him (but it's faster anyway). I tried hard for a better time, but i couldn't make it.... proof. I hope the rest will be better too...

Heheh...i didn't know that someone gonna "ressurect" that submission....well yes. I know that that run isn't "perfect in every aspect" as it should... I think when i have some free time i will try again to make RR2 TAS (instead of contra). Well.....one more thing. Maybe even i won't be able to made anymore TAS. I JUST DON'T HAVE PATIANCE TO THIS (sry for caps). maybe for one exeption...i was making "beat mmbn5 (later 6) bosses fast"....hovewer i paused emulator on custom screen (rest battle was in realtime)...so techniccaly i made a lot of TASes XD I just try hard to make that one last RR tas...but i don't know when.... Hope that next one will be better than current one. And one more thing.... RR1 and RR2 are NOT the SAME games (only similar).......so RR2 TAS can't be compared to RR1 TAS. IMO it shouldn't be replaced....

I made an attempt of the first level myself, without hitting the sand even once, and breaking as little as possible, and I got the exact time, by the frame, as TheSwordUser. So supposedly, hitting the sand as little as he did doesn't slow you down.
Sometimes hitting sand is better than fullbreaking (unless, there are trees or something). Because: If you want to avoid sand on the sharp corner you need to brake to 140 mph (that's an example). BUT hitting the sand at full speed (255 mph) will keep slowing you down a little....yup...A LITTLE. So after the corner you could have for example 170 mph....see? It's faster.

I am starting to wonder if you are familiar with these runs: http://tasvideos.org/movies.cgi?id=151 http://tasvideos.org/movies.cgi?id=114 http://tasvideos.org/1052S.html
Yes i am....(but i watched first two at youtube, the last one is JAPANESE VESION (where you can skip these "next stage" screens completly (saving ~20 sec.)

While this run is 2 seconds shorter than krieg's pacifist run, it is full of mistakes. I suspect 15-20 seconds could be shaved off this run.
I know it has some mistakes (couldn't get rid of them), but......15-20 SECS. ?! It's not possible (at least in U version).[/quote]

1) Everyone one agreed that you should get power-ups, this includes getting the spread gun or at least the laser (might be faster since you can avoid hitting unecessary enemies easier)
duh.......my question is. Did krieg use weapon powerups? No. And that's what i wanted to do. Complete the game as fast as i can without any unneccesary casualities and WITHOUT powerup (exept for R and B).
adelikat wrote:
2) You don't shoot the boss's as soon as possible, instead you wait until you get close, this is costing you lots of time
maybe....i just didn't checked my movie frame by frame.
adelikat wrote:
3) Don't waste shots, that looks bad in a TAS. There are many places where you held autofire and after a min-boss was destroyed to allowed to it fire off unecessary shots, avoid this.
you are right, but i MUST be sure that an enemy is beaten (i don't want to lose life>>).
adelikat wrote:
4) Jumping costs 1 frame. Not much but it would be worth trying to avoid any unecessary jumps (I only saw 1 or 2).
I know that. I tried to jump as less as possible.

I encourage you to try again.
....*sigh*.....i need to rest from this game a little >>. Maybe later...MUCH later... (btw. thx for comment)

Just to point about rerecording. You can continue your recording later and keep the undo count by opening the movie file you were making and loading a savestate while it's playing (be sure that read-only is off).
Oh, ok, thanks for the tip.

I made pacific run ~1 hour ago...but there is ONE problem....THE TIME IS 10:37, 4 SECONDS TOO SLOW (but in some places i was faster than krieg).

You are right.....ok, so. I decided to cancel this submission (rather no one will vote yes). And when i will have some free time, i try to make pacifist run with R (and B) power ups.

Maybe it's a dumb excuse but.....you were never wondering how much time would took to complete this game without ANY power-up....? Anyway...rather no excuse will help me so if you all don't like it...the sooner this run will be rejected, the better >> EDIT:upthorn, cause....no one still tried that (probably everyone things that is a poor goal)....and also i was wondering how much time it would took me to finish this game without any powerups... Looks like it was bad idea.....

Umm, why didn't you pick up any power ups? That's not a good goal if it only makes the boss battles longer.
It was MY GOAL to NOT pickup ANY power ups...even these "R".

Why did the rerecord count change from 265 to 1?
It's beacause...i made FAST FOWARD. I made two movies. One was big mistake cause i recorded the credits. I didn't want to start the game from course 1 again. So i started recording ,loaded the game few seconds before finish line of 8th course. That's all.......

Why did you cancel this? I was just going to say that I just watched this, and that I thought it looked pretty good. I haven't played the game, but it looked like you raced through all laps really fast. It looked liked you hit the grass a little much, but you probably did this to get back on the road after sharp curves faster. Anyway, this wasn't in any way a bad attempt for a first TAS. Good game, and good run, at least that's what I thought. Please explain why you cancelled this, because I was just about to vote yes.
I made a mistake. I recorded credits, raising the total time by almost 2 mins. http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4202 Here is the correct one.
