Technically yes, but it would cause the second half to be significantly slower. The jump is to set the takeoff metre to 80, decreasingby one every frame. This variable not being zero is the only way to obtain cape flight. Whenever entering a pipe or door, this does not reset, so jumping immediately when exiting the pipe lets you instantly get cape flight without needing to build up P-Speed again.

No worries, I remade and resynced another one just in case (https://tasvideos.org/UserFiles/Info/638476888783724522 .) I even managed to save a cycle due to a terribly unrecoverable macro desync in Farewell (which is where all my previous desyncs came from). The rerecord count is still inaccurate, but the edit had around 276 rerecords (excluding the 16-ish savestates from testing resyncs) so the new rerecord count is 71611 or 71627. I don't want to go through recreating another encode so you'll have to see for yourself. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Should the header in the BK2 edited to give the more accurate re-record count of 71335, or should it just be nuked?
I'd say edit the bk2, or if it's too much work just leave it unknown

I also have a question involving waiting. In Pekora Planet, would it not be faster to grab the shell before going into the subworld and do a midair to skip waiting for the goomba or would that just barely not be possible?
