Congratulations on completing your run! I really loved playing this game. I have the same question about the definition of glitchless. As far as I know, one of the most famous bugs in the DOS version of Prince of Persia (I think it's in most ports) is avoiding damage from falling ceiling tile with a crouching animation, which you used on this run, like 17:40 on YouTube video. Isn't that consided a glitch?

Hi, I did an unfinished 2 player run for this game a while ago. Doing on the co-op spawns more enemies than the solo run (and more lags), so it's likely slower than the solo run. http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/66003392185605584 About the enemy spawn. I think it has something to do with the maximum number of sprites this game can manage at one time. When you run past the enemies, if you let them come near enough to you when you arrive at where an enemy is supposed to appear, it seems the game disables the enemy spawn at that point so that it doesn't lag too much.

Watching this movie was a great trip down memory lane. It was entertaining to watch things I have missed 6 years ago. I can't believe I forgot I could jump down the small platforms in 5-2. Considering the general route is almost similar to my run, it's impressive how you managed to shave off more than 20 seconds with all those improvements. Great job, both of you! Unrelated to the movie, but something I think deserves to be mentioned: a prototype that contains the full version of Thriller was found in 2018. Link to video Edit: Regarding the discussion above, as someone who worked on the previous run, I can also attest this game has very tricky RNG. It can give you completely different enemy pattern depending on the mechanism I can't quite understand.

Hi, I don't have much else to add other than that you two are doing excellent work so far! I love how many subtle improvements they are even though the genera route is still nearly identical to my run. Also, thanks for keeping that dance moves before the first level's boss fight. It's still as hilarious as it was when I made the old run.

This run is amazing. I love all the clever use of the new bugs, especially considering how bloody hard to beat this game normally. Great job.

You can actually bring all three characters into the game by setting it up in the dip switch mode, which is the reason I was asking why the movie used only 2 players. This was an entertaining run, by the way.

Is there specific reason to go with two players instead of three?

This was very satisfying run to watch. I like all the complex movement you made to zoom through seemingly simple course. Great job.

[3567] SNES Porky Pig's Haunted Holiday "demo glitch" by Challenger in 09:43.01 [3564] SNES Pink Panther in Pink Goes to Hollywood by wesen in 09:35.79 [3563] SMS Master of Darkness by zoboner in 17:52.31 I found something odd. All these (might be more, didn't thoroughly check) have compressed JPG screenshot instead of PNG. Is this normal?

That was cool demonstration of dissecting the game. Unintentional comedy from sequence break is always welcome. Great job.

Yeah, this isn't exactly convincing. It doesn't tell us much about the game other than that it's collectathon platformer. Also, where did you get that Bad Box Art Mega Man replaced Mega Man Volnutt in Ultimate MvC3? He wasn't in that game, he was in Street Fighter X Tekken. Mega Man Volnutt on the other hand made it into the roster of Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, so you probably mixed up between them.

There're countless websites on the internet that may interest us... How about sharing those you know. Here's a rule: Let's not post something illegal or people'll find offensive. Anything NSFW, pirated software hosting web, lynching, shocking sites with extremely loud sound, etc. Rainy Mood - http://rainymood.com/ A site playing rain sound all day. Pretty soothing if you're into it. The Cutting Room Floor - https://tcrf.net/The_Cutting_Room_Floor A wiki dedicated to archiving unused stuffs in video games. Already huge, and lots of editors are working on to expand it. Radio Garden - http://radio.garden/ Lets you listen to radio stations all over the world. IsThereAnyDeal.com - https://isthereanydeal.com/ Show whole catalog of video game digital stores and compare the price, including the discount. Hoshi Saga - http://www.gamedesign.jp/flash/hoshi/tmp/hoshi.html A small game about finding the star in various situations. Gets real tricky later on. Requires Adobe Flash. Image-to-Image Demo - https://affinelayer.com/pixsrv/index.html Experimental model that converts whatever you draw on canvas into objects (cats, shoes, buildings). Bury Me With My Money - http://burymewithmymoney.com/ A guy from Sunset Riders falls down and says "Bury me with my money."

Does anyone know the author of that English translation? I looked at the related fan sites, but none of them tells who the heck made it. It seems that the patch wasn't acknowledged or authorized by the developer, neither. About the run - the game was built in mind for the player taking their time and exploring around its abstract world, so most of its value is inevitably lost when doing the speedrun. It's pretty fun to watch all the weird stuffs happening, nonetheless.

Cool. Glad to see someone's finally taking care of this game. It's a sad thing the game's only available on the limited platform, M2's remake works were generally great and this was no exception. Good luck.

As a person whom never played this game, can someone please explain what does it mean by "moonwalk"? I watched the video and I don't really get it.
Moonwalk is a technique that lets you shoot while walking backward. If you look carefully at the beginning, you can see the author toggles it on in the setting menu. It seems like if you jump backward during the moonwalk, it accelerates the falling speed indefinitely until you hit the ground. P.S.: You need to find your time to play Super Metroid... It's one heck of sci-fi adventure from 1994.

I really enjoyed it. Some like motorcycle sections don't offer much, but the rest of the game is packed with fun thanks to clever fighting strategies. Very well done. The part of the entertainment comes from the game's overly dark tone. The game seems to take itself very serious, but it's hard to do so when it's all about super deformed characters. At least you have those amusing fights with Misuzu.

Really wonderful to see all those careful route planning and luck manipulation. I salute your efforts on this run. I guess someone in Sega was really a fan of Nintendo, since the connection to Golden Axe is very loose otherwise, other than sharing some character designs and playing "Wilderness" in a few interior area. I learned about a hidden gem today, thanks.

This run doesn't look so optimized. While it utilizes damage boosts and several other tricks, lots of known skips are missing here, and there's common mistake when Klonoa grabs things/enemies while on the ground for no particular reason. It ends up being 654 frames slower than Tompa's WIP from October 2016 by the end of the first boss fight, and this is not even counting BIOS bootup (279 frames) and VBA's widely inaccurate lag emulation (at least more than 35 frames in-between each level selection, and more). I recommend going through this thread which includes videos from a number of players that may be helpful. Not quite sure if Tompa is still working on his WIP.

Okay, that was completely hilarious. Lots of ridiculous stunts and actions. Colosseum fight was especially amusing. Thanks for making this run.

http://tasvideos.org/userfiles/info/38379930316419987 I'm working on this. It contains several tricks that speeds up the game greatly, but this run is going for any% so it can't compared to the RattleMan's (I may work on warpless run, eventually). I actually made it to the first world's boss fight, but I wasn't satisfied with it, so I'm currently doing it again.

Here's a couple of games released this year (2017): NES port of Mystery World Dizzy became publicly available this week, celebrating the series' 30th anniversary. Action/Adventure game. Preview here. Magic Kid Googoo is an incredibly rare unlicensed platformer released in 1992, inaccessible until somebody finally secured the cartridge and released it in this February. You should check it out, because it's developed by the same team behind TASVideos favorite Metal Force. You can find it at the Lost Levels forum.
