To me, pacifist goal should only have one variant that focuses mainly on beating the game in as minimal kills as possible. I think the fact that luck mode is used pretty much across most categories should not make pacifist different. Luck mode version still beats pacifist low level one, so my take is to make the Pacifist Luck Mode obsolete the Pacifist Low Level version, despite it using an SRAM, as both are Alternative categories. As for this one, I believe it should go to Playground as what arukAdo suggested because well, it is still slower than luck mode version and also just a pacifist variant. For category naming, I think it should be now just "pacifist" with no mentioning which code it used. So far, I don't think there was any publication accident.

Alright cool! Also, it is funny that it is faster than zyr2288's 2011 run lol. EDIT: Forgot to say Yes vote xD Here's an encode for this run: Link to video

Before I watch them because I don't remember the game, are there route differences compared to existing branches?
Oh didn't notice the reply. Most likely the routes won't change compared to Any%. But gameplay will change a bit for X2 as it doesn't collect the arm upgrade which gives big boost to X's mobility. For Z4, I think gameplay will stay the same, and only the drop of Junk Armor that will show a bit of difference which will make the fights twice longer. Other than that, no other difference.

I'm not sure but should this obsolete the regular 96-exits run? Idk but it feels like it should cause they're close in time, but again this is an ACE version of the category, so a lot is different content wise Nonetheless, good run! Yes vote!

Made a cutsceneless encode for this run while we at revisiting some SM hacks. Wanted to do this couple years ago lol. Anyway, I tested an idea for subtitles to adjust their width while taking into account the AR correction using MKVMerge (for my future temp encodes). It certainly worked! Link to video

I do have the right ROM patched but can't remember from where I got the IPS patch.

Ayyy great to see this run updated! Gotta give it a watch in a bit. EDIT: A temp encode for this run. Was fun to see "2-players" but only "1-player" is used most of time xD. Yes vote! Link to video

Asking about these two submissions: #7080: McBobX's GBA Mega Man Zero 4 "no upgrades" in 38:57.06 #3466: McBobX's SNES Mega Man X2 "no upgrades" in 33:21.67 Are their goals now accepted?... Optimization can be reworked later but need to make sure if they're valid as additional categories for each game.

Encode for this submission. It removes all cutscenes as the hack has so many items grouped together, so this is better for smoothness. Link to video

So many tricks have been found since then. I think there was another case of a SM hack that was re-evaluated and rejected again due to optimizations.

I tested both cores, both player characters X and Zero. In all cases, I found that the player goes into the jumping sprite when the emulator says "4680 X". That is, I found it takes 3 frames for the animation to appear in all cases I tested, being unable to find any difference between the cores or the characters. For reference, the emulator's About screen says that the version of BizHawk I am using is "Version 2.8 (x64) (GIT HEAD#e731e0f32)" and "Version 2.8 (x64) February 19, 2022".
Yep, if you test against an older version (I tested against BizHawk 2.3), you will notice it immediately.

I would like to understand what you mean by "no delay", because I tested Mega Man X5 on both cores in 2.8, and I was unable to find a difference so far.
Well, the delay is in how the emulator responds to an input. For example, in Octoshock 2.8, if you press X to jump, it will only take 2 frames for the animation to appear on screen, while in later versions or Nymashock, it will take 3 frames.

[1103] NES Mega Man by Deign in 15:29.27 I feel that movie is very suitable for Obsolete Delight. While the tricks aren't game breaking, the gameplay feels so clean, consistently performs zips, and fully finishes all stages.

After watching this one and the Luck Mode version, I am more convinced that Luck Mode is way better at handling this category, though because they're both similar after couple minutes, I guess they both fine? Either way, I am still more with Luck Mode version as it felt more enjoyable than this one, I'm voting Meh here.

Fair enough, but overall, this was enjoyable to watch. I guess I'll give Normal Mode a watch later.

Wow, that Shaft skip caught me off guard! That was a really great Pacifist TAS! Big Yes vote! I assume because of low level Wingsmashing wasn't at its full potential. I didn't watch Normal Mode yet, so I'm thinking is it more entertaining than Luck Mode? This one felt so good and fast paced for a Pacifist run, and seeing the other movie slower... I guess I have to watch and see.
