So, I use Bizhawk and have played around with Tasing a bit of Super Metroid. I looked around a bit here and on youtube for TAS videos of common games. What I was surprised by is that some games seem to have TAS's of mainly glitching but not that many of doing glitchless runs. It made me wonder if this is what is expected from TAS?
For instance, looking under NES and Mega Man 1. There are 2 very fast playthroughs. Reading them it is apparent that there are tons of glitches. And that is fine if this is what you like. But then is that was is expected? If someone made a full run without avoiding mandatory fights would that have room on this site or would your run just be considered too slow and be rejected?
I get that the rules are mainly Subjective and maybe it's more about being voted as an interesting enough of a run to be accepted. It's just that I would have thought some of these games would have many more videos. Perhaps its just that there are not that many Tasers out there.
Any insights would be appreciated.
