Thanks a lot, man. I left my emulator running on this one recording, and it started lagging, and so I had to stop recording it. And that sucked. Again, thanks.

Okay, thanks. I just don't know how to continue recording the same run from where I left off after turning the emulator off..

Fractal Fusion made a far better speed run than I'd imagined. Oy, this is going to be difficult...

Yooo, it's me. I'm thinking of picking up this project again. But first, I have an important question. I'm currently using version v1.52 of snes9x. And I wonder... How do you record a video, stop the video, view your progress, then append more progress to the end of your previously stopped video? Can this be done with this version or do I have to go back and download an earlier version? If that would be the case, then dang. 'Cuz I like v1.52...

Ok, I'll do that. The boss fight doesn't need to be included, right? Since I already killed all the bosses on the savestate that I use for optimizing, and testing.

So nobody watched it? Okay... then... I'm after more than just beating FractalFusion's run, I want to come as close to perfection as I can. I didn't make this thread to be told whether TASing was right for me, I simply wanted an opinion on whether the wall-jumping was fast enough for a run. Guess I won't ask you guys anymore. You weren't that helpful. *Edit* Please watch it before you judge it. Or me. **Edit** And RELAX guys, this isn't the actual speed run, it's a test run of me kick-jumping up a wall. So yeah, I'm too lazy to check FF's version (Even though I did after I posted this), that doesn't mean I won't do my best for the ACTUAL speed run when the optimizing, and testing is over with and done. So don't be telling me to quit. Is laziness a crime? Jeez.

Is this fast enough for speed-running? I'm too lazy to go check FractalFusion's speedrun to compare speeds. Just... Someone said my wallclimbing was slow. So... It's only one wallclimb, and it doesn't go through the ladder. I was also too lazy to do that. I could probably climb the wall faster, if I put more time into it. :p Here 'tis. http://dehacked.2y.net/microstorage.php/info/1890828526/Rockman%20X%203%20%28J%29.smv

haha, yeah. Sounds like a project. I'll pass on that, but thanks for the answer.

Yeeeeaaahhh, me again. And I don't have a critical issue that needs to be answered RIGHT away. I was just wondering if there's a way to turn off the background layer in pcsx, or foreground layer, or certain layers of sprites, like in the TASing snes emulator on this site. Not zsnes, but the other one. Is there? Or is there a better emulator for that? Sorry, I hate to be so off-topic, since this site is about TASing, and my question has nothing to do with TASing. I can live without layer options. I was just curious. It would just make it a lot easier to extract sprites from the game. (MM X6) I've looked around for such an option for quite a while now, and there's really not much to explore on this emulator. It's like zsnes, except not as user-friendly. ... Actually, now that I think about it, maybe there isn't. Since most psx games are 3D, I have no idea where hiding layers in a 3D graphics game would be useful. Well, I don't know, but I'd like to verify it. Thanks in advance. Sorry for the dumb question. I feel stupid. P.S. For the record, I did google it. Nothing useful popped up on the first page.

The new rom is working fine. Case closed. Seriously, though. Thank you for your help.

Surprising. I always find PSX roms in less than 5 minutes.
Well I think I've found a good rom, at last. Pretty sure it comes with a .cue, and the rom itself was around 572 mb. Then I can finally go to sleep. =_=

It's not necessarily the wrong rom, psx roms are often compressed and they work fine that way in an emulator. I don't see anything wrong in the screen shots. Have tried running it as an administrator?
Yep. Just now. Didn't do anything.

Well, I click on the emulator icon in the file, the emulator opens, then I go to open a rom, and then I get the error. Okay, nevermind then.

So what, do I just go download a random .cue file of Megaman X6, or is it supposed to come with it? It was hard enough finding that ehh... Rom thingy. I dunno if you'd call it a rom, but you know what I mean. A lot of the links I found were outdated. This was one of the very few I could find. *Edit* Nope, I don't think it was interrupted. Maybe the download was just incomplete. Got any idea where I could find a better rom then?

The one this site provides a handy link to. Well, in the screenshots, you should be able to figure it out. CLEARLY I've got something all messed up. I swear. I just want to get the sprites for now.

I'm going through complete bullshit trying to get the damn thing configurated. So I end up FINALLY getting all the dll files it requests. Then I get my game, I open it with the emulator... And it says the program has stopped working because something (It doesn't specify what) Has caused it to stop working. Ugh, I'm just trying to get the sprites from Mega Man X6. Well, and it would be fun to TAS, but I'll be TAS'ing X3 first. *Cough* Anyway. Is it because I don't have the right Graphics Plugin? I dunno where to find them, I've googled them. But I couldn't really find anything. Random problems pop up one after another. How do you people set this friggen' thing up?! I suppose you guys are gonna wanna know what kinda files I've been using. I'll get to that in a second. Right now, I have to restart my computer. Blaaah, screenshots in a second. Configuration: The dll files: Plugins: The error I get: Ah, yeah. I use Win7 OS. If that makes any difference. Good ol' XP never seemed to have these lame problems. Hope I've provided sufficient information.

The theme from Ninja Gaiden 2. Seems everyone loved this theme. It's catchy to say the least. But here's the link. Listen to the whole thing. If you want, you can skip the beginning part to where the song actually plays. That would be 0:48. http://www.youtuberepeat.com/watch/?v=OBZoTG7MIwE&feature=related So tell me what you think? In my opinion, it enhances all speedruns with awesomeness as background music. I watched a Megaman X3 speedrun last night with this playing in the background. It was cool.

So... Every time I go to download a video, it tells me I need a different version of snes9x to view it. I downloaded the one from this site, or the one this site links to, whatever. They don't work. I mean they work, but they don't fix the problem. I've done a few things before resorting to asking in the forum. I even changed the video file name to be EXACTLY what mine always save as. Just in case. Didn't work. So yeah. I'm confused here.

Just to mark the beginning of my Mega Man X3 TAS run project. It'll probably take a long time.
