i will give someone a 5 dollar amazon giftcard if they do a low% no-wrong-warp OOT speedrun and take no longer than 1 hour. That seems fair based off this http://tasvideos.org/1616M.html , but if it isn't let me know. PM me if interested.
also, is there a place for "bounties" for speedruns? i think SDA used to have one.
I don't know if it's compatible with the release version, but a TAS of Crash Course would be very impressive. It's shorter than the other ones, so a time around 7 minutes would be possible.
speaking of which: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BpkMXn0dFyQ i could probably get 7 minutes if i kill the tanks faster. i need to use more luck manipulation, which(seeing as it would something along the lines of "play the whole level and then see if you get gas cans at the VERY END") is a real pain.
anyways, enjoy.
A number of things:
If you need any other info (like improvements to your current runs), just ask. I'm glad to help.
Thanks for the tips! this is really just to jumpstart L4D tasing, but if no one else moves in on the scene then i will definitely implented bunnyhopping. as far as version glitches, trust me i know :p but im not sure how i would go about unupdating it. any ideas?

Your No Mercy video mentions that this is possible on a 360. How do you access the console on an XBox 360?
You can't, but in theory nothing i do in that run would be impossible. i think.
I don't know that he was trying to submit it here flop. I think he was just trying to show us something cool, which he did.
I enjoyed No Mercy, haven't had a chance to check out the 2nd one.
A few questions - before the 'rescue call', I never saw a hunter, or smoker, and only 1 boomer. How did this happen? Also, was this at easy difficulty, or did no zombie ever hit you?
Also, is it a PC only thing to play by yourself? I've only played on the 360, and the CPU players are always there.
Don't plan on submitting, just wanted an appreciative audience.
You may have noticed the number of Common Infected was pretty sparse too. When you're running with only one guy and not stopping for anything, the Common Infected in the area I'm running from don't even see me, so they just stand there. This causes the next area to not spawn CI since theres a bunch already spawned. A similar thing happens with the special infected. They only spawn if you are in an attackable position. Since i move so fast, they just stay in ghost mode chasing behind me.
It was on easy and i do get hit a few times.
Yes, i deleted the other survivors. pc only.

I thought the main problem with this kind of tasing was that slowing down the timescale changed the physics, so that things where possible that shouldn't be.
there was talk at SDA about making a mod to make hl tasable but it hasn't happened.
hmm i dont think this applies to l4d. you can do all the things i did on an xbox if your patient enough.
anywho im gonna make more if you like it.
im gonna go get dinner so i can hunker down and watch this. so far ive watched 3 minutes and seen like 5 new glitches, which is a big compliment, since ive been obsessed with nintendo glitches sense this games release.
Im just posting this so you can compare
Someone from the OoT Thread wrote:
A minimilist run would be possible, but speedrunning like that would be very difficult. You also run into the issue of which items you get/skip. I think this is the minimum:
Kokiri Sword
Master Sword
Deku Shield
Mirror Shield
Kokiri Boots
Kokiri Tunic
Silver Scale/Gold Scale + Letter in Bottle w/Bottle*A
Boomerang
Bombchus
Goron Bracelet/Silver Gauntlets/Bomb Bag*B
Deku Sticks*C
Fairy Bow
Light Arrows
Hover Boots
Hookshot
Fairy Ocarina
Ocarina of Time
Saria's Song*D
Zelda's Lullaby*E
Magic Beans
Song of Time
Requiem of Spirit/Gerudo Membership Pass(hint: pick Requirem)
Minuet of Forest
Kokiri Emerald, Goron Ruby, Zora Sapphire
Light Medallion, Shadow Medallion, Spirit Medallion
*A - If you can bombchu hover over King Zora, this becomes unnessecary.
*B - If you can manage to kill King Dodongo with Bombchus, this becomes unnessecary for Kid Link. However, with no shield as an adult until the Mirror Shield, ground jumping becomes impossible. If you can't glitch past the silver block in the first room of adult spirit without a shield, you have to get the Silver Gauntlets or the Hylain Shield, and the Silver Gauntlets make life so much easier that you'd be a fool to not pick them.
*C - New tricks in the Deku Tree let you get out of the forest without them. They aren't needed in Jabu Jabu's Belly, and with all the sequence breaks in Dodongo's Cavern, you might be able to get away without using them there either. That just leaves child spirit for Deku Sticks, and if shenanagans can get you past, that's good. If they can't but you can get to Bombchus without Deku Sticks and you can either beat King Dodongo with Bombchus or can get to the Mirror Shield without the Hylian Shield or silver gauntlets, you could skip Deku Sticks in favor of the Goron Bracelet/Bombs if KD isn't skippable(note: you would have had to get one of those or Silver Gauntlets anyway in that case), in favor of the Hylian Shield if you can't get to the Mirror Shield and if those are needed, or just plain to cut down the items collected notably if you can pull off both tricks.
*D - If you can hover over Mido, you can avoid this.
So, those are a few questions for low%. Can you actually beat King Dodongo with Bombchus(I've been told hovering can trick that; I am skeptical), can you bomb hover past King Zora, and can you get to the Mirror Shield without Silver Gauntlets or the Hylian Shield? I think all fairy interactions are unnessecary as extending early shadow can let you skip the use of Din's Fire there, and I don't think you actually need fire anywhere else in the run. Farore's Wind and Nayru's Love were just conveniences anyway. No magic meter is nice; infinite magic for Light Arrows! Remember you can get infinite Bombchus from Bombchu Bowling, and that's the only way you will be getting more. Then again, I don't know what the trigger for that to start is. If it's getting the Bomb Bag, you're out of luck on that front and had better make every Bombchu count(you can get more in the Bottom of the Well once, and while it's a little late, there are some in Ganon's Castle).
It would be extremely painful to do a low% on this, let alone as a speedrun. It would take a very long time in all liklihood for how little you'd actually be accomplishing. The whole thing would be about how far you could push glitches to skip items... This topic here is obviously quite the opposite, the 100% topic. You also have the controversy over whether stuff like the Silver Gauntlets and the Gold Scale counts as one item or two since getting them is getting a powered up version of an item you skipped.
Thats from the OoT thread I think, I cant find the poster though.
Try to make the movie shorter, or use a codec with better compression ratios. You may be smashing into a file size limit (I think 4GB is the typical cap) and the AVI breaks as a result.
ok thanks so much! it took like 6 tries(error messageswtf) but i found out the codec at the top of the list makes a nice, normal speed, not-really-dark-blue video.
the only downside is it take 6 times longer to encode than the video really is, but i can deal.
thx again!

whoa so somethings not right... i just tried the in-emulator method and i ended up with a file 4,184,843 KB big... and it plays in neither wmp nor vlc
so um did i do it right?
1. loaded the .m64 of my run
2.record avi>name it
3. played the recorded run.
i got this game when i was seven, and thought i had to get 120 stars to win. years later i learned it was more like 10 stars.
now i know i was wrong both times
also, i came.
