Luck manipulation can change that, surely.

Ohhh, YES! This game. I remember I never could beat it or anything. For some reason, I could never get the last door to finish getting all of them. I'll definitely see what I can do to provide info to anyone who does a speed run of this game. I think it should be the quickest way to an A+. As for the events... Indiana Bart Two pages here, with two levels. There is some stone backtracking to make sure you don't end up falling off the stage, but it's never too far. It'll be nuts to see someone fly through this level like nothing. Remember to watch out for the Maggie statues that shoot the pacifiers at you. Itchy and Scratchy I've only seen this done once, I think. Two levels and two pages. Being very daring against the two of them would lead to some great entertainment. Bartzilla The first part is boring, but the second part could be done with some entertaining ways, since it's an auto-scrolling bit. Some luck manipulation could be done when climbing the building somehow to make the people throw not in your direct path. Two pages for this one. Bartman A personal favorite of mine, and fairly easy too. Bosses can be defeated in seconds flat (except for Burns) with a mere turbo function of the fire button. Only real thing to think about are the radioactive clouds. They don't kill you instantly, but suck your health out like a vampire. One page here. Bart in the Bloodstream Kill the enemies as fast as possible to get that guy that goes "Howdy, there!" to appear (I knew his name at one time, but I lost it.). Once he appears, he comes back after you kill an enemy. You must get him six times to win. That's my basic info to help y'all.

Okay, so I've jumped from one Simpsons game to another. YOU SAW IT COMING! Anyway, I'll definately do this one because it hasn't been done yet (as far as I know), I know it so well, and I'd rather clean up one of my mistakes (See here for more details) rather than letting some people down (how many were there, like two people?). I know maybe the fastest route which is something like this: Get all the single page levels done before the double page levels because it is increasingly harder to find the page on the overworld or, as it looks, the street. When I'm down to the last two levels, equaling four pages, use the techniques to make the pages appear magically (blowing a bubble and popping on someone's head and/or destroying that TV with a seed, whichever comes first). The double page levels are Indiana Bart and Bartzilla, as stated above, both should prove to be entertaining. I've already begun this game and I'll post a WIP HERE. It's the Bloodstream level and I believe I optimized this level to the point in which it would be frustrating to obselete it, regardless it may look sloppy, to some, but I assure you it is very difficult to manipulate that Smilin' Joe Fission guy to appear close to you. Other than this, all criticism and advice is welcome.

Nothing really to say other than good luck and I'm looking foward to seeing this fairly hard game stomped.

Same here. I was never able to beat this game, personally. Another Simpsons based run I'd like to see that is similar to this is Virtual Bart. Keep up the good work, btw the Bloodstream level looks great!

Hey thanks OgreSlayeR, Joe. For that I give you Another WIP. In the 'Itchy and Scratchy' level I did my best to keep it entertaining and I decided that a higher score is not what I'll shoot for, nor will I stay flawless when health comes into play (doesn't slow me down the way I'm doing it, and by this I mean I'll take damage for entertainment). on the overworld/streets, the paper is getting a little more time consuming to appear and I wait a couple of frames to manipulate what doors appear (you probably won't notice where though because it is subtle). Up next is 'Bartman' and I think I'll take quite a bit of time on this one to somehow destroy everything without slowing me down and finding the best way to destroy the bosses/minibosses. It may be a while for another WIP but I assure you this level is the only level that will take a while to do. With this said, I'll try to work as diligently as possible. Edit: Also I changed the movie files' settings because I thought I found a desync, so as a precautionary I changed it. Edit2: Okay, there definately is a desync when fast-forwarding either in Itchy and Scratchy (in the attic) which happens maybe 30% of the time (while fast-forwarding, mind you) or in Bartman which is definate (while fast-forwarding only). Hopefully everyone will be able to view this movie but it sucks that there, most likely, will be an inability to fast-forward. While fast-forwarding I am unable to pin-point the desync so I can't fix it if I don't know exactly where it is. I'll keep you posted. Edit3: Now, I expect no more desyncs because I was a fault to use Volume Envelope Height Reading (I'm not even sure what games do not desync with that option enabled) which means I have to do over a part, I believe, but it isn't too far off, I may be able to hex edit a good portion so we'll see. Edit4: With all the desyncs out of the way, I had to redo some parts but I think it still holds up pretty well in the entertainment department. There shall no longer be any cases of desyncs as far as I can tell (where have I heard this from?). Here's the Spruced up WIP2 (still ends in the same place as before but I am much more comfortable in the 'Bartman' level that I may be able to finish it later today!). Edit5: It seems if I don't kill Smithers either of the times and make him shoot all his projectiles as quick as possible I won't have to take him out, I can just let him leave which is quicker.

'Bartman' Done. There are sometimes in which I was either unable to kill off all the pesky rockets or if I did it would bring up serious lag, so that's the reason and I'm sticking to it! The boss fights went pretty well, I'd say. Fighting Mr. Burns is a little tedious but I think it was relatively short. With this level out of the way I should be able to zoom through the rest. My previous plans are changed. I no longer have to do the 2 levels with 2 papers (equaling 4 pages) last because no matter what I'll be able to make the paper appear magically when all I need to do is 2 levels more (hope that makes sense, you'll see what I mean). If I'm/You're lucky, I'll be done by tomorrow.

Just watched you wip and I thought it was really good. The twitching that bart does during itchy and scratchy was a good idea, it made the boring waiting periods bearable. The delayed hits on the rockets during the bartman paper was very cool too. Good luck with the rest, I can wait to see this complete.
They're off to find the hero of the day...

Well, it's done, I just need to come up with line after line after line of descriptive detail. See it at the Workbench when it's apparently there.

I'm going to make another run of this game because I really didn't use everything to my advantage the first time around. I really only used relative and vast knowledge that I knew of (I knew all that there is to know to complete it but not too the fullest extent and optimization; I was lazy and felt "This is good enough" but now I feel it's an eye sore (if you were to know the mistakes) and it should be redone. I'll upload WIPs like last time so you can see the improvements right away, if you want. Expect a good margin of improvement because I'll be using what I already know plus any RAM addresses that can and will help.

OK, the first WIP is done and happens to be the Bartman stage. I tried dodging everything but lag was still persistent, even more so since most objects stay on the screen longer than if you destroy them. So, I decided to destroy everything except for one of the first set of red rockets and one Hang gliding Nelson. I didn't destroy the red rockets because it caused way more lag and I didn't knock down Nelson because he decided to zip on up and out of the area which is a glitch I discovered and seems to only work in that area of the level. I tried to stay diverse with destroying the rockets. The rest is as you see it, as fast as possible. Edit: I forgot to say that it's about a little more than 11 seconds faster than the last Bartman stage in the currently published run. Timing every hit by measuring really paid off. Edit2: Well, I've decided that, since it looks like no one is all too interested in WIPs, I'll no longer post any because a whole run is more worthwhile than wasting time of other people. Instead, I'll just update with this same post or just finish the run, I haven't decided. Anyway, I've made little progress because I went back to the fight with Burns and I beat him with one less fly around saving about 2 seconds. Progress should pick up because now I'm much more motivated to finish it.

Here's a thought... Would the MegaDrive version of this game be any less laggy? I haven't checked if there's a discussion for this there already, but it's just a thought.
I'm not that hard to find... if you know where to look. -=( http://jolikmc.tumblr.com )=-

Hmm, the Genesis version is way less laggy but the color scheme and sound isn't that great (the SNES version isn't really any better though, the sound that is). It's also slower so I'm going to stick with the SNES version.
