Lol, so stupid that you found the fastest strategy to this game so far ;)
Why exactly is the ufo faster than anything else? I thought it was previously dismissed as slower than wheel or tornado. Also, you should be wary on using the beam; every time you use it, the game slows down considerably. Destroy enemies to prevent lag, but don't do it by causing more lag. :)

I think UFO is faster because it is good at killing bosses and mini-bosses, and you can easily change directions.

It's not just horizontal speed that dictates which strategy is the best, it's also maneuverability, control, and strength against bosses. UFO has a speed of 640, compared to wheel's 1024 and tornado's 1024 (during its peak). However given the level design thus far, UFO almost always keeps up with Tornado, at least in the first world, and is much faster against bosses. His current UFO WIP is 201 frames faster than my Tornado WIP, and mine is much more tightly optimized by this point. Edit: I also think this strategy is cool because Kirby stays his normal pink color instead of the tan color that he normally gets when powered up.

I think I accidentally deleted my movie where I get the tornado power at the start. Does any body have it, and if they do, could they please post it?

I believe this is the movie you're talking about: Click Another idea I had, watching your submission, was the possibility of re-sucking the UFO star you drop when you have to go down ladders. If this was possible, it would save a lot of time most likely.

Thanks for the movie. Since the ufo power is a glitch (It says normal in the power box), eating the star does'nt give you the power back. The second world looks like a good world for tornado.

How come you kill so much stuff? It seems to waste a lot of time.

Partially to prevent lag, partially to make it more interesting.

Kirby! This is probably the best time I'm going to get for this world. Ever. Sorry about the link, that was a complete accident.

Link is broken; as a result it links to a ROM site.

Definitely improved. I can't tell if it's perfect without testing a lot myself, but it's definitely entertaining and polished enough to be publishable, in my opinion. 649 frames faster than my WIP at the end of World 1.

Looking good kirbymuncher, you found some clever little time savers and reduced lag greatly. It can however be improved, check out my movie of the first two stages. I beat your time by 55 frames, and it could be improved too with techniques I just noticed your movie. Some notes; I managed to defeat the mini boss without stopping. When you go over slopes just press forward, don't press up and right, it is slower to do so. Try and cut all your corners to the exact frame because it costs time to move diagonally.

Using a soft reset is ~119 frames slower than using a hard reset, that is... it would normally be. To make a hard reset about as fast as a soft reset, you can use the in-game reset function by pressing A+B+start+select. Too bad this trick is trivial, since everybody is using a soft reset anyway :P

Great video there, I'm hoping to try again for a better time soon. I really want to get under 12000 frames.

I have completed the second world, but it is no doubt improvable. Movie

Thats much better, it really is coming together now. Getting the wheel looked to save quite a bit of time, maybe you should have kept it until you got the ufo again. The game seemed to lag a bit when you used the lvl1 ufo beam, does it actually save time to use it?

All the attacks other than beam make you stop moving for a few frames. I got rid of the wheel because of the fiirst enemy in level 3.

I have finished the third world, and it can be foundhere. The levels in the third world seem to be shorter, but there are more of them.

Hm lol. I always discarded the UFO because it's not the fastest and more because you loose it at the end of each level. I did hear of the select trick but somehow never bothered. Make sure to mention this is the reason you get hit by enemies after you mix. I was wondering why at first. Also, I like that you try to show other skills (wheel, hi-jump), but I'm not so sure whether taking the wheel and doing the parts after the wheel is faster then just keeping UFO (and all that is gained by not getting mix again). But I'm not sure whether there will ever be any completed run after a new one is made now so just keep on going :) I don't mind the UFO-spam. I just want this game done properly :) Oh and wasnt it possible to double-star both of the bosses when triggered properly? (Perhaps starting at the sun's side, since he's going up) Or is only one of them vulnerable at start?

I never thought of shooting tthme both, but I went and tried it and it doesn't work. I get rid of ufo in some cases because it can't go down ladders or though those wodden platforms.

I'm working on the fourth world right now, and it's going well. Ufo is a fun power to have for all the levels.

Fourth world completed. The boss of the fourth world has longer invincibility than any other boss so far. I accidently did 5-1 in this movie too.

It looks like there are a variety of death animations. I wonder if it would be worth trying to manipulate one to avoid lag in some spots? I don't think there would be many instances where it would be worth doing since you'd usually want to kill them as fast as possible, but still something to consider.
I like my "thank you"s in monetary form.

I think the different animations come from killing enemies with different attacks.
