I recently had one of those urges to try and find a new background for my desktop. I like the one I have now, but it's been my background for over two years now. As I was searching, the thought occured to me...what kinds of backgrounds do you guys like? For example, I'm mostly into landscapes (particularly beaches, endless oceans, and deserts) and semi-abstract backgrounds. My current wallpaper (the one I've had for a long time) combines them both: http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/1718/mgeosigqs6.jpg (title is "Geometric Splendor") Feel free to post your current background and/or what you look for in one.

Mine is a pitch black screen. I couldn't decide which of the thousand of gorgeous pics to use, and just went with black screen for two reasons: it doesn't hurt the eyes at night, and all the icons are equally visible in any part of it.

With two monitors, I need something that has depth, or I'm feeling like I'm staring at a wall.. so, currently this one. That guy skybase has more similar wallpapers, I choose the one I choose for it's colour. if you like landscapes, you might like them :)

I have 239 Megs of wallpapers on random rotation every 10 minutes. (Using KDE)

Ditto for me, but I like cool pictures too. :P So, right now, I'm using a darkened version of this. It wins. :)

I use a 100% black background too, because i get tired of the images too quickly. What's KDE? changing the background every 10 minutes should work for me.

It a Linux Desktop Environment. It comes with a built-in desktop switcher. I don't know how you'd do it on Windows, to be honest.

http://upthorn.mspencer.net/images/skytrip-c.jpg It's been my wallpaper since I accidentally made it about 6 years ago.

I've found a little program that changes the background everytime i turn on the pc, which is good enough. http://www.ljnelson.com/work/apps/mixpix.htm edit: it didn't work under win xp so i've uninstalled it.

I usually just have a random hot girl... however... http://img219.imageshack.us/img219/4892/dasrikdesktopxt5.jpg ...I'm having a problem with files on my desktop. Many of them are files I'm seeding on BitTorrent so I can't move them. Anyone have any advice for this?

My entire wallpaper directory. What does it consist mostly of? Or is it a mixed bag?

Mixed bag. Mostly things I find pretty or funny. They're mostly stuff I found and handpicked (not reaped) off of 4chan's /wg/

very nice Vidar, and the theme is very interesting, is it custom too ? mine is intentionally plain, so that I don't get distracted by the image.
