Right, so I've been thinking a lot about the route, there are a few tiny options to make all runs end at the same time but the solution would look too awful as we would be forced to do the most retarded things in Mega Man 3 to achieve the above mentioned goal. Another thing that concerns me is if we should use the Super Arrow (Mega Man 5). Because imagine how it would affect Mega Man for the other games :) Jumping and sliding every other 4-5 frames. But we'll either find a way or make it smooth as possible. Mega Man 6 is the easiest game for this series, we can treat it however we like. It feels like we must pay more attention to a certain Mega Man, and as of now, its between Mega Man 4 and 5 because those routes relies on Ballon Adaptor and Super Arrow. In Mega Man 3, there isnt much use for Rush Jet etc other than zipping of course. So my conclusion is, we must pay a bit more attention to Mega Man 4 and 5 and we'll stick with all the current routes for each game. What Baxter and I have agreed on is that this project will begin in September or early October. That depends on when Bax completes Biker Mice From Mars and when I finish Mega Man 3.

Just gotta chime in to say I suggest encoding in a format that allows you to use multiple audio channels so you can have say all four at once (two left speaker, two right speaker), and each game individually..

We hope to give you guys soon our first WIP as we could not wait any longer to begin with this very exciting project. This is how you replay our run/quad run: 1. Open 4 FCEU's (note: I recommend using the latest FCEU version to replay our WIP; v.16 21th release and you might wanna adjust their size so they will fit nicely your screen). 2. Open all 4 roms (Mega Man 3 (U) [!].nes, Mega Man 4 (U).nes, Mega Man 5 (U).nes, Mega Man 6 (U).nes) obviously in each FCEU and Pause all games. 3. Replay each proper fcm to each game (make sure all FCEU's are still paused). 4. "Enable background input" (at Config). 5. Unpause (if step 3 works, all FCEU's should unpause) and Rock n Roll! Edit: For comfort, I would suggest "Enabling background input" after opening all 4 ROM's so you dont have to click on each seperate FCEU to replay (there is a hotkey for this) the movies.

We actually planned on putting up a WIP after the first stage is completed, but it seems that this will take some time, so here is a short WIP which completes the first 2200 frames (It's pretty short, but you'll get an idea what it will look like). Here is an FCM of our WIP, and here an AVI (thanks to DeHackEd). We tried the start of this stage both, to get an idea how making this TAS feels. I will be playing the first half of this stage, and AngerFist the last half, so most of this WIP comes from me, and most of the last part of this stage will come from AngerFist. The last ~200 frames of this WIP need to be redone, because of bad luck with Mega Man 6 randomness. Edit: I replaced the link of the AVI. This version has audio :)

The sound of 4 Megaman games playing at once is one of the funnier things that I have heard. When you guys finish this it will be incredible.

This is probably the biggest reason I began TASing in the first place, to see people's expressions makes everything totally worth it. We are doing this for you guys :)

Man it's hard to watch it. I had to watch it five times :D. First watching all of the MegaMans at the same time and then every MegaMan as one. I can't wait to see more. I hope you are as eager to make it, as we are to watch it ;).
Which run should I encode next? :)

That, is wicked. I remember watching the X-games double run, and then again with a friend of mine, and then yet again with two friends more. This will SO be chips drinks and lots of dropped jaws. If that last part would actually work, technically.

Seriously, what will TAS look like in a year? Or 10?!? I bet we'll be able to make one movie file that works for every NES game ever created...

The AVI has some major video slowness and desyncs with the audio for me. What codec does it use?

After watching this, I feel much better about the pace of the run as a whole. This type of run wouldn't be possible without the slide move. However, I'm still rather concerned about weapon changes. I know that at least some of the games take different amounts of time to access the weapon menu, but hopefully all of them are a little different. If there were about 20 frames difference in time between all of the menus, there wouldn't be any problem there, but obviously that's not the case. =P Well, I guess that moving the cursor around a bunch in the menu should do it for most cases when it's not possible to use differences in menu access time to choose the different weapons. But anyway, I'm sure that's been tested a lot. One thing that I really like is trying to listen to all of the music at once. =D

Good thing there is lag. I don't know how it will work out, but at least not all 4 games will go to the weapon menu when pressing start. Changing weapons when some other games are scrolling is also an option. We'll see how it works out. First weapon change will probably be changing to rush coil at megaman 3.
