Well, I'd still like to see DKC 2&3 and Earthworm Jim 1&2. Or how about Doom for SNES? I think that could be quite entertaining.
Someone did EWJ1 here. Also, there have been a few on and off attempts at DKC2. Yell at OgreSlayeR if you want him to continue work on it.

There are already very good TA runs for Doom 1 and 2 on their vastly superior PC versions, so I don't think there's any point in messing with those. Maybe I'm one of the few that thinks that Mortal Kombat could be entertaining. Not going for speed, but playing around and showing stupid stuff while still winning. Like Gradius, if you will. Actually there is a way around the descync in the MK games, I think. But it makes the sound go crap.

I'm in favor of seeing more RPGs done, specifically: Final Fantasy IV Final Fantasy Mystic Quest Chrono Trigger (someone was doing a 100% run, weren't they?) Earthbound Earthbound Zero (Mother 1) Star Ocean

Someone is working on Final Fantasy IV. Tilus was working on a quick Chrono Trigger movie, but he went on an extended hiatus for reasons unknown. Halamantariel just gave up on Earthbound because people egged him to make a 'perfect' movie, which meant manipulating SMAAASH attacks every turn.

I'd like to say my favorite game for SNES isn't done yet Der Langrisser i made a topic about it a long time ago and it got like 2 posts which weren't really in favor of it... but since then RPG runs have been made so i'm hoping someone will eventually pick it up oh and i second Dragon View, awesome game.. i know someone ( Acmlm i think.. ) started it and is quite far in it too

There are so many TASs already, but how many classic games are there that are greatly in need of a TAS and would be really cool for the site to have? It's getting hard to come up with more classic games...
Trust me, there's many left. I would guess about half of the games I wish had TASs actually have one. And to answer the original idea about "classic" games missing, the one that sticks out like a sore thumb is obviously Sonic. SDA doesn't even have any Sonic, which I find even more amazing, but then again, SDA has a very Nintendo background and focus. quietkane: I've played through EVO about 4-5 times, but it was so long ago, I don't remember much of the details. I am pretty sure, however, that speed upgrades are the way to go. Doing some testing, it seems like the mammal can get up to 14 speed and the bird a ridiculous 18. Also, jumping seems to make you go faster, but there's a delay upon landing, so the bird could jump into the air and then start dashing in the air without having to land. Human is probably not worth it since he's slower, but mostly because getting him takes forever to go through all the various changes. Hmm, a TAS of this game really would rock. While Lemmings would of course be great, Lemmings 2 would be especially bad-ass since you would play the entire game in fast-forward, while recording in slow-motion of course. The end result would be mind-boggling. Switching tribes would sadly waste frames of course. As for saving every single lemming, it simply can't be done in some levels. The best I can do on the SNES version is losing 2 in classic and 1 in polar. I think it is impossible to do any better, but I could be wrong. Secret of Mana... why settle for 2 players when you can use 3? ;) Or does snes9x not support that yet? Truncated: Valis series, especially 3, could be good. They're made by Wolfteam, who also did El Viento (which has a TAS) and ToP and later became the Tri-Ace we all know and love. Nsm: Rockman and Forte seems like somebody would have done a TAS by now. Wandering Road: All those RPGs have been mentioned much before, but I guess Mother 1 and Star Ocean 1 deserve rementioning due to sheer awesomeness and the fact that nobody is working on them. Mlandry: If I saw the Der Langrisser thread, I would have been in favor of it. ;) Anyway, would you rather see Der Langrisser or Langrisser/Warsong 2 or 1 for the Genesis? And which path would you take? It's been a long time since I played the game, and it was in Japanese. But if we're talking about SNES TRPGs, Tactics Ogre is just about the most underappreciated game of all time. It would probably be a shorter run than I might imagine, and coming up with an optimum strategy would probably take more effort than any other TRPG I can think of right now, but on the other hand, like TRPGs in general, a TAS or speedrun might be overly repetitive.

I think it does support that many, because earlier people were having problems with hitting the length limit too fast because their movies were set to use 5 players.

I've been working on Lemmings for the NES, and I second that. For me, it's quite logical that if you could save every lemming in every level, they would require you to do so. However, they don't. Anyway, I'm starting to get bored of improving the same levels over and over again, so I might put it off for a while.

Simple, the normal requirements would be for mere mortals, while saving every lemming would be for those seeking more challenge. In fact, I think some of the expansion level packs, such as the Prima pack or the 2 Christmas packs, can be completed losing no lemmings, but I'm not 100% sure of this. For Lemmings 1, the best argument against is they don't require you to save all lemmings, or else the Exploders would be quite useless. In Lemmings 2, Exploders are deemphasized, although you need to use them on that Polar level I was talking about. Even the Classic levels don't require them; your lemmings die due to needing Blockers.

It depends on what your goal is. Mine is to get through the game as quickly as possible, which means that, in some levels, I'm having trouble killing the unnecessary lemmings quickly enough.

Yeah, I was talking about normal playing. =p I just wanted to add: is there some sort of an escape button on the NES version? Because on any Lemmings version in which it's possible, I would always hit Escape as soon as I met the minimum percentage.

Alas, there isn't.

I haven't tried it yet, so idk. BTW, there is a Lemmings topic in the NES forum.

Target Earth for the Sega Genesis. I don't think this would be considered a "classic" but its a pretty good game (one of my all time favorites) that I think would be VERY interesting to see a TAS of. Check it out if you have the spare time!

I would love to see Claymates. I don't know if this game is a classic game, but it would definately be fun to watch. That, and the N64 game where you control a chip and you go from animal to animal. That would be cool to see optimized, too.

If were going to talk about classics, why not Space Invaders? They don't get much more classic than that. I've never really played it well enough to see any sort of ending, but if there is one it'd be worth going for i think.

I think that any TAS of this game would get really boring really fast. I just can't see myself watching Space Invaders for a half hour...

Except for the last level, I found that pretty good. I strongly agree that a warpless run would be a lot more enjoyable, but that wasn't so bad.

Shooters, as a rule, do not make very good TAS candidates. Usually they are fixed scrollers so no matter the technique of the player the game must take a certain length of time to complete. Space Invaders has the added disadvantage of NO scrolling, so there would be virtually nothing to watch at all. True, never missing a shot would be impressive at first, but how long would that really hold anyone's interest? Not to mention the fact that I don't think there is an ending, therefore there is no goal...

I'd like to see a TAS of Flying Warriors done. If you could manipulate the targets that appear on your opponents body somehow, you could get some really fast beatdowns in the fighting portions.
