yeah the reason is probably tht it says you need to be over 13 or have a guardian's consent, but your guardian doesn't want you to. Hah.
Anyway here's the encode. gln64 is glitchier than jabo. examples are the white line sometimes when it becomes widescreen, and the strange background for pauses.

Thank you so much. It would be great if you could create an AVI whenever GB releases a WIP.
Ok, comments about the run...
AKA once said that has been able to collect rupees such that you don't need to go behind the shop. He was able to get 2 blue rupees out of the bushes, or something like that. However, this will save a few frames, if any at all. All in all, a great run, and it's amazing how you saved 30+ seconds on your run!
I just watched the new TAS. Thanks very much, bkDJ.
That's really a 31-second improvement? O_o Wow. Anyway...
Subscreen delay: 4 seconds each * 2 = 8 seconds wasted. =/
Bag of Magic Food, I wish I could fix the stupid glitch, but I don't have the knowledge. Someone should, though.
I've personally never been able to manipulate the bushes near the Z-targeting practice area so that they drop blue rupees (and thus making the one in the shop unnecessary). I've made about 50+ attempts. If you have succeeded, I'd like to know.
Is swimming the fastest way to get from the Kokiri Shop to Mido? According to Acryte, the fastest way was using the middle "island." Check his Youtube profile for the comparison videos--IIRC, the difference came out to be about 10 frames.
HiddenGamer, getting the Goron's Bracelet is VERY slow--much slower than getting the Slingshot from Deku and Bombchus from Spirit. You have to navigate your way through the Sacred Forest Meadow, learn the song, and watch Darunia do his stupid dance. Not to mention that you can't learn SS until you've learned the Lullaby, and that won't be done until later in the run for efficiency reasons (you need explosives to skip the whole Weird Egg thing).
As for the vine text skip in Deku, if I recall correctly it's not any faster if you do it. But someone should double-check. The subject was discussed on SDA a few months ago.
ok, then if he goes to the spirit temple then he doesnt need the fairy slingshot, because he will have bombchus to bomb boost to the bomb bag.
Other things though, can you hit the switch in the jabu jabus belly dungeon in the first room without a fairy slingshot?
NVM get the slingshot , its a only 30 sec item plus I'm thinking that it might not be a requirement for bomb boosting but it may work faster I dont know because I remember someone in the sda forums saying its possible to do it without the slingshot, but you might need to use the slingshot for the switch in jabu jabu belly and L4yer says it helps you beat the boss faster in the first dungeon
In Spirit, you need the slingshot to shoot a crystal switch on the second floor. When activated, a chest containing 10 bombchus drops down. Without such explosives, you won't even be able to enter Dodongo's Cavern to get the bomb bag (unless you pick up a strength upgrade, which takes unnecessary time).
You can hit the switch in Jabu-Jabu using a bombchu or well-timed bomb.
I'll tell you this: if you can somehow figure out a way to activate the aforementioned switch in Spirit without the slingshot, skipping it *might* be feasible. But even then, the chances are slim because (1) you'd need extra time to get Deku Nuts for Gohma, and (2) activating the endless sword glitch and using the Green Bubble to boost across the gap on Spirit's first-floor takes quite a bit of time.
No, you are right all the way mwl, don't skip the slingshot, plus the route to the spirit temple saves more time then getting goron's braclet.
<HiddenGamer> and what about the switch in jabu jabus belly?
<HiddenGamer> how do you get that without the slingshot?
<kwinse> "bombs or bombchus"
<pirate_sephiroth> hmm
<HiddenGamer> takes more time meaning its not worth doing that.
<HiddenGamer> worth just having slingshot.
<kwinse> exactly
Plus other things.
That means you save more time getting the slingshot. That concludes that story
IRC chatter L4ayer has shown that the Direct64 video plugin keeps sync with this tas, and has no glitches (no white line on widescreen, no right+bottom edge see-through on screenfade, and no replaced/black pause background/ messed up equip screen) So all future wips I encode of this game will be encoded using that :)
I heard his encode though, I heard after him pressing start then 5 seconds later after hearing silence I then hear browsing through inventory though? Seems like the same menu pause emulator glitch.
Since Direct64 is a renamed newer version of glN64 by the same author, I'm not surprised. But it has very high requirements (too high for me to be able to use it, but at least I can see it in the AVIs)...
Of course that pause glitch isn't fixed (if it were, it couldn't maintain sync with the other plugin as bkDJ said).
That's funny because i couldn't get gln64 to work correctly. Nemu64 Graphics (combine debug) is also able to maintain sync but seems to change the resolution of the game so some parts are clipped.
Here is a video of direct64 in action.
Very good Guano, Although wouldn't it be best to go into first person mode and then to slingshot the ladder, unless that was nesscary for manipulating the skulltulas, the skulltula skip after the web seemed optimal, but did you definitledy try to optimalize it, I was wondering if its possible to backflip at all during it. Deku room was as about as you could relistically get it.
From here go to the Spirit learn the requiem; get the bombchus; warp out using the requiem and then kill yourself, I think thats Mwl had in mind.
The one uncertainy of this run is when to get the lullaby since its been confirmed that the magic is needed to use the light arrows. There isn't that many options of when to get it.
1. Straight after Completion of Dondongo (Ideally)
2. After Spirit depending on how quickly we can get there
3. Right after we get Ocarina
note: You can't get it after Magic since its required then
There are two options of getting into the domain,
1. Via Zora's River use ground jump to avoid owl and ascending the river with the cucco
2. Using the house glitch in Lake Hylia to hit the entry collision to Zora's Domain from below.
Very very nice. The graphics plugin also looks nicer, I think, but it's too bad that the menu gets all weird, for me, anyway. Seeing the last prerendered scene every time it's paused is kind of weird.
As for the actual run, I'm not completely convinced that the part between slashing the sign for the blue rupee and getting down from that higher ground was ideal, but as a whole the rupee run was much better. I don't really know, the jumping pattern and path could be closer to ideal than I think, since I don't know the movements rates that well. And I especially loved the exit of the store to Mido route.
In the Deku Tree, the one part where you're rolling and jumping along the edge in that main room may not be ideal, but it probably doesn't cost much more time than either changing direction to backwalk/sidehop, or having to take a less ideal rolling path to not hop off. Again, I'm really not sure what's best, but those two parts stuck out in my mind.
But I believe that there are some things that can be improved once you've jumped through the web. I don't think that you need to step on that switch if you don't end up using that flame, since stepping on the switch takes longer than landing next to it, I think. However, if the flame storage works after doing the jump hover thing (I haven't tested it or anything, but I think that it would work), I think it would be faster to just hit that switch, do the flame storage using the slingshot when you're going towards the chest anyway, and then you won't have to go to the block for the flame.
So I think it's possible to improve the time in that area, either by using the flame from the switch for the flame storage, or if that doesn't work out, then it might save time to not hit that switch at all. But anyway, you should look into that, since I think it could save a second or two. =)
Even if you don't end up looking into that, or if it doesn't end up working, it's still a very nice improvement.
The ghoma cutscene actually looked pretty cool, with the red and black texture glitches, IMO.
The only thing that bothered me was the jump in the water part, but it shouldn't cost TOO many frames, if any at all.
Actually, in the first run, he basically did what you said, and it turned out to be much slower. He was backwalking diagonally in the test run, which is one of the slowest forms of transport. "Cutting corners by roll jumping" seems quite a bit faster. I'm not sure if balkwalking straight, chaning directions, and resuming the straight backwalk would save any time, especially since you are taking a longer route (no diagonals), and not even cutting corners. The roll jumping looked nice, very nice.
I'm not sure what you are talking about. The switch that GB hits right after jumpslashing the web NEEDS to be hit. It's faster landing on it, because you are gonna take damage, and pause regardless of where you land.
You're telling me! In a ~7 minute run (including the initial cutscene), GB has saved roughly 1.5 minutes. That's more than 15 percent of time saved already!
Granted, the rate of improvement might drop because the run after the deku tree was optimized a bit more, but we still have to factor in the BA+Ganon early into timesavers.
The run looks amazing right now. Keep up the good work GB!

I took damage in the deku scrub room because I should have lost hearts, but getting the heart in the chest was a bummer. I need as little as hearts as I can to die/savewarp easily.
& DK, there will be some seconds saved backwalkin because of the sword/deku stick/sword/deku stick trick.
Change my sig. again, and I will murder your pet fish.
