time attacks on fighting games such as this should be done on the hardest difficulty, with the fastest way possible. when i say that however i mean the fastest way that LOOKS the best. watching someone do nothing by sweeps over and over would be horrible to watch. street fighter was always a slower paced fighting game compaired to other. now a no hit, all perfect time attack of mortal combat 2 (or 3) or killer instinct on the hardest difficult... THAT would be insane to watch. specialy if all fights ended with a fatality or a ultra combo

There is also a superplay movie with perfect rounds for Ken to download, don't know the site anymore but it looks like the Ryu (Roy) movie ;) . Very impressive! So I don't know why there is interest in an assisted perfect rounds speed run. I also like to see a MK movie or a KI movie with an Orchid 47 hit ultra combo each round for example (yeah it's possible).

There is some doubt as to whether snes9x can faithfully record MKII. Check out this thread (around 15 posts in): http://tasvideos.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=517 I think a fighting game time attack would be impressive, so long as the author is creative. Getting "perfect" every round is not enough.

what Im bout to say aint no bs. I was my local (in stockholm, streetfighter championship) a champ AND I knew then some tricks that knocked my opponents out. Every game took about 10-15 seconds to complete, all you need is a hardrock technic (which I had with Ken). So basically whoever wants to run this game play a couple of days, find your favourite player (I think Ken is the best) try to find a kick ass combo and your are done! If I where at my former shape I would have performed a amazing run.

If this is accepted, then you guys who are complaining should take on the challenge yourself. I don't mind if someone will perform a faster completion. I already went on to a new game instead and I doubt I'll get back to SFII because of all these "OMG j00 didn't use 436785 impossible combos that can't be done in SFII" and "man I can finish all rounds in 10Ss11!". I'm done with this topic.

Meh, you're worse than Linkin Park fans. No one said anything nice or whatever about my run, I made three movies before doing this one which took a few hours and this topic and replies is what I get? I'm sure that most people wouldn't really be inspired to listen to anything more about how much it sucks, etc.
If I where at my former shape I would have performed a amazing run.
There's no limit on the re-records. Go ahead.

It's amazing to beat SFII the way you did. Getting perfect rounds only, and I think that was your main goal! ....But there are allready more than only one run out there without any re-record (and/or maybe slow motion). Copy the moves and savestate or doing all in one crazy attempt, it's obvious what run owns more. The people who haven't seen other SFII videos yet will be still very impressed how you could beat the game that way. The writers here in this topic know the game, how to fight against cpu's. So they only told you how your run could be improved in several ways. Because we're thinking ahead we forget to mention the cool parts about your run. So, take it easy we still like it :) .

you didn't do the bonus levels fast enough. There is a trick: Jump in the air and do the key combination for the Tatsumakisempukyaku as you land.

...you know, it might just be easier to call them by their "unofficial" names; like the "Hurricane Kick", or the "Dragon Punch", or even the "fireball".

I'd also prefer "that thing the guy in the white does where he jumps in the air and starts spinning fast and kicking while yelling something obscure" ;)

If you want pure speed, I wonder if Zangief wouldn't be the best choice. He can combo into Spinning Piledriver in World Warrior (and ONLY World Warrior, no other SF), and it leaves them right next to him so you may be able to land it again. Another good one is Guile, thanks to his oldschool four-fierce combo (Jump Fierce, Stand Fierce cancelled into Fierce Sonic Boom, f+fierce). That is a guaranteed dizzy, and doing it again means they die. -Josh
but then you take my 75 perchance chance of winning, if we was to go one-on-one, and then add 66 and two-thirds ch...percents...i got a 141 and two-thirds chance of winning at sacrifice

You are correct that Zangief would be a good alternative and his combo is excellent but there is just a minor problem with that beast. Its that he is to slow. He takes to much time to move forward or backward. According to my opinion Ken is the ultimate thrill. And now I remember my trick with him :)

A Zangief time attack would be pretty cool. He was, in my opinion, the hardest character to use. Certainly I never saw anyone win with him consistently in the arcade.

Here's a one battle sample of what I'm talking about: http://www.feitclub.com/sf2.zip Ken vs Ryu, 2-0, both perfect. Timer was on 88 and 90, faster than any of those submitted. Why? Because of the combos, and not particularly advanced ones. Constructive critisism is vital to time attacks. I'm not trying to hurt your feelings, just trying to explain how things can be improved.

In order to compare with Nightcom's run, those should have been played on the hardest difficulty.

True, and if I go ahead and play the whole game I will do so. I just wanted to quickly demonstrate the combo possibilities.
