You can do the sword glitch by using the sign at the entreance to the graveyard, or the large gravestone.
But then can you climb the fence? We are still having problems with the required height, right? If we need height, we may have to start the giltch from here: The good thing is, that grave-stone is readable, so the sword glitch could start there. (there's also a grave-stone parallel to me, which might be closer)

Guano : This is just my opinion but i wouldn't restart all the way back in Jabu Jabu unless there's something you absolutely needed to do back then that would of helped you complete something now or later MUCH faster. (I'm not sure because this thread is hard to follow O_o ) Reason being that since glitches and such are still being discovered, even if you start again, if someone started a new run from scratch would probably end up being much faster because of new tricks & glitches. I think you should just complete the game ( obviously doing as best as you can like you did up to now ), and submit that... it will be accepted and if you feel like improving it ( I think I remember you saying you won't but anyways.. ) then you can start anew

Acryte has just confirmed that it is possible to skip the bean with the new "flying" trick.

Okay, well, here is what I am going to do. Ill be doing 2 runs. One which will be if anyone can get the poe boost and another from after Jabu Jabu, getting beans, and planting for the skip to get Mirror Shield. See which one would be faster.

Yautja, I think you should provide instructions for how to do that flying trick. =P

Well, that's obviously a lot slower than the poe boost, but it's great that it's actually doable (within reason), and that'll be a lot faster than having to buy beans, I think. Edit: Actually, this sort of changes everything, assuming that these tricks were known from the start. There's a way to skip 4 rooms in Deku Tree now. . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vYU7g9NxDH0

Plus Acryte has said he has skipped King Zora with 6 bombs and the flying trick.

So does the sword glitch damage enemies? If so, shouldn't that skulltula have died?

I think getting 6 bombs before Zora would take more time than watching his ass move.

Acryte has found a way to get to the bombbag early using bombchus, so the bombag is definately worth getting in a speedrun as well as a TAS. @ Dacicus: The sword only damages enemies if it touches them.

Does he use the sword glitch to reach that corridor on the right with the switch that opens the gate on the left, and then use it in the room with the moving traps to reach the bomb bag area without having to go around?

Yeah, that's what I meant in the bomb bag room. How does he get to it, though? Does he take the full path, or does he use another trick in the main room to reach the switch early?

I've been following the SDA topic. The unfortunate fact is that many of Acryte's new finds (Deku skip, King Zora skip, quick Bomb bag, etc.) work only for child Link and won't be useful unless Guano redoes all or part of his run. I just don't think there's any need--tricks are still pouring in, so why waste the time when the revisions might be obsoleted again in a few months' time? I hope someone will redo this run once the route has fully settled down, but hopefully that won't happen in a while. It's rare to see such a brilliant group of researchers. So, if there is a new discovery that benefits Guano in the remainder of his run, I'll change the Wiki...otherwise, I'll keep the blueprint as is. But please, keep anything that may potentially change what's already done to SDA, as there's no need to discuss them here at the moment. I'll get started on a new "theoretical best route" once the latest wave of new discoveries has halted.

How would you get so many bombchus to pull that trick off? He must have used about 5 or 6...

He was using bombs too, which we have, and are replenishable. Plus, you can always go to the well, and get another 10 (well 9, since it requires a bombchu to get more bombchus).

IIRC, the bombs we have aren't replenishable as we don't have the bombs, just the bomb bag.

@_@ Unless I've been smoking the most craziest shit ever... Have you watched the WIP? I have 2 save-states with me trying to do the bean skip, and I've been using bombs.
